IC: Garret eyed the inside of the abandoned hotel the Shifter woman lived in. It wasn't that far off from his own home. Sure, it looked broken down, forgotten, and hopeless, but it still made to be the best it could. His eyes caught Victoria quickly hide the hunter's weapons as he walked in first, along with Percy right behind him. He heard the girl's voice behind him say something, and realized she was talking about Percy, "Huh? Oh, yeah, this rascal here is my companion, Percy. Had him for at least thirty six years now. He's practically immortal in the sense he doesn't really die of age." He said over his shoulder.

Garret kept his eyes on Brazen. He didn't quite trust him yet, considering he was still a hunter, a man sent to kill Garret's kind. But then again, why hasn't he sent his daughter away yet? He pondered the thought of what Brazen's plans might be. He trusted the Summoner girl a little more, however, she looked a bit more harmless that the tall, mostly gray-haired man standing beside her.

"Can I...does he like pets?" Elsidy asked softly, taking a hesitant step towards Percy, half extending a hand towards him. "I've never raised anything so big as him, just small songbirds or rodents. Always afraid I might be seen," she said with a small jerk of the head towards Brazen, and then in a much softer voice so as not to be heard by her father, "I suppose also he was...a little, or perhaps very, ashamed of me too. Perhaps he thought if I didn't it would be as if I wasn't..." She looked hurt for an instant before repeating, "Does he like pets?"

(I'm still hanging around but uh, I haven't heard from Junkie in ages. So I'm kinda stuck unless I take the liberty of sending Felix off without waiting for her to reply..if you guys need me to I can.)

(( Well my lovelies. We are at an impasse. It's been almost a month since anyone's posted. I'm sorry for my absence. I was hoping to wait and see if Junkie would return but perhaps I should've started thinking of a solution. We have a couple of options for this. We can A) Have a character usurp of Junkie's characters, B) Try to recruit more players, C) Move on without her characters for a little, or do whatever you guys think. If you've lost interest I completely understand. I would like for our little role play to continue but I do need your help))

(I haven't heard anything from her at all..I have no idea where she went. I could get a post up with Felix joining everyone at the warehouse if that would help. I would love to continue this rp! :D )

(Right-o, here's a Felix post to help things along.)

At one point Felix knew she had to go and investigate this Victoria further, and learn more about her own powers. However a part of her was concerned that it was a potential trap of some sort or was just overall too dangerous for her friend Anya and so she decided to try and go without her dear friend. She managed to convince Ivan to take over watching after the injured hunter for a while before slipping out of the Bruschev's house. No doubt Anya had seen it coming, but Felix still had to try.

With how navigationally-challenged the young woman was it took her quite some time to find the run-down building and once there she compared the address she had been given to where she currently was. It seemed to be the right place anyways. Felix was still covered in ash and dirt from the day before and her pant leg was ripped from her little run down through the old building, but she didn't really care. One of her hands reached up to scratch at her head before she pounded loudly on the door.

Garret rose an eyebrow at the summoner girl as she asked her question "Umm... I mean he doesn't not like pets." he said looking down at Percy, who in turn looked back up at him, "He doesn't really mind the crows and pigeons and stuff I raise to-" just then he was interrupted by the loud banging on the door. He looked at the others before slightly cracking open the door to peak outside and see Felix standing there. "You're a bit late." He commented nonchlantly. He wondered where her blind friend was, and how she would make it here if she's still back at the house.

Felix rolled her eyes a bit before moving to pushed the door open more so she could squeeze inside. "Yeah yeah, kinda had my hands full. Did I miss anything important?" The young woman took a moment to survey the room, her green eyes scanning over everyone and everything. There were a couple faces she didn't recognize; a young woman and an older man and her eyes lingered on them for a moment before flicking to Victoria. The look on her face was a combination of expectant and wary.

"Oh, I just meant..." Elsidy mumbled, blushing. She had meant, "will he let me pet him or will he bite?" but as Garret moved to answer the door, she fell silent instead, shifting closer to Brazen, whose fists and jaw were clenching and unclenching.

Victoria looked at Brazen with wary eyes. She could see him tense, his fists repeatedly clenching. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a fresh bottle of bourbon. She approached Brazen with the bottle and gave him a neutral look. "Relax. I will not turn your daughter against you. No child should ever have to go through that." She slipped the bottle into his hands and turned to the rest of the group. "Since it seems that every one who wanted to come has arrived, let me start our little lesson."

She took a deep breath. "Your powers are a result of a sacrifice made long ago. Our numbers were low after the first human onslaught. Our leader, our eldest, he sacrificed himself to our Gods to extend our race into human blood. You were all born to human families as far as I can see. Your differences in powers are due to our gods. There are 5 main gods of which we all derive: Lobus, Necros, Eirian, Magus, and Veris. Depending on which day you were born or which moon, you were imbued certain powers. It is the way it has always been."

