I got a verbal warning for that too, right after I joined. Scared me to death as a noob! I've never used a forum image since.

Ah, alright. I'm glad it's nothing actually bad...I figured since it said 'verbal' warning that it wouldn't leave any 'marks' on my account. I wonder how many verbal warnings one can get before it's a legit warning...hm.

Yikes, I hope you get that figured out. I would've been really upset to have gotten an actually warning just because my signature+forum image were too big. >.< I still don't think they should even ALLOW items bigger than the dimensions given to upload, but...yeah.

I have gotten that when I first started before I knew how to fix them! It was rather bothersome, I felt like I had done something really wrong xD

Haha, when I still had the event there for reference, it used to freak me out everytime I got pinged/alerted to this board. XD Hahaha, but now I'm adjusting to it. Maybe I should've had a different title, but this one was quite to the point.

you know someone really has no life when they go through the trouble of checking the size of your signature pic and then reporting you if it's 5 pixels too big

I find it funny how there's strict rules on forum images and yet with pet leashes, the forum posts just stretch out anyway. Especially if there's a lot of text for the pet. xD

Totally agree with you on that point.

The thing that irritates me most about the whole rule is that any text that you put in is automatically considered 10pt Arial, which can throw the whole measurement off.

It's extremely arbitrary and needs done away with.

That is really a good point - the pet leash is great, but some people put WAY too much text with it...

I also got a warning for this, and don't understand for the life of me why the system doesn't just decline the signature/image if its out of bounds. I mean it's a silly thing, but it was my only warning ever, and it upset me.

It really is silly - and ALLOWING images larger than what they require is just silly and lining people up to get warnings when they don't understand the limits of the signature+forum image.

On a totally unrelated note, but the thing that triggered me getting my warning to begin with, my mouth still refuses to change and I am unable to change it. >.> Worried to comment in the bugs forum about it and get another verbal warning or something.

But you know, apparently if you only have text nothing will be done.

oops. Width over by 18 px. Mine had been at that for sometime now. If that had been an image I would have been warned ages ago.

I didn't do this on purpose and did change it so it's now 380 px wide. In fact I'm pretty sure it was in bounds when I created it or else I would have bumped the quote credit to a second line. Worse is the text in the posts actually are longer than my signature before I changed it.

I think if I remember right it is 3 verbal warnings then it is an official one.

I was in the same boat had a forum image up for ages then bam came on one day to see I had a warning about it.

I also have had some warnings removed but the still show up on my prefs page my last official warning wad not my fault I changed my forum pic but for some stupid reason it had changed to something i do not have and it was way over sized so got hit with the warning.

Coincidence that you got a warning on a thread about verbal warnings, lol...the text being 10px per line is really confusing, but whatever.

I definitely don't want anymore verbal warnings, let alone an official warning. I AM irritated however that I'm unable to even attempt to put a new forum image up. Anything I try, even something way tiny (i tried 10x10px just to see) won't even go through.

If and when I put up a forum pic I make sure I do not have anything in my siggy.

It really is a stupid thing if any image is not stretching the forums why can it not be used its not as if it is taking up and bandwidth space on here if users are hosting the images themselves

I literally am NOT able to. I even tried getting rid of my signature image 100% and trying and it just says 'cannot load this image' or 'invalid image link', which is bs since I was able to use the forum image as my signature just fine (obviously just to test it), but...ugh.
