I don't think challenger loot or anything will be changing, at least not right away. I do think we are going to have to figure out how to handle all the things that are retired and we left at their original rarities.

I really wish someone would add thise face masks. I can never get it to work right for me...

Thanks for adding them. I edited the tags, included the mask tag as well as the accessory. I know the mask tag is not what we were thinking when we added it. It will be interesting to see if these work for masq.

You are right - as far as it seemed, only items r1-r99 are being squished. I'm not sure how to help the folks that based their checklists on rarities tbh =/

-- I'll figure out a way that people's custom collections will stay intact. They won't gain any new items if they're coded to a rarity that's disappearing, but I'll make sure that the items in the collection stay there and the collection doesn't disappear.

It's important to me that we don't treat our members' efforts as cavalierly as Subeta does.

thanks for that! I get so frustrated at the amount of work I've had to redo due to Subeta changes.

Like its great to fix stuff, update, changes, etc, but how difficult is it to do so without invalidating the hours upon hours that we've spent working to make this right for ourselves. Not to mention adding yet more tedious hours to "fix it" after they're done with their changes.

: Couple of changes on our end in preparation for Subeta's rarity squish (which might happen next month, or ten years from now. With Subeta you never know...)

  1. When you go to manually edit an item, there's a field for "old rarity" and "new rarity". "Old rarity" is what we're currently using, and we'll preserve these values after the squish in order to maintain existing checklists. "New rarity" doesn't do anything yet, but will eventually be the squished rarity (and we'll start displaying that on the item pages).

  2. The cron currently updates the spelling, description, and rarity of all items with rarity < 200 (not custom clothing, but everything else. We could add custom clothing as well, but that would make it take longer to get through all the items.) I've set things up so that when the squish finally occurs, I can 'flip a switch' and have the cron update just rarity 1-99 items until it's completed an entire cycle. That'll get the items updated a little faster.

I'm hoping they'll give us enough notice before actually doing this that we can make an announcement about what to expect at SubetaLodge when it happens.

Ugh...I'm not sure what I should be doing right now, about these rarity items. Do I hoard higher rarity items because they'll become harder to get, or do I try fragging a bunch because after the "squish" I may not get as many crystals?

A. I can't believe you did all that after being away for days and then driving home! B. Old and new rarity seems to be a great solution C. Flipping a switch is great D. I would ask for a heads up but I am on the poop list with Keith right now. Maybe someone else should do it.

I will try to remember to make sure the rarities are going in the right spots if/when I add regular site items :)

Anything you mass-add will put the rarity in the right place. The only time you need to be careful is if you are editing an item.

Oh excellent then :) And I assume this is gonna save all those collections that were based on rarity which is awesome and also I hope the users appreciate that you did that for them.

: We didn't really 'save' anything, we just froze it: People who had a collection for 'R99 Foods' (for example) won't see food items disappearing from their collection when Subeta 'squishes' them from r99 to r4 or r5, but since no new items will be given the designation r99, those checklists won't gain any new items either. As time moves forward and new rare foods get released, those checklists will be outdated for the purposes of tracking rare food, but I don't see anything we can do about that. In any case, we won't be the cause of users losing functionality on SubetaLodge.

I think I'm following haha. But either way, you've done a lot to help folks keep their current records at least, which I hope they appreciate ❤️

I am wondering if the name change will affect anything on our site for collections tied to pet lists...

I wondered that too, and then I fixed my pet name for the pet whose collections are on there....and had to readd. I didn't have any issues readding the stuff. If folks change their pet name, they just have to go in and redo it like I did. The collections themselves are added based on pet ID and you going into your own pet's info spaces (books read, food eaten) so it doesn't cause any issues. My lists match up perfectly.

: Hmm. Maybe we should make it possible for a user to change a pet name on SubetaLodge without having to re-mass-add their book and food lists.

It didn't take me that long, but also an easier option would be nice haha. Idk how that would work though (unless we tie the lists to pet ID instead somehow, since that never changes).

not having to do everything over would be great if it is possible without too much trouble.

Meanwhile, someone messaged me because the HA image their new ha would ct from will not update from an HA that is several weeks old. Mine is stuck there too, it seems. Tried clearing cache, etc, no go. and you know, it is a big deal to be able to change something no one else will ever see.

omg I just have to bring to your attention this post from the help forum, made by solsticesprite

I personally have blocked users who have not contacted me in any way shape or form because I have found their other postd(s) or public action(s) with other users so objectionable that I know ahead of time I don&;t want to see anything they have to say.</p>
<p>FWIW I also block users who are extremely wordy but don&;t have anything interesting to communicate that they coudn&;t have done much more concisely. If you can tweet, you can edit yourself.

<p>Mackenzi shop purchases are possible, site glitches are possible, and it is possible to also encounter them on dance/flower the user above threads.</p>
<p>As for shop purchases, the main reason for the Block feature is to prevent communications. If someone I have blocked decides for whatever reason (questing fast, I have the best deal, I have the only one etc) to buy one of my items I don&;t care. I now have their sP and at my own price! For an item I didn&;t even want. Mua ha ha!</p>
<p>IMO putting something in your shop instead of Trade-ing it means you have the item out there on the open market.

I've never blocked anyone on here that I never interacted with, but I've blocked a few people on Facebook who've left really offensive/racist/violent comments in threads of my friends -- it lowers my blood pressure not to have to read that kind of crap more than once.

Solsticesprite's a douchebag for many reasons. But as far as I'm concerned, self-care isn't one of them.

: The HA problems have to do with the change to the new new new new Wardrobe. I'm working on it.
