Items are not weighted, I got two baby cheetahs in 15 attempts. Some items are however, much more popular.

I think when you do a chance pull (Spooky Chance Surprise), you'll see a red box around an item that is "rare" which to me means rare chance of getting this item.
I just checked out the animal one and everyone single one is rare, so you are right, some might be more popular than another.

Yeps, and staff confirmed it was not weighted.

Rare is calculated with odds of getting the item, and since the odds for everything is less than 2%, EVERYTHING IS RARE.

I agree with everything Reaper said. I would have happily given this chance machine several "spins" if it was 50csc or even 75csc. I just cannot bring myself to spend 125csc for each try when I have roughly half of the items wishlisted and of those, I only really, really, really want like 10 of these. I have shit luck when it comes to chance bags or these chance machines, so I am willing to drop the equivalent of $5 to try 10 spins and hope to get 1 of my wishlisted items out of it, but there is no way I am willing to spend $12.50 for the same (likely)outcome. Chance items have always sucked, have always generated complaints from the userbase and have always been unpopular...which is why I thought they were being moved away from. And yes, there are people who are willing to trade. That's great for people who want to mess with the whole prospect of trading. I would much prefer to buy what I want outright. The site gets my money, I get the exact item I wanted, everyone walks away happy from a simple and straightforward transaction. I would have been willing to buy the 10 that made me squee when I saw them for a higher price if I could do so directly from the cash shop (150csc-250csc range). But when they decided to throw it into a chance machine...they lost me and my csc for these. The art is beautiful! The wearable aspect of the items is awesome! The execution of how they will get onsite into circulation leaves a lot to be desired. Either a direct buy option or a lower per "spin" price would have made these sooooooooooooooooo much more appealing imo.

I realize my wording is confusing there - however if you noticed the other machines I pointed out, they have higher percent chances overall of getting something you want and they're still cheaper. The one most closely related to the Animal machine in terms of number of items possible is the GoFP (which, yes, has a lot more possible items than the animal one theoretically) - and it is 50 csc per spin BECAUSE it has so many options so the chance of getting something good/you want/rare/etc is lower.

So why make a machine with 4x the number of items as the Spooky machine (which is the next closest in price and items) and make it cost more?

Also - 80125 = 10k, not 12k, which is definitely cheaper than 80250 however I have yet to see a collection with 80 items. I also have yet to see a comparable item to these machine prizes in the CS for more than 100-150 for your choice of item. So the argument on how you're "saving" by spinning a machine that is random is pretty inaccurate.

Ugh, more chance machines. It seems like popular opinion is really not to have random chance items, or at least to have an option to just buy the items outright for the majority of users who don't like the chance aspect. I totally agree with this thought. I'd rather pay double the price to get an item I want rather than to waste CSC getting items I don't have any interest in at all (which outside of the GoFP and Lumi machines, I pretty much stay completely away from all of the other chance machines for that exact reason). In theory and based on some comments in this thread, it seems like enough people opt to not pay CSC to use the chance machine and instead buy second hand that Subeta could reap more profits by offering an option like this to entice those that don't like the chance aspect.

What I love about all of this is the reason given for vanity clothing being split is because people complained about it being chance. But hey now you can try to get a zoo 80 animals by chance with 125 csc a spin. Totally logical. ;)

Yes, it's called being broke. :P good luck to those that are trying

I feel similar about the price being a bit high seeing how many new animals there are. D: The chance part is okay, not my favorite but nothing that bothers me insanely. Most things can be traded or sold.

I just wish you'd actually get the squishy plushies. Don't get me wrong, the animals are stunning. I just like the squishy CI image more than the actual wearable. XD I wish we could have the plushie versions as wears too. c:

I wouldn't mind the price tag if it wasn't a chance machine and I wouldn't mind it being a chance machine if there were let's say 20 different items to get. However, 80 different items for 125csc in a Vending Machine is too much of a gamble for me and my hard-earned money.

omg same

I'd love if they were transformable from "realistic" to "squishy" or something -- the realistic art is gorgeous, but I literally squeed when I saw the icons. so cute

As long as they weren't plushie collection plushies, lmao.

In my opinion, I think for a one in... what is it... eighty shot of getting the item I want, the price is steep. I understand it's meant as an sP/CSC sink but this is a bit absurd.

