LOL I still have stuff on my todo list, but I think I'll skip it and go play Skyrim. I can keep subeta open on one screen and still kiss while playing on the other. I tested it yesterday and it doesn't slow the game down too much.

Hey, should I do something on my end to not be on passive mode? Is being passive a bad thing? lol

: Passive is slightly faster, but requires an extra port be kept open on the server. I'm trying to keep as few ports open as possible (keeps resources and server costs down), but one extra port isn't going to make or break anything.

Here's a slightly more involved explanation:
When we say that a server opens a 'port', that server actively has to monitor whether someone is trying to connect on that port and respond to that connection. We have a port open for incoming web requests, one for outgoing email (like when a user needs a password reset), one for database connections, two for FTP, and two for system controls (that's seven total) We're currently on a single-CPU plan with Linode (going to two CPUs doubles our costs), and so that single CPU has to monitor and respond to all seven ports. The more things it has to do, the slower things get.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, though. I've been monitoring the CPU usage, and in the past 24 hours, we peaked at 61%, which means we're still not maxing out the server.

if there is some setting on my end to change it then I will. I don't need it to be SO fast. I don't see anything offhand but maybe you know what I should look for that I am not seeing. I am out of here for a bit but will check back later

No problem at all. I'm glad we had notes that helped us sort out what should've happened.

Once I sorted by date, it was obvious that the dateless notes were all from the introduction of bonus items and I guess the note convention wasn't worked out until much later when the bonus items began appearing on a regular schedule.

Only one ended up being tricky - they offered two bonuses in one month, two weeks apart for the same payment method. And I'd stopped reading the news page right after I found the first one, so I had to go back and look again. Otherwise its was pretty straightforward.

so much more logical than my plan, which was to just go through the archives forever haha.

Thanks! In some ways it was tough because it whites out anything behind it, but once I worked that out there were a lot of options for foreground or partial items.

It's looking pretty great. And should work with the next stage of that too.
