Haha, I guess so xD Oh, I'm ok with that. But I don't think it would have been much of a hassle either way ;) I've lived with one of the zombie strains - heartburn, not very well liked by most people I'd say - for well over three years, so I guess my eyes did get used to... some of these things, at least!

Well, we still don't know exactly where these viruses came from, how exactly they mutate to brand new forms every year or how did they begin infecting humans -- it's something we hope to get clarified in the near future D: After the first few people started showing symptoms of any strain, it became easily spread through biting, scratching and well, any sort of physical contact/attack involving blood. For a while, every year the strains morphed into 3-5 brand new viruses, all progressing through stages and covering the subjects' entire bodies until they were fully decayed. Although we do celebrate "Survival" every year on the first epidemic anniversary, the infected citizens never died; they were just alienated from society. It's hard to know what came earlier, the Unliving attacks that spread the diseases further, or people's fear and distrust for these ugly, deformed "zombies". :x

A famous doctor, Louis L'Amour, would try and come up with brand new cures every year! He might have done something right along the way, for the last few viruses we have seen were much weaker, did not cover the entire body and went away on their own. Surprisingly enough, even for long-term zombies like me, who never took Louis' cure, the strain symptoms seem to flick back and forth, so whenever I'm outside the Underground I'm the same human I used to be before the epidemic xD (Pst, this mask is just an accessory! :P) I wonder if Louis' potions did have a relevant impact on these newly discovered strains behaviors, or if we just somehow developed antibodies to fight the rotting cells. Or, you know, maybe a mix of both. It would sure be an interesting subject to research! c:

Still, as interesting as it would be, I bet exchanging fancy gifts with friends would be more fun than picking on rotting bodies XD
