I got on this morning and I was kinda shocked to see that all the little close buttons on the events have been replaced by a big bulky trash can that covers the text of the event and looks kinda tacky.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
The trash can of the event category has fallen onto the next line. Nice.
Really loving how it covers the text here.
update: I tried clicking on the "here" link to go to my dance, it deleted the event because I was apparently too close to the delete button. Awesome.
Oh neat a scrollbar
Okay, uh, I don't see why those two scrollbars were necessary
Is there... a reason this event got 2 scrollbars with no actual scroll thing to grab?
This is so tacky to me that I hope it's a mistake and in which case this can be moved to bugs. I know people were having trouble removing events or something and hopefully this trash can somehow helps, but it would be nice if it was a little less.... the way it is.

They are too big. I went to click on a dance event and accidentally deleted it. The trash is over the writing of an event and was so close. Not like I lost anything just saying though. It looked a lot 'neater' before.

There's always been weird scroll bars, but eh. Really don't understand why the 2 different trash cans are 2 different sizes. One where it normally would be to delete the column is kind of average and one is all over the text.

Looks like things are being added for the kiddies and elderly again. Unnecessarily giant buttons and text seems to be a growing trend on this site.
Yeah, I don't like it either. I also ended up deleting a dance event instead of going to the accept page because that enormous button is apparently overlapping the link. Cool.
I loooaaaaathe this new feature so much! So very, VERY much! It needs to die! No one asked for this.
I think the size of the trashcan would be ok if they just removed the red flap thing. Color the actual trashcan red or something.
I could live with a cosmetic update (even though I don't like it), if it would also help with deleting events instantly, but (unsurprisingly) it's not.
I'm not sure what was wrong with the old event removal button... I'm also not keen on the reduced visibility of the removal button for the whole category of events.
It would also be nice if updates like this were also added to the events widget as well. Individual event deletion has been fucky on that for ages.
It bothers me, the huge red triangle. It's very distracting.
This update is actually rather annoying. It's a good idea, but it covers too much of the text. Most events, I already know what they say. But for ones that aren't typical, I wouldn't be able to read it all. Also, you can't click all of the links in the events because they apparently are too close to the button to delete, which is just bad coding in my opinion.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, I do like the idea of bigger delete buttons, as it make it a little quicker to delete a lot of events quickly when you don't want to delete the whole category. But currently, they're not fully functional.
Yeah, I'm really not impressed with this change. I haven't been able to accept any dance requests since it's been implemented, since it's too close to the trash can and just deletes the notification instead of following the link.
Not to mention it's just too big and, honestly, pretty ugly to begin with (I use the Riverside Valley theme, so it's suuuper contrast-y against the green).
And, for me at least, it seems to work just the same as the old system did; I close 'em, but they still show up for the next couple refreshes before actually disappearing. No actual "update" beyond the visual. =/
I'm finding these new icons a bit annoying. This is mostly because of the fact that if I move my mouse over it, it takes a short time to register that I've moved away from it. This time is barely a second but still an issue when slecting things. I've deleted a couple of events I had no wish to loose thanks to that. Bigger buttons are easier to see but after the old style the pages now seemed rather cluttered. Maybe I just need some time to get used to it.
It would have been fine if it was smaller. Taking up half the event text is just plain rude.
I was going to say I don't mind if their bulky as long as they actually delete and stay deleted this time...that failed too-.- It's the same. I have to click them twice for them to stay dead :(
No fear, everyone! I made a few tiny edits with CSS for the following:
Here's the code!
.ui.corner.label:after {
display: none;}
.ui.red.labels .label, .ui.red.label { color: !important;}
.ui.corner.label .icon {
margin: 2em 0em 0em 1.25em;}
And a preview~

I apologize for mass ping, but I wanted to let you know! LuckBurnside, you can feel free to edit this into your first post if you wish! far Faeflower Dominic Predator Natasha Evy Dice Jimmy Iratze
Art by ~ Sig by ~If we must use this new trash can icon, just put it where the red button was. Big ugly red triangle covering up part of the event is unnecessary.
Edit: Thanks It look much better with your code :)
Job Agency Guide and Discussion [tot=Riza]
Tacky, useless, and more of a pain than a help... good job. This is a really awful change. We don't need giant eyesore delete buttons hiding the text/links in our events.
They're way too big, or at least the click field is. The link for "will you accept this dance?" is so close to the red triangle that clicking the wrong place on the dance link erases the alert instead of actually taking you to the requested dance. That's not cool.
Edit: or yeah, what the OP said.
Not a fan... The delete button was never an issue, in my opinion. The fact that you delete events and then they reappear is an issue.
