It pains me because there&;s a Christmas village figurine set I really really want and it&;s ridiculously expensive, it&;s just taunting me every time I walk in that damn store.

imagining snowmen going "na na na NA na" at Darkrai Heheh you are adorbs~

But anyway, on topic... I don't mind the change, although I didn't mind the way it was before. If more users are happy with year-round availability, I'm cool with it. I do miss the alerts, so I hope there will be a way to get those going again :) (Because I am forgetful, sigh...)

Seasonal rotation was introduced in 2013.

The Millionaire Center was onsite prior to 2006.

The MC was not meant to be a special shop.

Seasonal rotation was done to make items more valuable, the majority of the users wanted more efficient, more convenient money sinks. So, seasonal rotation was done away.

At this point, I'm going to tell one. last. thing. This is most likely the worst fallacy I could bring, and the biggest exaggeration. But, I am going to own up to it.

If you are against money sinks equilibrating the economy and making SP actually valuable, you're playing this game against the rest of the userbase.

If you're against SP regaining worth again, because we will actually have INTERESTING and DESIRABLE feature to spend out SP on, you are no friend of mine.

To a degree I get the whole "special" remark, at least in regards to "excited for the new items". However, unless I'm mistaken that's still going to be the case right?

Like no one on staff said they were going to stop doing new seasonal releases because of this change? So Idk, that's really what I liked the most about the whole seasonal thing-- because before that change the MC was the least special thing on site. It never ever got new stock, ever, 90% of the time olds tock never even made its way back xD;

So as long as we're getting new things every few months, I don't have a problem with this change at all. Especially because UGH YES @ TCs??

Can we talk about how in the course of 9 months I really really NEED something that just went away like a month ago and by the time I can buy it again ... I forgot why I needed it in the first place. That really sucks, so I'm glad I just have to pay some royalties to get something I need NOW while I still remember why I wanted it |D

Actually my only issue with this is the fact that the alerts don't work (which I wasn't aware of) because I'm of the opinion that anything with a wait deserves an alert option.

That's actually why we went to seasonal in the first place because the artists were generally too busy focusing on other things (plots, events, etc) to do new things all the time for the millionaire center. With the seasons, we could get items four times a year with a pretty broad theme (as an example snow, ice, blues, etcetc for winter). Now we have monthly themes, so I wouldn't be surprised if we got a few items to add every month or so in there that will still fit within seasons. Like maybe next month, we might get an item or two that will fit the theme that'll stay in the summer tab. :) We will for sure still have some new items at the start of every season, though!

Also, we are working on the alerts!

Basically this. The seasonal thing wasn't around long enough for me to become too attached to it, so I don't mind this new change.

Plus it's one less thing for me to track in my deadline thread. :P

(And I tried the scalping thing for a while, but couldn't get anyone to buy my books off-season, so whatever.)

The seasonal change was trying to make it special. It just made it annoying, but at least gave us new/cool themes.

Now we get new/cool themes, an sp sink, and at least much much less annoyance (%25 vs trying to buy from users).

I'm ok with this. There are other areas that can be 'special'. The MC was never -that- special to begin with, more 'limited because reasons'.

Think about it this way.

ALL ITEMs are at base price.

Then when the season rolls around, you get SPECIAL SEASONAL items for 20% off!!

It's only a store to spend millions.. why it needs to be special?

I like the change, now the MC is PERFECT, one hour wait and have everything that you want.

I really like this change, and I don't mind spending the extra 125% to buy something I want two seasons away.

The only thing I miss are the alerts. :P

The store has been designed as a very efficient sP sink. With the seasonal items it was fun but it got rather cumbersome, especially if you're someone who goes to school and works and doesn't have time to get things on-season.

There's a reason things off season are more expensive. Plus, this gives people like myself who are very busy with outside things to be able to have a set goal to get those "seasonal" items, even if it's at a greater price. This also means that the value of sP will get better. I think it's fine, there was nothing "speacial" really about a shop literally put in place for you to spend millions all at once in.

I'm quite fond of the new change, and I am very pleased to see new goodies each season. I've been wanting more consistency in these static shops since the abolishment of the trivia.

I don't mind the change. IIRC, the MC wasn't always a seasonal shop anyway? (Rotating stock, yes, but I feel like when I joined the site, there weren't deliberate "this is the spring set" releases like there are now.)

And tbh, I can't say I was always good at remembering to purchase things before the time limit was up before. :'D Switching it so that it remains an sP sink -- rather than just a method for users to buy and move the sP around in the economy -- seems in line with the shop's intent.

You don&;t see winter stuff for sale during off-season in RL stores, why here? Same with the other seasons.

WELL FIRST OF ALL HALLMARK HAS CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS YEAR ROUND I KNOW THIS BECAUSE MY MOTHER HAS THIS WEIRD OBSESSION WITH HALLMARK CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS AND SOMETIMES I LIKE TO STOCK UP IN ADVANCE BECAUSE DEALS

Also, any clothing retail store, after a season is over, all of that season's clothes actually go on sale, like super hard-core sale, so they have room for the incoming stock. Like, oh Winter's over? You need a new jacket? This is the BEST time to buy it. Bathingsuits? Wait until after Summer, because that shit is still there and it's gonna be cheap.

So in other words, MC is actually backwards if were gonna compare this to the real world. ... so let's not do that, because that's not logical. Subeta =/= RL

Anyway, I like this. Will I use it? Probably not because idk 25% extra on expensive items is still expensive, and there is nothing I need right now. But it's nice for everyone else, and I'm glad. :3 sP sinks for days.

I like the change. No more waiting for a ceartain season to start to buy Items I need for Treasures or for collections. I'll gladly pay the extra sP then.

I adore this change. It means I dont have to stress and drop millions on collection items until I am ready to work on the collection. I dont miss out, I just have to pay a bit more. Mama like.

I don't see how the mc rotating stock was 'special' tbh I hated when they made the change, Now I'm happy I can buy what I want all year round, even if it is at an inflated price! ^_^

- Don't forgot that fashion stuff shows up a whole season before they are needed. Nothing like buying shorts and tank tops in the dead of winter!
