Felix frowned a bit; what did it mean to reunite with their families..? It sure sounded like she was suggesting some form of death. However the fact that there were people out there who literally had a book on how to tell them apart from regular humans distracted her. Felix slowly stroked the undead dog's fur one last time before standing, reaching for the piece of paper Victoria had scribbled on. "Hey--" She started to say but the woman was gone. Felix went to the door and stuck her head out, looking up and down the street; Victoria was nowhere in sight. Frowning the dark-haired woman stepped back into the house before shutting the front door. It seemed like the only way they would have more or their questions answered would be to go to this woman's address.

Percy seemed to be enjoying all of the attention he was being given, licking his own nose. As for Garret, he started to become impatient. Will those hunters be coming here? What will happen to the humans? Will they be able to get away? He shook his head, shaking himself out of his thoughts. "So..." He started, "When is the pizza getting here?" As if on cue, a knock was heard upon the door. "I'll get it." Garret said, opening the door to reveal the pizza guy, holding two medium-sized pizza boxes.

As Victoria walked down the somewhat empty street from Anya's residence, a familiar smell hit her sensitive nose like a speeding bullet. She stopped in her tracks and covered her nose, gagging. It was the smell of her kind's blood, a sickening smell for her. She pulled up her jacket to cover her mouth and nose before running toward the scent, still clinging to the shadows. She halted and quickly hid in an alleyway as she reached the source: two Hunters and a bleeding Summoner. Yet there was something weird; the older hunter helped the wounded Summoner while the other stood in what looked to be anger and shock. Victoria stared at the older hunter before it finally came to her. "Brazen." She growled under her breath.

Despite her hiding, there had been a few time where she had come across Brazen. The first time, she was in her first hideout with others that had been closer to her age, mostly Summoners. He was just a beginner on his first raid. Within moments of their first encounter, he had killed most of her group and Victoria narrowly escaped with her life. The second time, one of her identities, Kate Reynolds, was compromised by one of his higher-ups and Brazen was taken along to see if he was able to take his place. The third and last time, Victoria unluckily crossed paths with him and he recognized her by the scars on her palms. Regardless of his profession, she had a deeply rooted hatred for him that stemmed from something else. He seemed to show a fake horror in the back of his eyes as he massacred Summoners. She hated it. How dare he lie to them in their last moments. How dare he pretend like he actually gave a damn. It made her blood boil to see his face.

Slowly, she made her way out of the alleyway and stood in front of them, eyes covered by the hood to conceal her identity. A smirk glued to her face. "What is this all about, gentlemen? Decide to hurt a pretty girl for some fun?"

Anya smiled and shook her head at Garret. "We're safe here for a while," she answered his thoughts. When he stood to retrieve the pizza, Jakob walked over with the money and paid for the two boxes. Mrs. Bruschev took the boxes from Garret and put them on the table, opening them both and placing a roll of paper towels between them to serve as plates and napkins in one. Ivan instinctively grabbed two slices, one for him and one for Anya. She heard his footsteps approach her and put her hands out. He carefully placed it in her hands with the tip pointing toward her. She curled her fingers around the crust and began to eat.

Matthias stared at Brazen in shock, unsure of whether to believe him or not. But the man was older and more experienced than he was, and so he forced himself to bite his tongue and allow the Hunter's unusual methods to continue. He was going to open his mouth to offer to help when a voice made him jump, and both of his guns flew up again.

He relaxed a little in embarrassment when he realized it was just a girl, although he was unhappy that he couldn't see this one's eyes either. Her smirk didn't help the situation, either. He lowered his firearms to his side, but didn't put them away. He was surrounded by uncomfortable situations; he needed the guns in his hands to make himself feel safe.

