hun I am so with you We raised our son to be respectful and appropraite in public and home also. We also raised our Godchild and here sis the same way. I dont understand why parents act afraid of their kids and let them get by with so many bad things these days. Its not right!! I feel they are doing their kids an injustice not raising them right these days. I remember when my twin nieces who we also helped raise acted up in a store when they were maybe 5 or 6 and I got onto them right then and told them they were gonna get a whipping when we got to the car. So thats exactly what I did and some one was watchin and my Mother who raised us right told me you should not do that now days people will report you and you will go to jail. I told her then I will go to jail I am whipping appropraitely and will not let them get by with this because afaid someone will think it is wrong. I never beat a kid ever thats wrong. You spank them right and tell them why they got spanked and our son and the kids we helped raise always respected and loved us because we taught them right. So I understand hun

Hello Bears. Long time no see..

RL has been hectic lately with lots of changes and developments at home and at work. I'm hoping that I'm now able to carve out a little time for Subeta and the Lair every now and then though.

So, what big developments have I missed? Just seen the news post about Omen Islands. Very exciting!

Congrats on all those achievements!! LOL My sons didnt want to go back to the car, they knew the deal. None of them can tolerate bad behaving kids and they are out of college now. Although, once i was driving and told my 2 younger ones (elementary age at the time) to behave. They were wrestling in the back seat, although limited with seat belts on. I told them I would stop and let them have a taste of the ruler I had in the car. Both chose not to believe me, because i was driving on the freeway. They even said, "oh Mom you wont stop on the freeway." Without a word I signaled, pulled over, and put emergency signal on. They each got a whack with the ruler, I didnt say anything I had warned them. I turned around and kept driving. Not a peep came from the back seat the rest the way home. After that, I just had to verbally remind them of what I would do. If they didnt behave. Today, they laugh about it!

My nephew actually called, his Mom once and thanked her for spanking him as a kid.

If he had, it would be the last thing he ever did and he knows it. My Sons dont hit women, let me hear about it. My older son just stood there and took the slap on the shoulder with his hands to his sides. He knew he had messed up majorly and I wont tolerate bad behavior, no matter how old they are.

Kids just dont think we would do what we said but you are like me and my hubby when we say something we mean it and thats the way it is. If kids were raised to believe their parents would correct them and then carry it thru kids would be a little different but they dont believe parents now days cause most is just yelling and no correcting. Now there are still som eparents who do raise their kids like we did and those kids are the lucky ones

I used to make my sons do sentences, I got tired of talking and punishing. They hated it, and I figured two birds one stone. Learn to behave and improve their handwriting. Old School!!! My youngest started in first grade, only 2-3 words with 2-4 letters done 50 times. If they did it quietly I would deduct sentences for good behavior, and opposite if they caused issues over it. LOL
