Not normal at all, over in the net county they had tornado warnings. We dont have that in this region. We wont get snow until maybe December or January, but it never last long. But does get below freezing even here in Texas.
I never knew that... We in the past have had it go to -50's so i don't complain too hard.
Brr I would wrap in my heaviest blanket and never come out of it, until spring.
I stay home and hibernate too.I do have mukluks so my feet stay toasty..and heavy jackets and sweaters so i can still push some snow away.
Fortunately I just need a heavy jacket and some gloves, I probably should wear a hat, but I dont like them.
I got a heavy jacket and hat this year too.A store was going out of business here in town and i bought a lot of clothes.. LOL I had fun...shopping
- Thank you for the update on ! I'm with her in spirit!
Thank you so much for the updates. I sort of figured that if she could be there she would. If I could I would, too. As of right now, though, I'm just glad my one coworker transferred away because he would be testing the limits of my anger management in regards to this pipeline issue.
So today I've got a craft show and my medical conditions have decided to combine forces and make me feel absolutely miserable. I'm very, very glad that my mom's coming to help me set up and the people running it offer help unloading. Also crossing my fingers that my sister is feeling better today so she can come be my sales woman because being tired and in pain makes being smiley and chatty with people very difficult. I would much rather just tuck myself away in a corner and write all day but I'm committed to the show and I need the money so... It's going to be a long day.
Yes that is the story we are talking about.
You artsy people I was thinking we could have some kind of thing that says Lair Bears support the fight at Standing Rock and a lairbear with an Indian headdress on it so we can put it in our signatures?

Id try that, but I can't art digitally very well. But maybe someone else has by now?

I can't speak for Laurie's nation nor am I anything native, but I know if you were to copy someones' jish or take their eagle feathers among the Navajo, this would not be a nice thing to do. I would feel uncomfortable using a headdress as part of our solidarity symbol, as this probably has different meanings to each nation involved in this. Some of those meanings may be ones we cannot claim or should not claim and may not even be relevant to the issue at hand.
Since it's about water, why not use something watery, or since it's an environmental issue something green. IMO would be less likely to be misused or misconstrued and more likely to be seen as Allied to the no dapl cause.
: Hey Otter-boy! I see that you are participating in NaNoWriMo and that you have 11158 words already. Way to go, I am very impressed! Can you tell us what your story is about? Mine is about the small woodland creatures of Glen Meadow where I live and their struggles with civil war, unrest, love and humans. It's got passion, power, greed and fury. It's a cookbook.
Very insightful, and that should be considered very seriously.
Love the idea, True.
You are so right. We would not want to offend anyone!

Lucky you! I bet you got many bargains/deals.
Thank you. The show went very well and now I'm home trying to work out some of the tension knots in my back. That's about all I can do.
This is actually year 13 of NaNo for me! My story is sort of horror but not quite. It's about ghosts and monsters of the old Slavic world and the importance of accepting others' faiths and beliefs rather than forcing yours upon them.
: That sounds very fascinating and I would love to explore those kinds of stories. I'm always very interested in other cultures and histories and have incorporated aspects of that into my stories. This is my ninth year. My stories are children's literature -> young adult and so there's not so much monsters and ghosts, but there are some very scary characters, like the main villain, Azimodious the Wolverine who wages a civil war against the Woodland Council and use a certain (ahem...ahem) little pure-white weasel-girl of as the focus of the conflict. He's really really bad. The little pure-white weasel-girl is anonymously cute...we don't know anybody like that here.
