It wasn't the thing I usually read, but it meant a lot to Jeremy that we read it together, so I pushed through it. It was written well and I didn't dislike it by any means, but sad things happened, a character I really like was killed, and I just don't want to continue now. ;_; It's like A Song of Ice and Fire - favorite character died, now reading it feels like a chore.

I just prefer reading, I guess. ;w; I'd rather read something than watch it. I don't do that with all things, like I watch Pretty Little Liars (though I'm not at all caught up, I've missed an entire season) but I won't read those books, but for the most part I prefer books to tv shows. And I guess another reason I originally didn't want to watch it is because it comes on STARZ which means uncensored sex and even if it's not full-on porn IIIII get pretty uncomfortable watching that.

The book ended with basically all of the protagonists failing in their mission against the bad guys. It's a series, I'm sure they might gain the upper hand eventually, but... nah. I tried to force my way through A Song of Ice and Fire but I started it two years ago and I'm only half-way through book two. :|

really? i always prefer watching to reading. yeah, there's a lot of nudity and sex in GoT. i could see how that would squick you out.

that's an interesting twist though! they usually win.

I totally don't mind endings that are twisted and shit, but I guess it's different when it ends with death of a character I'm so invested in, especially if it's a series.

that makes sense though, bc english speaking ppl are not used to reading subtitles. unless you watch the dubs. i can't really focus very well on books so reading is just awful. i can't concentrate on what i'm reading most of the time.

Yeah, they do all die in GoT, but Idc so much if I don't really love them. ;_; After my fave died I was pretty devastated and now Idk. It also doesn't help that I've accidentally run into soooo many spoilers on the internet and spoilers ruin things for me a little.

subs are fun! the dubbed voices annoy me a lot, it just doesn't sound right.

Ahh, I can agree on that. I was watching an anime once, one that was also a manga that I'd already read, and hearing the voices after reading the manga was really... jarring, kind of. I was not impressed and kind of disappointed.
