Hoping this somehow ties in the minion battling feature that seems to have been forgotten by staff. :(
The only complaint I have with this feature is that the instructions were not explained well enough.
I had no idea what/where I was supposed to look for my bird. My bird had no region name in its name, and I had no idea I was supposed to refresh in that region for said bird until I got a floating event. If I hadn't read the news comments, I wouldn't have been able to piece together the instructions. Was I supposed to buy the bird? Was I supposed to wait for a random event? Was it a floater? Where did I refresh for i t?
This would be very frustrating for newbies or those who don't read the news comments! Please improve the instructions of this daily.

It's a cute little daily, I like it. Also like the idea of changing the "stock" every few months, whether it's a different flock of birds, or insects, flowers and plants, snails, or whatever. (Hey, could even go fairy or ghost sightseeing if we wanted to get a little more fanciful.) That way it could stay fresh and interesting without (I assume) too much maintenance.
EDIT: I do agree that some instruction would be nice, though. I mean, most of us can probably figure it out on our own eventually, but it never hurts to be clear. Especially since we're given a book to start with - that makes it seem like we need to take a look at it first and then look for the bird, since that's generally (I assume) how birdwatching works.
I mean, I know books don't work that way on Subeta, but I actually thought at first it would function kind of like a plot item that we could look at multiple times, maybe see a simple map showing the general area or migrating patterns of the bird in question, read a blurb about more specific places to look ("Centropolis Pigeons tend to congregate around statues or gardens - any place they think they can easily find a meal," or something). Then the next day, we refer to the book again for a different bird, repeat until all birds are found, get a little prize and congrats for completing the collection.
But then I looked at the options in the inventory and saw that nope, it's just a regular book. Which is fine, I like having more books to read to my pets! I'm just saying, it's a little confusing as to how we're supposed to do the actual birdwatching, and giving us the book right away makes it seem more significant than it really is...especially if you're new and not used to how Subeta does things yet.
EDIT again: I'm slow. Thanks for the clarification! :)
Okay, so I've included a message on the page where Rosemary tells you to find a particular bird. This is what it says:
You can find the birds yourself by navigating Subeta - in some cases, the birds name will indicate it is likely to be found in a certain area! When you see it floating, click on it and it will appear in your inventory!
:)
Thanks for the new change!
Hopefully this will clear up some confusion in regards to where to find the birds and make things more fun and less frustrating.

I am not old. I am gracefully aged
can this get a daily reset like the rest of the dailies? I'm still stuck on the first day's request
I vote for Inca Terns
(Props to Google for knowing exactly what I wanted from the search term "moustache bird".)
I am in love with that gif. LOVE IT SO MUCH.
I love the birbs, I love this little daily. I used to birdwatch out the window (lots of sparrows and house finches, whoo) and now I can do it virtually.
I would love to see more birds added to this! BIRDWATCH ALL THE BIRBS
Would love to see some seabirds as well. Gulls, plovers, dunlins, puffins, albatrosses, and heck, maybe even ALIEN BIRDS/Bird-equivalents for Atebus. xD
Love this guy in particular:
re: a reset button
we could add in a cancel button, but honestly it'd be a little bit pointless. i assume the only reason someone would have to cancel would be the omen islands bird, right? because you can't go there?
the reason it would be pointless is that your first 15 requests are just going to cycle through the birds you haven't found yet before it's actually random. so at some point, even if you cancel the omen islands bird, after you get the other 14, you're just going to keep getting the omen islands bird every single day.
so, while a cancel button is definitely possible, it would only actually be potentially useful after you've found the initial set of all of the birds (in which case you obviously already have access to everywhere so i don't see how it'd be particularly useful then either, tbh).
for the sake of it being a "daily" shouldn't it reset each day if not completed anyways?
I'll get past the first day challenge eventually.... I'm just being greedy and waiting for the bird to deflate
Why do you need to wait for the bird to deflate? (are you on omen island is that why you are waiting)
no, I'm on darkside kite. I'm waiting because I'm greedy. I made a hefty profit selling it the first day :P (and it has deflated actually)
I'm just being difficult. :D Buuuuuut I still think it should reset everyday if it is a daily. :P
