Chance does suck long term, but it will never suck as much as "pick and choose what you want before it retires and if you forgot something you are sol"
I don't THINK you two are the only one who understands the fact that when you are forced to potentially buy excess in order to obtain the desired results you're going to end up with more of the unwanted items being available for purchase through secondhand methods. This of course results in just plain availability later on, which is nice.
But I think it's just the fact that you guys are the only ones who see the solution to this problem to be to force users to buy more extra items to have them be available once they're retired. Honestly, what needs to be done now that we have less chance-related items is that we need to bring in rotating Cash Shop stock. Or basically just stop the whole retiring items within a couple months and then making users wait for Black Friday or for some random sale when the site needs some more money and decides to bring some older items back. There are a lot of potential routes that could be taken, but INITIALLY releasing items like this isn't a good strategy, imo.

Yes, it would be great if everything was easy to get and convenient.
Sadly, unless being convenient was double the price, I'm not interested.
Meaning, 250 per non-transformable. Same as a donation present. Meaning you can choose to get two things out of 80 and having to trade for what you want, or get one pick of what you want.
Thank you for reiterating my own post

Wait for the chorus of THIS IS SO EXPENSIVE WHY IS EVERYTHING HARD ON SUBETA.
The same chorus of people who sing when something is released in the BHH/forum shop/crystal shop/everywhere where it's not click-and-buy
Yeah, and then waiting and hoping it's hustled...
RIP
I think, overall, my biggest issue is that there's 80 for 125 a pop, randomly. If there was, say, 20-30 of them then I don't think it'd feel that imposing and more people would be apt to gamble a bit and in turn there'd be more in circulation. Then once some (75%) got deflated, they could retire those and bring in more. But looking at 80, geeze that's a lot, even more so if you only want a handful and I'm sure that once the hype dies down it'll be really hard to trade.
But I think a lot of my bitterness towards chance machines has come from that Arctic Chance Machine and the heavy weighing of the Shooting Star vs. basically everything else.
WELL I ACTUALLY HAVE ONE OF THESE SOMEWHERE. LET ME ACCOUNT CHECK
Searching for: Birds

I never really understood why I bought that tbh
YEAH I REMEMBER THINKING... I SHOULD GET ONE OF THOSE. Then I forgot, and then they were gone.
I could buy the Collection for 21m which isn't bad by today's csc prices, BUT I GUESS I DON'T HAVE TO NOW :I

Buutt ahh Idk. I feel like in a smaller number this would have been fine, or for a cheaper price? But probably mostly the smaller number, because then the cheapycheap ones could be removed/retired and fresh meat could be brought in and the hype would come back/the others would actually get bought etc.
I mean obviously they can/probably will do that in the future anyways-- but there being 80 + that is like hng. HOPEFULLY NEXT TIME THERE'S SOME THINGS THAT TEMPT ME MORE. Like Striped Hyenas, Genets, and 'Possums. And extinct things... like Tylacines and Unicorns Dodo birds!
I want birds, personally.
Tits and chickadees and vampire finches and mockingbirds and larks and cardinals and jays and magpie and pied crows and pied ravens and EVIL GEESE.
YES BIRDS TOO. CHICKADEES, RAVENS, MAGPIES (magpieesss), MOCKINGBIRDS, SWANS, PIGEONS, BLEEDING HEART DOVES, GRACKLES, YES.
Fish too. No one ever gives fish enough love Q___Q I'd shank someone for some cichlids, Pufferfishes, and Arowanas.
Subeta is for fun. Being constantly frustrated because things are impossible to get is not fun. Therefore: me complaining.
OMG I would LOVE an aquatic version of this chance machine. I want tropical fish, cuttlefish, squid, sea slugs, sea cucumbers, rays, sharks, shrimp, EVERYTHING.
More birds would be rad too though o3o
As long as you do not complain about Subeta being boring and having no challenge.
Also, as long as you let me mock you.
The more "boring" things tend to be to other people, the more fun I'm probably having, lmao. [looks at Skyrim, aka "Nordic flower-picking simulator"]
And yeah, go ahead. I'm just a complainer -- always have been, probably always will be -- and I'm okay with people ribbing me for it. It's not a particularly attractive quality of mine, lol.
I don't mind the price. 125 CSC is pretty standard for cash shop items; there are a few recolours here, but most have unique and detailed overlays.
I just don't see how the site can expect anyone to want to roll the dice with over 80 chances. I just find it a totally bizarre. Back when the site had random DPs, I used to try and open ~10 max to gamble for what I wanted. A few times I went over that - there were ~14 possibilities and opening that lucky DP had a realistic chance to give me what I wanted. If you're going for something specific here, you know you're wasting your time and cash and are forced to buy on shop search for sP. Seems to totally defeat the point of putting them in cash.
I absolutely adore most of the items from the new chance machine.... but yeah 125 CSC is really more than I'm happy to spend, considering that I'm almost guaranteed to get one of the items I really don't want from it!
I'm a bit confused why it isn't priced like the other chance machines, especially when there's so many different options from this one.... surely the range of items would make us want to have more chances to get what we want (as there's less probability of getting that one item), so the price could still be lower, while still generating funds for Subeta?
I agree with the previous suggestion - 75 CSC for a random item, or 150 CSC to pick one out would be a good compromise :)

I'm still on the boat of "125 CSC is way, way too much for one chance out of 80 items". It just doesn't feel worth it when I seriously doubt I'll end up getting what I want.
It pays for the servers, sure, but I've been one to not mind opening old collections or whatever out of interest to see what I'd get, but.. I'm just utterly uninterested in 75% of those 80 items. Way too many possibilities. I like the idea of 75 CSC for a random, or 150 CSC to pick one out. Then I could happily get the Bearded Vulture or one of the snakes or the goliath bird-eater without fearing I'd roll something undesirable. /shrug
I personal think that 125 CSC is way too much for for a chance machine, especially with a total of 80 random items you get.I just don't understand why they didn't put them in shop individually for a little more CSC as well.I would rather be able to pick and choose what I want and not take chances on an item that's least popular.Or have a hard time trading or selling for what I would prefer to have.
I also don't understand why they don't tack on high Sp choices on this and other chance machines as an alternative to spending CSC, so they can pull out more sp out of the system. This would be great if there was a choice to spend high Sp for at least once a day.Why can't this be done? I just hope they'll put these chance animals in the Cash Shop individually for the Black Friday sale.I would pay a little bit more CSC for them if given a chance.
Like a good neighbor, stay over there!

Seems im in the minority here, but i love that they are 125CSC and chance. If you wanted the option to pick, then 250CSC like a collection, would be too high in my opinion.
I used to love the trading aspect of monthly collections, id buy like 5 and then trade what i got for the things that i wanted if i didnt get them initially. Maybe people cant be bothered to trade and want the items they need handed straight to them with no challenge involved? I get that i guess, but its fun to try and trade for the items you need. Sure, theres 80 items in there, but that just means theres for variety out there when you try to trade for what you want.
Considering that donation presents, hair coupons and vanity sets are now all boring pick what you want, its nice and refreshing to see a chance machine :)