Brazen wasn't paying attention to the newcomer, relieved that Matthias so far had bought his story, and that he hadn't offered to help, at least not yet. He didn't turn from Elsidy as he half-knelt to deal with the wound, a handkerchief out to use as a make-shift bandage. He'd had to do that for himself on more than occasion. Memories of "that psychotic, ancient shifter" giving him more than one injury floated across his mind. Why couldn't there be some sort of Healer Immortal, I could get behind that. Would have been much better than one of the two most blasphemous Immortals of all for a daughter. "No," he said aloud in answer to Victoria's question, voice showing his fatherly concern, "There was just a bit of an accident is all. The wound's not grievous, she'll be okay."

Elsidy relaxed now that Brazen had gotten Matthias not to try to kill her, but only in the sense that she wasn't pumping with adrenaline. She had better hearing than he thought, probably because she feigned so much innocence. Maybe bringing her father along was a stupid idea after all. For following another Summoner for so long, Elsidy had picked up some of his tactics for destroying a trail. Maybe she could do it on her own now. She studied the stranger, noting the hood. That was unusual, and Elsidy was only used to the unusual with her own circumstances, her dad carrying a sword, her own desire to hide her eyes. She knew she was naive to the world, there could be another explanation perhaps - she'd been kept hidden indoors for long enough. But after running into another hunter when they'd been tracing blood...she looked hopefully over at Victoria.

Victoria approached slowly and examined the girl. "You poor thing." She said, keeping her eyes hidden. At one point, she pulled up the fingerless gloves to hide the scars that may have been noticed by Brazen at the joints of her ten digits. She took a better look at the girl and noticed her eyes. They were dark, darker than the night and it brought a smile to Victoria's face. "I'm pretty experienced with wounds like this. Do you care if I took a peek?" She showed a gleam of her tricolored eyes to Elsidy before covering them again.

"If not, I suggest you take her to the hospital. Grievous or not, there is risk of infection." With one extra look at the girl and Brazen, a connection clicked in her head. She could use it to her advantage but not yet. She smiled warmly from her shadowy mask at Elsidy but inside, she thought out her escape options and readied herself to fight. She needed this girl whether they would let her have her or not.

When Felix heard the knock at the door she visibly perked up, moving to put the paper in her pocket. She hovered around the pizzas as Mr. Bruschev opened them and set out the paper towels. The young woman moved to yank off a paper towel, folding it in half so that most of the pizza grease wouldn't soak through. Then she quickly snatched up two for herself, stacking one on top of the other. She went to plop herself down on the couch, taking a bite out of both slices before looking to Anya; she looked so cute eating like that and it made Felix smile. Her gaze went to the undead dog. "Does your dog have to eat even though he's technically dead?" Felix asked Garret curiously before taking another bite.

"She'll be fine until we can get her to the hospital," said Brazen, standing up and taking notice for the first time of more than the speaker's voice. He frowned, looking Victoria up and down before glancing over at Matthias. He had missed, this time, the scratches but he did note that the woman was hiding her eyes and her hands. "Thanks for the offer though."

Elsidy stopped grimacing to express her pain. Her slight gasp of surprise blended in well with a groan as Victoria revealed her eyes. "Couldn't hurt if she took a look, could it?" murmured Elsidy in a gentle chime of a voice.

"What you need now are antiseptics, clean bandages, and maybe some Tylenol or something, so unless she can help with that," Brazen cast Victoria a look that wasn't supposed to be a glare, "I think we'd best just go get you somewhere that does." Elsidy cast Victoria a longing look.

Garret took a slice of Hawaiian pizza from one of the boxes, and once slice of pepperoni as well, which he tossed to Percy, who caught it mid-air. His eyes went to Felix as she asked him the question about his reanimated companion. He blinked twice before answering, "I mean, he doesn't have to, but I think he still gets hungry... Either way, he still kinda needs to eat, but don't ask how he digests the food, I'm still figuring that out." He simply shrugged at the last comment and went back to eating pizza, thinking about how long he's actually had Percy. To him, it seemed no longer than a few years, but now that he actually reflected on it, he realized how long it had really been. Percy nuzzled his hand, which Garret took as comforting, but was actually just Percy being a glutton and asking for more pizza.

