- Oh, right! It's from Age of Empires and I'm so used to seeing it that I didn't even think about the axes not being labeled. D: Each stripe represents a civilization, the x-axis is time, and the y-axis is the percentage of the world population. You can see there was a huge battle toward the end that wiped out a few civilizations and that tan one took over.
I don't know if it would work well for weekend quests, and it would definitely be overkill. I just like graphs. :x

Gotcha. Well, I tried, but can't really make anything that doesn't look crappy (and will therefore not see the light of day.) There's just too many quest givers. Wish they could enter into battles and wipe each other out. ;)
I know I'd love to give Library a few thrashings. (Seriously. This morning, Shinwa "lost" all her crap at Alex's place. Had to do 10 quests just to try to get ones <100k. She should just woman up and wear her walk-of-shame badge with pride and stop making us clean up after her.)
Interesting charts, thank you for that. I didn't notice that Cursed wasn't Weekend Quest for so long. It's about time that changes are made otherwise we can just get rid of the Weekend Quests all together.
Thanks, now all I want to do is play that.

I'd like the "cool-off" period to be instated to help randomize the quests a little more. Aside from that I don't really have anything to add except, woah, cool graphs, .
A cool down period could only be one or two weeks or else it would become a routine.
I would also like to see more randomization on Weekend quests, and perhaps a cooldown period to deter seeing duplications in quick succession!
While I enjoy the bonus sP from Saggi, I would be ok seeing him disappear from the weekend quests based on the concept that Sarah is excluded. I believe this is more logical because Saggi has an sP requirement to participate, same as Sarah.
What if, instead of getting rid of Saggi completely, we change it up a bit. We bring Sarah into the mix of weekend quests, and change it so that no matter how much sp a user has, they can access maybe 5 quests a day. So, the newbies who otherwise wouldn't be able to access Saggi, have 5 quests to potentially try. Same with Sarah- those who can't complete her quests can do a handful.
Likewise, why can't we have Carl accessible to everyone during a weekend quest? It would be a great perk, and allow more users to participate.
Saggi is useful for winnowing super rares from the pool, especially on WQ. Without that, I think there'd be too much deflation of those items (although that may change with the new stocking?). I don't think he should be dropped entirely. But more Cursed, yes!
Also, tokens are useful in so many ways that I think they should stay where they are. Especially since Morostide will drain quite a few with the changes in skins and the HA zapper. (Very much looking forward to that...)

Yeah with tokens, we get 350 a day if we have a GA, 250 otherwise. The max for vending is more than that alone, and with the newer TS items costing more, I think Wiz is fine with what he hands out. It's not lack of a weekend quest that got tokens back up in price. It was two backgrounds released at 850 tokens which was pricey for people who vend. So I think the higher TS prices are going to even out all those WT.
No, I'd really rather have Saggi gone. Saggi weekend quests add billions of SP in the economy and the last thing we need is more SP in there.
Remember when the weekend special quests for Wizard was 50 tokens... you could make almost 5k tokens over the entire weekend with a GA.
Don't mix up "random" and "evenly probable" (sorry if I don't use the proper terms, I hope you get my meaning). The distribution looks perfectly random. Meaning, that in theory you could have a full year with only say library and Cinthia quests. If you want to have all quest givers being the weekend quests roughly evenly distributed, this would not be "random" at all.
Just adding my few wizard token observations. Being a newbie I didnot realize how valuable they were. First I used them on vending. Then with greater glee I found the token shop with hard to get items (would be impossible to get for newbies). The great event in my opinion was the opportunity to get those gorgeous backdrops. I got one and would have liked two but I didnot want to totally destroy my wizard token currency in vault. I think for newbies the wizard quests & tokens is a special form of happiness!
What about making the WSQ NPC pick pseudo-random?
Like say there are 5 NPC (for numbers sakes mmkay!), and each has a 20% chance. Then NPC A comes out, and his chance is reduced to say 12% (again for numbers sakes), with all the other NPCs having a 22% chance.
Therefore those NPCs who haven't had a turn have a higher chance at making the next quest, but it doesn't necessarily eliminate the chance of two quests appearing in a row. 10% is still chance.
The only qualm about this is that it miiiiight become less random after a time, because it might start to follow a certain pattern or order. But there is still some amount of randomness in it. Just not so as much as 'random' might be (which doesn't seem random despite being said it is anyway.)

Perhaps it's because you are relatively new and maybe you realize this, but items that are now stocking in weekly Token Shop restocks are doing so, in part, because they were legitimately impossible for "newbies" to get - many have been out of circulation so long or were so limited in initial release, that there were none available for sale, or their value was insanely high. Token Shop restocks used to be very few, very far between, and often would only have 1-2 items at a time, unless it was the massive potions dump. The items recently in the Token Shop, while still costing several hundred thousand to a few million sP now, are actually incredibly available to newbies, especially newbies who can, in theory, gain 1750 wizard tokens per week with only about ten minutes a day. That's, of course, with a standard account; with a gold account, the maybe extra five minutes (five quests) kicks that up to a total of 2450 per week. I'm certainly not arguing that it's necessarily easy-peasy for new players to get Token Shop items, but I would heartily disagree that it's impossible, even without WT.
The volume of available WT currency per week should allow multiple options - Token Shop items (remember, there is a wait period before you can buy again, so many times you may not be able to get all the items you want even if you're not worried about "destroying" your currencies), vending, BHH (though honestly I've never even seen stock there...bad luck, I guess!), stockpiling, whatever. While Token Shop items can run you up, there are also weeks where many of the items stocked are relatively inexpensive.
Wizard quests definitely are a useful tool for newbies, but bear in mind that nobody here is suggesting that we do away with Wizard quests! Some are simply stating that the amount of tokens that it provides, especially for Weekend Special Quests, is gratuitous. Even if it was cut from the 20/15/10 tiered by quest response time that it currently is, to 15/10/5 as and suggested, that's still 1050 tokens per week for a standard user, and 1575 for a GA user (this is assuming the numbers with no "bonus" token for the final quest of the day). That's still quite a lot of weekly currency potential!
The thing I don't get really is apparently we're taking vending out of the equation? we get 2450 tokens a week if we have a GA. Ok. But say I like to vend. I can vend 1k tokens a day. So that 2450 tokens is used up in 2-3 days and I'm left with 4-5 days with no tokens. And then BAM, TS RESTOCK, and I'm suddenly out of tokens.
This is hypothetical because I have a ton of WT that I had stocked since before the last Wiz Quest change. But we've already hacked down the amount of Wiz Tokens we get considerably. I really don't see why we need to hack them down further. There are, as Wise said, a ton of options out there for using WT. So why on earth should we knock our tokens down further? And why on earth should WT be like 4 mil for 1k anyway? Does literally everything on this site have to be hard to obtain? I don't think that's fair to the newbies who are excited to try everything out, and that's not fair to hoarders and RSers like me who don't always have all the tokens we need in a week. It's amazing, the amount of people I see in the shoutbox who don't have enough tokens when a new TS restock comes out. It's more than people think.
thanks a lot, this was wonderfully worded from start to end. for you.
The token shop never was impossible for newbies, even when the highest token given was a 10 pointer. Yeah, you couldn't achieve EVERYTHING when you were a newbie, but achieving SOME THINGS was very much possible