"That is as much as I know regarding your origins and our origins as a whole. If you are confused or need to take it in, feel free to stop me. I do not mind answering any questions you may have." She looked concerned as her eyes scanned the room.

Brazen felt his hand close around the neck of the bottle, not sure he had really commanded it to do that. His eyes trailed down to his newest acquisition and he stared at it for a moment. Well...no need to throw the olive branch across the room, no matter how much he might like to. He'd need a drink to get through this. He might have preferred a glass, but he wasn't about to ask anything of Victoria.

Elsidy listened to Victoria with rapt attention, black eyes shinning with interest. This was finally it - the answers for which she'd been searching, the people who could tell her who she was, who were like her. She felt a bright smile break across her face. Was this the feeling of finally being home?

Next to her, Brazen choked on his swig of bourbon. His daughter was the product of a blood sacrifice to pagan deities!? Spluttering and coughing, spraying bourbon on the area just in front of him, his emotions surged within him. He should have just killed her. Maybe he could have gotten her purified, maybe he could have...this was all so wrong. Elsidy cast him a worried glance as he continued to cough.

After Garret closed the door to the room, he turned to the girl that had corrected what she meant. "Oh, uh, yeah. He doesn't mind being petted at all, actually. He's undead not fer...al..." He jokingly said but trailed of as he saw her father obviously being angry with her. He decided to keep quiet until Victoria was done talking.

At the mention of the man sacrificing himself to save their race, his eyebrows rose a bit. Sure, he wasn't all that religous, but he wasn't sure if that man was either a hero or mad. Brazen seemed to be taking it harder than he was though, Percy being spooked by the sudden outburst by the man.

Garret quickly made his way over to the man and put his hand on his shoulder, "Hey man are you alright? Do you need help or anything I mean," He cleared his throat, "Just because this might be a lot different than what those guys down in wherever your HQ is, doesn't mean it should cause you this much shock." He began patting the man on the back, trying to help with his sudden outburst of coughing. Garret had an asthmatic friend in school, and was reminded how to help with bad coughs like this. At least that's what he thought would help.

Victoria gave a sideways glance to Brazen before continuing. "When we came back to mingling with humans, it wasn't as harmonious as before. We couldn't show our distinguishing marks, we couldn't be ourselves. Someone tried: a Conjurer and good friend of mine. He went by the name of Jace at the time. A nice English name. He decided to try and heal those that people believed were incurable. He was the first to die. He was also the one to alert the Church to our existence. I believe they call him something along the lines of Daemon in the church."

She glanced at Brazen with worried eyes as he began to cough furiously. "Correct me if I'm wrong." She said in a low voice. "As far as tracking you all, they have a way. Agents are stationed everywhere. Hospitals, police stations, government offices. Your parents just trying to get your birth certificate put you in danger. Not that they knew." She gave a solemn smile. "Are there any questions so far?"

At first Victoria's words didn't fully register to Felix and she stood there staring as the information sank in. Gradually comprehension and doubt crossed her face and she shifted in place, reaching up to scratch the side of her head. Though her attention turned to Brazen when he spit perfectly good booze out all over the place. She scowled a bit before looking at Victoria again and held her hands up. "So wait a minute, you're saying these church guys who are hunting us down and trying to kill us, they're all over the place?" The young woman ran her fingers through her choppy hair in distress. "But I don't understand why they're hunting us. If we're supposedly created with the help of gods then why?" She looked confused and frustrated. "What did we ever do to them that was so bad?"

It took all of Brazen's willpower not to shove Garret away. He finished coughing and choked out a, "D-devils!" and then, "How did your heathen blood mingle with human? How- was it my wife?" These questions were directed at Victoria. He'd wanted answers himself this whole time, but now he wish he didn't know. "Was it some kind of curse?" His tone was rising. All of this was worse than he could have ever thought. "How did I sire a demon's spawn?" Was Elsidy even his?

As Brazen lost his cool and began shouting, Elsidy's eyes went wide as her eyebrows pinched up together and her mouth dropped slightly, lower lip quivering. "F-fater," she squeaked, "But - our gods don't have to clash with your-"

"You're no daughter of mine!" Brazen shouted. He'd hoped she could have been cleansed of whatever fluke it was that made her what she was. But no. Not a pagan sacrifice. A part of him ached as he shouted at Elsidy, as she drew back, the muscles in sharp relief on her neck as she stiffened as if he had struck her. Elsidy, who had never been anything but obedient - but no. She was a devil, they all were. As he shouted at Elsidy, he turned on his heel to leave.
