I just basically wrote this on the discussion thread but I'll put it here for feedback too.
The and 's coloring/shading styles both remind me of which is from 5 years ago...
I really don't know what went wrong with those, to make them look so dated. :( Some of the other ones are nice, and the item art itself is great. I like the and the even though people seem torn on the bird of paradise, I like the idea. Smooth and flat in the front and a big frizzy puff in the back :D it reminds me of my own hair
I actually think the Raven and the Macaw wigs were done by the same artist. They both have a similar style compared to Roadrunner and Heron, who look like were drawn by a different artist. The Raven however has darker colors and a sleeker, straighter style so can get away with the little things compared to the vibrant Macaw wig. It, IMO, has thick lineart as well.
The Roadrunner and Heron are by far my favorite out of the bunch. I really do love the concept of all of them and I echo my news post comment when saying I think though the overall art itself isn't absolutely perfect, I do believe the artist did a phenomenal job capturing each birds "image" via the wigs. You can definitely see the inspiration from each bird.
I agree, most of the wigs look all plastic-y and off. Colors are okay but otherwise...not that great
I agree that the raven one looks a bit plastic but I do love the colors so much!
I too feel bad for criticizing the art because I really do think that the artists here are super talented!!
I agree with everything you said - it's all so very true.
I totally agree with you about some of the CW wigs appearing to be more flat like stickers than real wigs. I also agree with what you said about the vulture and macaw wigs - they just need some extra love-time. :)

I really really extremely want:I would have bought them all for a treasure chest but I ain't paying 150 CSC a piece! 75 CSC maybe but 150 CSC is a bit much for items only worthy for TCs.
I don't know which artist draws wigs in this style, but they should not be doing wigs. Their art needs work (their lineart is thick and the shading could use some touching up in general to not be quite so shiny) but it's not bad or anything, this very shiny/blended style does not work with a wig though.
I don't know how to explain it but it's not just the shiny factor. But I'm not an artist so I don't know wtf I'm talking about :L
I think that's a critique that came up a couple times concerning Cash Shop items, art quality is not constant. Heron wig is fine, the rest goes from okay to not so great to complete mess.
That came up with the Saevis line and that's coming up now because, while the custom items are gorgeous and totally worth the price, most of the wearables aren't. They're not up to the style Subeta is currently going for. And they're not up to what I'd pay real money for.
It really sucks to say, I don't like saying these things, but I don't want to lie to myself and say they're fine, and I don't want to lie to you
BACK ON TOPIC
The raven one is also...very bad?
I really don't see why people claim it's the best of the batch when the shading is really plastic.
Also, the issue with the bird of paradise might be because of the difference in lineart. The front part is fine, the back part is really, really blurry
They're 150 CSC each. Where did you get 250 CSC from?
A typo? I edited the post.
Same, I'll probably end up getting it too, for that fact. It'll be a good layering wig.
To me, they are not worth being in the Cash Shop. Is the CS going back to the plastic-y, tacky items again? :c
So, there's no possibility of revising these? I don't doubt that the artists worked hard, and redoing the image would be time consuming, but some of these, the macaw especially, are pretty unacceptable. There have been a few items recently with thick outlines and plasticky shading (the Este Evvu Subeautique line, for example), and this feels like the result of it being only politely addressed or overlooked until now.
Future items. But not these items. You still expect people to buy these with sub-par quality? Yikes.
You shouldn't feel bad critiquing an artist's work - how do you think it got so good in the first place? :) (Well, aside from boatloads of practice) Critique isn't necessarily all negative. All it really is, is analyzing an artist's work and giving them specific feedback on it. "This works. This doesn't work. You need to work on this more. You do this really well. I like how this bit turned out. Maybe try this and see if it works better," and so on. That's all.
Critique is necessary for an artist to get better, especially if they intend to do art professionally. You're not wrong to consider their feelings as well. But even if you absolutely hate an artist's work, it's possible to be honest without being brutal, and judge an artwork without belittling the artist themselves (or their talent). Make an effort to be civil and balanced in your critique, avoid personal comments, and you're good really.
However, having said that, and getting back to the original topic...I'm sorry, but I can't say that these wigs are the site's best work. They're okay, just not ones I personally would have put in the Cash Shop. And I'm disappointed to see that apparently they're going to stay as is, because with a little more work some of these wigs could go from being merely good to being outstanding.
I love the colors on all the wigs, but the thick black outlines on the macaw and swallow wigs in particular don't really work for me. (For some reason I'm not nearly as bothered with the thick lines on the vulture wig, though. Weird.) I'm also going to have to be in the minority and say I'm not a big fan of the raven wig. Again, I like the colors used for it and I even like the way the hair goes over the bangs - and I assume it's supposed to be a sleek look - but I'm not getting that; instead it just looks kind of flat. I do agree that the heron and roadrunner seem to be the strongest of the lot.
I think just thinning the black outlines and going into more detail on individual locks would do wonders for most of these wigs. I like the concept and there's good potential for some amazing art here. I hope that maybe they will be reworked eventually, or even in the near future. Also, if the original artist reads this, I hope you don't feel too disheartened by what you read today. Please keep drawing. You'll get better. :)
Love the concept and the items. ❤️ Though I have to agree that some turned out a little better than others.
Also I would love to see a carnival poster hoopoe mohawk

plz
These remind me of the wig box hairs - the cloud/duck thing and the earth totem one or whatever.
And those are how old?

I agree with you - I just want to make sure I am being polite by what I say and it does not come off as very rude.
:( I read Rah's comment and thought the same thing. SO sad that it seems these ones are staying this way, for the foreseeable future at leaste.

I really really extremely want:Also I'll just say that the bird of paradise is a nice style and doesnt seem disconnected to me. For me the intense shading though just makes it unusuable because to me it looks like brown hair was taken then had the saturation level turned up and the contrast similarly turned way up.
Just noticed the lightsource on it is off. On the poof on the far side by the ear and side of head it is super bright despite the fact that it should be in shadow. I supppose this would be fine if that part of the hair is meant to be sorta bleached. As it stands you have really dark shading on the bottom right side of HA's head and the poof next to that part looks to be in full noon sunlight...
wouldn't look so bad if the round portion didn't completely cover the head. When I look at it, it looks like the artist drew the portion attached at the head and then came back to it and clipped on a puff.
I think it was going for this look
Stylistically it isn't something I would likely use even if it was drawn better, but the designing seems really bizarre to me.

also this is in revamp feedback? I could have sworn it was intially in Site Feedback?