I can only drop so much on Subeta before it becomes an issue, I'm not some skilled artist or writer that can pour literally thousands of CSC or dollars into this site nor will I ever until Subeta is drastically improved. I drop $15 and $20 here and there as I can and as I want to.

In short, I'll be buying the one out of all these that I want from a user shop and taking the chance of someone seriously overpricing it in sP if I must.

I'm just repeating myself and typing approximately the same thing I did on the News comment section: I would buy every single item I want from this selection IF ONLY I COULD. I won't be just giving away my money. If it were sP it wouldn't be a big deal but with RL money in question, I'm not taking the chance only to get all the items I don't want. Sorry, you lost a customer this time.

I actually don't mind the chance aspect so much (so there are more in usershops! ever since vanity lines became non-random, there are very few of the less popular pieces around after they retire.), but I do find the price quite steep. I don't think I'll be using the machine as is... do chance machines get discounted during sales? Maybe then.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that, except I pointed that out with donation presents.

Prior to 2009, you'll have a great quantity of retired donation presents. Really, really few of them have none in shops.

With 2010 and over, a good part of the items have none for sale or trade, because people originally only bought what they needed. So, years in the future, you're struggling to find what you want for sale.

Yes, right now, you don't like chance items, but I prefer this to having these items impossible to find in two years.

BLESS YOU NATASHA.

I don't mind the chance machine, but I do mind the price. If it was 50 CSC I would have bought a few for the fun of it. It's beyond my price range for this format.

THANKS :D

like, I understand how chance stuff bothers people short term, if you don't have a lot of CSC and can only try your luck once or twice, it's like, ugh why can't I just pick what I want?

But long term, things just disappear, which is exceptionally terrible if you're trying to collect things after the fact, both with proper collections and idk, wigs, blob kitties, gallery of purple stuff, whatever.

CSC aside, I'd actually like to see chance stuff based on SP. (sink! :D)

Meanwhile, I really don't see why these items couldn't at least be transformable where appropriate, tbh.

I'm gonna weigh in here too. I was in the the camp that was disappointed to see the price so high, but as evident by the daily support goal meter, there are still plenty of people willing to play the chance and pay the price for it. So even though the price is steep for the amount of items, at this point I really don't think lowering the price would be fair to the people who were willing pay it, unless they were somehow able to be reimbursed.

But, as some other people pointed out, the image for the chance machine has a lot more animals on it, which implies that there will be more to come and would honestly be kind of great; I'd love to get a whale lmao. But I think if the amount of animals is going to increase (or even just stay the same) it might be a good idea to rotate the stock, if that's possible.

For instance, for a week or two maybe only the first 20 on the list are attainable; the next two weeks are for the next 20, etc. The chance element is still there but at least it's not as big of a chance, and people would have a little more control. Tbh I'd probably enjoy paying for a couple spins if that were the case, but as of right now I'm just gonna look for the users who are selling.

My first impression was-- that's a lot for a gamble.

My current impression is-- that's a lot for such a large damn set.

125csc x 80 = a lot. The random factor makes it less appealing, but thankfully for the most part I've been able to trade something I didn't want for something I did want or at least something I like wouldn't mind owning. So, that's cool, but I dunno I'm not a big fan of chance because there's always stuff less appealing.

Longterm, chance sucks.. shortterm.. chance sucks, unless you're either lucky in the regard of getting that thing everyone else wants or lucky to trade what you got for what you want. I think this is one of those cases, like most chance stuff, when the "Hype" wears off the stuff will be hard to trade because everyone's moved onto the next big thing, and the cool animals everyone wants won't exist on the open market and the bugs will be 50k. Then in year or two people will be begging for the big cats to be Hustled... where as, if these were buy what you want like collections, in a year or two people will be begging for everything no one bought to be Hustled.

Either way, in a few years.. someone will have to be Hustled back in. It's the same way for the chance bags, and the old DPs/collection items. There's really no solid way to fix that unless it was like 75csc to gamble/150csc to just buy what you wanted.

However, I am glad nothing is weighted and that I'm currently able to trade for the things I want.

I actually really like that idea! I wonder if it would be possible to implement... Surely it must have been suggested before, but I can't recall any arguments pro/con. Hmm.