Victoria opened her mouth to speak when Brazen interrupted her with his comment. She bit her lip to refrain from showing her frustration. He wasn't going to keep her from Victoria and she was going to make sure of it. "Listen, you're one of the most dangerous places in New York. You don't look like you belong here and these people are going to eat you alive for that, regardless of your scary weapons. I know a safe way to the hospital and a local pharmacy that could help the young lady."

She paused, trying to play on his rationality. "You won't last long enough out here without me. Plus, she might feel more comfortable with a woman's company. They may have to cut off her clothes for all you know." She turned her head away from Brazen and smiled reassuringly at Elsidy.

Matthias watched the whole exchange with frustration. He was honestly annoyed that Brazen was breaking the rules, even if it was to potentially crack down on a larger group of Immortals. It wasn't right to keep them alive. For all he knew, that girl could be trying to get on Brazen's good side and lure him into a false sense of security so he would let his guard down around her. And then she could pounce. Slaughter him, bring him back from death as a thrall to do as she pleased. He didn't like it.

But it didn't look like he had a say. Brazen was his superior, after all, and by the rule of the church Matthias was supposed to defer to his authority. Besides, now he had this other girl to deal with. Matthias groaned, then glanced down at the blood trail that Brazen had been examining. It was from the Shifter that had attacked him, he was sure. Which means it had run off...that way. The redhead turned without a word to the little trio beside him and started down the street in the direction of the trail.

Anya finished her pizza and put her napkin down. She could have eaten another one, but she knew that with the number of people in the house, there wouldn't be enough for her to have extra. She would be fine for the night, anyway. With a quiet yawn, she leaned against Felix, nuzzling against her shoulder in a manner that could almost have been feline. A content smile decorated her face as she mentally surveyed her family and their guest. Life was about to get exciting, she could tell, and she wanted to enjoy this one quiet moment.

But a vision ended that moment rather quickly. "Felix, he's coming. Don't hurt him." She sat up so that Felix could get off the couch, but said nothing more.

Brazen's eyes narrowed. Why was this woman so pushy? Did she...did she know? Of course, if she knew, she'd have to be one of them, in which case...if she was one of them, she must know who he was, and was trying to get Elsidy away from him! Of course. "I can handle myself," he said coldly, "we'll just make our way back to the car."

"Dad," Elsidy murmured in a breath, "Let's just go with her. It's not a big deal, and I am in a lot of pain." She was relieved to see the other hunter leave, having feared he would have killed her anyway. Brazen closed his eyes in a slow flinch at her addressing him, breathing in, before opening his eyes. "We'll be fine. I can take care of you," he said to her.

Felix pondered over what Garret said as she ate her pizza. It didn't take her long to finish and when she had she found Anya cuddling into her. Normally Felix wasn't the cuddly type, especially if other people were around. But with Anya she always seemed to make an exception. Her arm reached out to lazily drape around her blind friend as she leaned back into the couch. But Anya's words made her frown and Felix watched as she pulled away. Slowly she stood up, her muscles beginning to tense automatically. "Everybody just stay put." Her gaze looked at everyone in turn, settling on Garret last. "Especially you." She added. Then Felix was gone, slamming the front door behind her. Her boots thunked heavily against the ground as she went out onto the sidewalk, looking up and down the street. The way Felix held herself was straight and rigid as her green eyes scanned the area for any signs of danger.

He gave a small smile to see the two cuddling, joyed to see two people being able to freely show affection, even in poor times like this. Garret's eyebrow raised when Anya simply put it as "He's coming" but he didn't really question it. He had enough on his mind to worry about. He knew times were still to become worse for them. He looked down to Percy and gave him a slight rub on his head. Worse for all of them.

Being addressed directly didn't really phase Garret, really. He knew he looked like the more untrustworthy type. After Felix slammed the door shut, Garret's eyes looked over to Anya. "She really cares about you, huh?" Garret said.
