It's really frustrating that a lot of our things were changed for such a silly reason though. a LOT of people spelt their words a certain way for a reason and its a slap in the face when our ideas and submissions aren't respected.
Personally I've heard from a bunch of CW owners that are NOT happy with the changes to our CWs.
I 100% believe CWs should be offlimits (as do others clearly) for this project unless its a LEGIT spelling error because its our personal submissions and we submit them that way for a reason. Some things you've changed the spelling on have changed the entire meaning of the CW and for what? To appease people who don't even own the items they're asking to be changed.
Feel free to make a ticket if you have any issues with something I've changed. I'll make sure to send notifications again.
I was directed here by a friend, and I have seen the names of certain cws keep changing for seemingly pointless reasons. For example, cws with the word "bubblegum" being changed to "bubble gum." The dictionary has "bubble gum" as either "bubblegum" or "bubble gum," which makes both versions correct. Why change it? What was the point of that? That is quite annoying to me and other people who use scodes to keep track of their owned cw lists or release lists.
I also had friends who submitted items with memes as descriptions (you know, the internet's love for memes and all), only to find the descriptions completely changed and lost its entire meaning. I honestly fear of giving my cws descriptions that I truly wanted because it might be changed to something else and completely lost its meaning to me, like others had expressed before me. We don't even get a notice about our items being changed without our control, but we have to pay real money for the commission PLUS additional csc to get it on-site. Don't you think it's a little unfair to us cw creators to just change our items without notification after paying lots of money just to get 1 item on-site?
Sorry if I sounded harsh, but it is frustrating to keep up with these random name changes. I honestly feel like there should be at least a) a notification sent to cw releasers if their items had been changed by staff or b) an official "custom" list of some sorts for cw releasers and owners to keep track of cws without using scodes or the wishlist system.
I addressed all of this in my reply above, please make sure to read it. Feel free to make a ticket if you have any issues with a change. I haven't gotten one in the entire history of this thread!
Since I got pinged here, I'd like to give my two cents on the topic of CWs' names being changed for spelling conformity. (Not looking for a response from staff or anyone else, btw. I'm really just stating my opinion.)
As a relatively new CW releaser (compared to most other releasers), I personally haven't had to deal with any of my submitted CWs' names being changed (yet), so I haven't actually experienced the disappointment and frustration of those whose CWs' names have been changed for the sake of spelling consistency. But after hearing about this from other CW releasers, I agree that it's a shame and great disappointment for one's CW's name to be changed when it was intended to be spelled differently for a purpose (like how some CWs' names contain puns or a play on words), as opposed to accidental spelling mistakes.
And it sounded like some releasers didn't receive notifications of these changes...? At least, what I heard gave me the impression that no notifications were given regarding such changes. So yeah, as mentioned, notifications would be appreciated. And in addition, if it's all right to discuss/debate the change and possibly have the name changed back to what was intended, that would also be appreciated. (I'm assuming that maybe some releasers didn't think changes to CWs' names were something that could be discussed or that could possibly be requested to be changed back to the intended spellings, which might be why it was never brought up before. Again, I'm just assuming because I have no personal experience.)
i pinged you since you originated the thread, so if it was misplaced my apologies!
i can understand if some people found them annoying (esp if you had changed a number of their items at once) but i do think it serves your end better in the long run to have that line of communication! i haven't had any of my submissions changed/updated to my knowledge, but i would definitely prefer the notification to absolute silence on the matter. thanks so much for listening!
Definitely! I’ll make sure to start doing events again!
Hey everyone :) Just my two cents. I do my absolute best to catch these things as they are submitted, but with hundreds of CWs going through the queue every week, there are always bound to be some that are missed! I'd like to point out that I have made a post about this that is stickied in the CW forum, and have pinged CW submitters to quite a few times, reminding everyone to use proper spelling, capitalization, and US English only in submissions. We still consider to see these come through, and if becomes a huge problem for them to be changed after acceptance, we'll have to look at having any item with any sort of issue like this denied to be fixed by the submitter. I don't think any of us want to do that :)
and have the job of making sure things are consistent across the site, and has already stated that she will go back to eventing people if she has to change a CW. I think that's the best we can do, short of denying any and everything that has a possible issue. Let's try not get to that point!
Another small thing I just noticed:
and both use "Black and Red" as the ordering in their names.
should be changed to "Black and Red" in the name to match the other two items.
[edit]Another thing, the new Pop Up tents from GoOutside should maybe be changed to "Pop-Up" in their names (to match the existing Pop-Up books and also because pop-up seems to be correct from doing a quick search).

Debating on the wells for now. Will get back to you. I don’t think I’ll have a swooping decision as well-loved seems to be more accurate, but well done is as well.
Thanks for the ping. SubetaLodge is updated :)

Inconsistant Descriptors [item2=ebil sun toaster] Description: Pink is scary. Yes, fear the pink. @
Also, I'm not sure where to put this, but it seems relevant here: [item2=balloon plushie] is not actually a Plushie to be placed in the collection. So, I'm not sure if it should be made into a plushie, or its name should be changed to "Plushie Balloon" or… what...?
Fixed those! I think I got ahead of myself and changed that balloon. It's now Plush Balloon.
Thanks, !
It's just a small thing, but I'm wondering if this should maybe be changed to "Purple Polka Dot Balloon" because it looks more like a light purple than any shade of pink to me (the description would have to be updated as well).
When you updated from bean bag to beanbag, these items that were never able to be added to collections got moved as well and can now be added to beanbag collections (tested with token, sorry). Did you intend this:
[item=alchemy token: beanbag]
accidental double post
That's really strange, I have no idea when that happened. and I have had this conversation before and left those on purpose--it's in the OP even! SL still lists it as bean bag. No idea when or how this happed. I'm fixing them right now and will see if there's a solution for any already in collections. Thank you!
