New Feature!

Now you can create personal notes for items. Here's how it works:

1. Visit the item detail page for any item like this one.
2. Click the 'add note' link.
3. You can enter a personal note for that item. The note is part of your account, and not part of the item's records, so it won't affect other users.

Some of the things I was thinking people might use it for:

• Keeping track of favorite costumes, say by tagging all of the clothing that makes up a certain costume.
• Recording gift lists
• Tracking prizes from user-created contests, say, to keep a record of who won what.

Right now, this feature is staff-only -- you're the guinea pigs and beta testers! So let me know if you see something amiss or see a way to improve the feature before we roll it out.

P.S. It's not obvious, because there's no link to delete a note, but you can delete a note by editing it and making it blank.

oh my yes! I will try it out tomorrow. I can see using for those pesky genetech items, or maybe wardrobe things that I keep wanting to use and keep losing!

Is there a way to search for personal notes? Find them without knowing the item name? perhaps a way to make a checklist out personal note items?

I'm on Firefox for mobile and logged in as staff, but I'm not seeing an 'add note' link on any items.

I love this. I actually asked for it years and years ago and was told it was not possible and too stupid to even try to figure out.

I can see people using this for CWs in particular. Private they own or have released and who they went to.

My reply Hmm, works fine for me. Did you perhaps get logged out? I know every once in a while I get logged out automatically. That's the only thing that would cause that, I think. Original smail Heya just wanted to quick letcha know that on subetalodge it suddenly went where when you search an item it no longer shows which checklists they are in. Dunno if this is just an accidental thing, an on purpose change, or a bug.

: I'm working on a search function for personal notes. Because personal notes aren't stored in the item records, the 'regular' search function won't look for them; there's a way to do a search, but it'll require a little bit of new code.

Like I can see this being super useful for a number of things, most especially for notes on cws I've released.

Got this reply: Well whatever is going on seems to be fine now, I cleared my cache once cause that usually helps and then logged out and logged back in and its working. So I dunno. Weird glitch thing I guess. XD

I do think there should be a button to delete the note. You know, for those people who are n ot as smart as we are ;)

: I did that accidentally for a few minutes. When restricting the new personal notes feature to staff only, I typoed the command to turn off the restriction so everything below the personal notes were also blocked. That shouldn't have lasted for more than a few minutes. If teardrop246 still can't see their checklist links, let me know and I'll look into it further, but everything looks okay on the non-staff account I use for testing.

Its all good now, they had to clear their cache to get it working again though.

I see it on some items and not others. Just ion looking at the first page of new items I don't see it on the cash shop backgrounds but I do on the items from the trunk.

Not on the cws either.
