My first thought when looking at this topic for the first time was "well, I don't think dark bases get a whole lot of attention anyway, just look at how bases and are still literally the same for female bases despite all the reports..." I think the paler bases being more popular really does shift all the attention to them, which is... expected, but sad.
I'm very glad whenever feedback topics help staff identify issues, it's great to know the userbase can actively contribute! It really is, I don't think there's anyone among us who wouldn't happily try to help. As a user, I can also appreciate knowing where mistakes are; some in-depth explanation does give me more confidence in believing the issue has -truly- been found and will be paid attention to from now on. That part is also great.
The point is, I think the hole might be deeper than just an issue with multiply layers or saving settings... the questions going on in my mind after reading this followed the lines of:
"Why aren't there full sizes of all base colors? If there are, why aren't they visible and easily accessible to all staff members? Isn't there an organized resources database? I know there are standard color palettes for pets, wouldn't this be as important as that?"
"Why doesn't staff dispose of proper preview features upon uploading items? That's not the artists' fault, for sure; still, I'd think they'd have better previews than we do for custom wearables. Is that a problem of waiting on the programmers, or do these previews exist, but the artists aren't giving that second look at the art before clicking the button?"
"Why isn't there a review of uploaded items? I mean, I'm sure there IS someone approving the items/putting them on the database, but maybe it isn't always the same person, or maybe they have too many items to review, because things are clearly slipping by way too often... the responsability shouldn't be falling on the artist alone, when pieces are put out by Subeta as a team."
And then the answer to these questions always seems to be that staff has too many items, too many pets, too many maps/games, too many projects to work at once. It's nearly impossible for a staff artist to dedicate the same time to an item than a CW artist, that's for sure, but it has become upsetting to see how common it is for quality checks to fall on the cracks.
Taking from the discussion that's happening right now on 's feedback topic about the coding, if it really is a case of having too many projects, I wonder if it's any possible to cut down so things are more organized and all staffers are on the same page? :c
Whenever topics like these come out (to complain about whatever art), the overworked issue gets mentioned. I do believe it holds true for the artists, since pretty much everyone I know is still on Subeta because of the beautiful art. People buy from the CS because they need pretty wearables, pretty TC items. I just wonder if it's possible to organize things better, possibly cutting down some of the workload, and still keep Subeta's income/regular activity level?
At this point I'm already rambling, but the main point holds true: we're happy to help catch mistakes, but mistakes of this nature should have been caught way before the items' release :/ Next time, it might not be the multiply layer anymore, but it's likely to be something else, since there doesn't seem to be time left for more thorough reviews...
I agree, there are hardly any facial features I can wear with my HA :( And I have tried a lot!

I do agree with this, it is reallly hard to make a dark based HA. When I first started here on subeta I always had dark HAs, but that was and is soooo much harder to work with.
Yes I have a white HA aswell, but because of the reason I gave above this quote :( I would love to make dark HAs aswell...
