I'm not sure if it's been removed, or if it glitched XD subeta experience
Got him once this morning within a few dances, hoping the rate was tweaked! (If so, I'm very glad for that. Clicked hundreds of times yesterday.)
Laughing at the solution found for the button problem, I mean... if something is causing trouble, just remove it! Maybe switching the colors around would've been a nicer solution? And/or making the duel button bigger than the other, or making the other not be a button at all and just a tiny link? Not that it matters much, it's just kind of silly. xD

posted in the thread in the Bugs forum about the change:
Also: I&;ve removed the green button option (the "take me back to the forums") because I agree, that&;s totally annoying and not the right color. Sorry about that!</p>

I think this is a good way to get people to actually go to the dance floor, which i imagine was the point. It takes less than 5 seconds per dance to open a new tab with the dance floor on it, quickly see if it's got a pop-up for the duel or not and then x-out the tab and it can be done en-masse. Not wanting to take the time is pure laziness and I don't think the site should ever specifically cater to laziness. Also events and the like are easily missed when mashing f5 so I'm not sure that's a better idea either.
While I absolutely would have preferred if it was a battle challenger RE like Ice King, I think it's fine for what it is, and I've also greatly enjoyed reading the dialog.
I like this idea of this, but I'm starting to give up on it. Since this was announced, I've had at least 200 dances, but no RE. I switched browsers for a bit thinking it was my adblock or firefox acting oddly, but still no RE. I know it should be working since people are getting it, but I don't think my luck is THIS bad...

aw yeaaah finally got him and i get the blank page of death.

The idea's not bad, but I hate the whole execution.
If I hadn't read a staff comment about it, I wouldn't have picked up on the whole rock-paper-scissors thing. There's nothing intuitive about the three choices and how they work.
There's also nothing to indicate how many rounds you're supposed to go for. I guess it's supposed to be best 2-out-of-3? And then if you get a tie you go for another round? Again, it's not at all clear.
And then you have to read the dialogue after each round to figure out what's even going on. Yeah, it's just a sentence or two, but it's still annoying to have to parse that information each time. There's no way to tell at a glance whether you won or not.
Bleh. :/

Ugh. I have to agree 10000%. I had heard it was Rock Paper Scissors before, but then I heard it was a duel with swords and was like what the heck.
Now it makes more sense. -____________-
you've been lucky if it's been 1-100 for you. I have had him cut in a total of 2 times the entire time he's been around. I haven't even had him cut in at all in the past 2 days and that would account for literally hundreds of dances :( I'm just glad there were only 2 achievements and they weren't leveled to get eg. 5 wins, 10 wins etc
I enjoy the dancefloor, because it shows what everyone's wearing and helps me make the next day's mask and costume. To me, it's part of the party. I'm smug when mine's the best and I'm in awe when I see something awesome (much more likely, alas).
I love that the dancefloor gets the extra attention this year.
I am a bit miffed that I have to try for him a second time just to try to LOSE to him now :P If I ever can find him again...
I managed to find him 3 times, with two wins and one loss. However, I think I had quite a few dances on the first day when I was desperately trying to get him to show up. In my paranoia, I removed all my Custom CSS to see if that affected it in any way; I really don't think it does. I had to wait a long time for him to show up the first time, and the second and third came quicker.
One of my main complaints with the event, was that it was poorly explained. Like other users have stated, I had to rely on going through comments until I finally got the gist of what was going on. The news post was not clear enough.
It was a fun little side event for Masq but I do wish that it had been better executed.

I ran into him many times, but the first few were of course blank pages I could do nothing with. Then there was that day he didn't show up for anyone at all. After that was dealt with, I lost every single time and never did get that other achievement. I tried to get in as many dances in as I could towards the end, but it was like pulling teeth due to intense site lag.
New features that don't work are not fun. Games of chance are not fun. Lag is not fun. This was not fun.
As Solsticesprite says. :)
Clarity on the duel-rules would be good, and a bit higher frequency events (as you can get nothing some duels!). But I had no lag problems, and the event appeared in both firefox & silk OK.
I got the event quite a bit. Though it could have been a bit more frequent, maybe if you lost? That's about the only issue I had. Like if the event shows up after 100 dances, you lose so it drops down to 90. When you win it goes back up to 100. Have a limit it drops to of course. I went a whole day without getting the event and I was doing a lot of dancing that day.
I lucked out in that I got to play with it before it was suppose to be released. I think I won like 2 or 3 times then. So I understood what I was suppose to be doing. But yeah, the news post could have been loads clearer on what you needed to do.
