I'm so thrilled about this! It's about time, USA. Aside from the comments on my local news station's Facebook post, my feed was full of celebration today.
I started tearing up too! Such a nice thing to login to find after a nap. I'm so glad that this happened where I live before I got to a marrying age. I can't imagine what it must be like for the people who aren't nearly as close to this; I hope that they can celebrate a similar victory sometime soon as well!
I'm honestly so excited!
I only wish we could start including people of other sexualities and genders instead of people in the media always saying "gays and lesbians can get married".
Still, it's such a great step forwards!!
(p.s.: your avatar looks like every girl i've ever had a crush on lol. I love it!)
Congrats to everyone who can now marry the person they love!
The same day I read that some people in my country are trying to take step backwards and undo some of the progress that has already been made it makes me really happy to read something huge and positive like this.
CONGRATS AMERICA ON THIS HISTORIC VICTORY! What a time to be alive! I'm hoping my kids and future generations will be able to know and experience freedom of love in all forms.

Wow, so we're only 2 months behind Mexico. eyeroll About damn time our politicians got their heads out of their asses.
On a cheerier note (rofl)... I'm SUPER happy that this finally happened. Not for myself (as I'm straight) but for some of my friends and for everyone else who just simply wants to marry the person they love. I think it's ridiculous in this day and age that people argue about love when they should be looking into problems that are actually problems..you know, like ending illiteracy? Feeding starving children? Stopping hate and war?
Oh dear...I guess that turned into a rant again. So to make up for that...have some HAPPEH!!

all i have to do now is find a sweet girl to marry~! <3 soooo happy!
I almost teared up. One of the best things to have happened recently, honestly. Hopefully in a few years it will reach my overly conservative country too.
When I saw the news headline two days ago, I thought I had misread it. But, after seeing so many people celebrating on Facebook, I realized I did read the news headline right! And then, super happy dance!!!
As a heterosexual female, I have always been an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. So, seeing a huge step forward like this is so exciting! I have a few lesbian and bi friends, and I'm so happy they can get married and have their marriages recognized all over the US.
There's still a ton of work to be done around the world and in the US discrimination wise, but for now, let's celebrate this progress.
I remember getting to work to a text from a friend: "CHECK THE NEWS!!" I'm thrilled that this is a thing, and that people that love one another can finally be recognized and have access to all the legal benefits that come with being married.
Congratulations to all the newlyweds--the world wishes you the best :)
I am only hoping it comes over to Europe to be honest and people start opening their eyes because as it stands, no one at work beside a couple buddies know my status.
this actually made me so happy, my girlfriend and i can actually get married without having to relocate. <3 such a blessing and i'm so happy for it :)
Just wanted to pop in (since I've beem mia for a while) and say that I legitimately screamed a bit when I saw the news!! So happy! I'm glad to see you guys finally catching up to Canada, lol.
I was so excited that it became legal. This has been fought so hard and long for, so glad this happened.
