Thanks for the help and info. Checked all that stuff out, still totally not what I'm looking for. It's like, the most obscure doll apparently. My mom thinks she had like a gingham dress- her hair was straight and white (my mom thinks sorta silvery white) and she just came with like, a bunch of clothes. Like I said, a lot- maybe up to 20, but I can't say for certain. She was in a carrying case, plastic, see through, and had just a bunch of clothes, no pets. I have no idea if she was one of many different kinds (tho I'd imagine so), if she was an exclusive doll to a certain department store, if she was made somewhere other than the US, or like an 'intro' doll or some sort of advertisement. I'm thinking she got lost when we moved and that's why she just disappeared... I just feel so sad I never even got to play with her, I don't even remember playing with her, only seeing her, opening her up and seeing what she was all about and then nothing. Seems like I'll never find her again. Le-sigh.

I have a few childhood items like that. I know I had them and then they were gone. Glad I got to hold on to a few (including a stuffed dog I got when I was about 2 years old). It is the last thing I always pack and it goes into a bag with important papers (birthcertificate, diplomas, etc). At least you remember having her and your mom is able to verify that she did exist and not some cool thing you created in your mind.
lol, yeah, exactly. The only sad part is neither one of us can remember her name or where she came from. It's kinda driving us both batty. But even with all the lists you can find in places like Wiki, it's still not complete I've found... there are other dolls I've been able to randomly google that weren't on the lists. xD; So it's possibly she was just an obscurely named doll and I can't remember it... humph! But yes, glad I'm not just imagining it. lol.

I'm thinking it's somewhere when I was around 9 or 10, so it would've been 1988-89. I would say maybe even 1990. There's a possibility it could be 87 too... so I guess I'd range those 4 years.
Sadly, no. those aren't it either. I wish I had a better idea of what it was. When I see the Rose Petal Place dolls, it kinda makes me think that it looked like those dolls... but the head was a bit bigger I think. Just so confusing that it can't be located... I just don't understand it.

Nope, not a Ginny. It wasn't so 'baby' faced. Plus, I think that doll is too large for what I'm thinking. It wasn't a large doll, plastic I'm sure and fairly simple in design. Not Maxie either. She didn't resemble a Barbie- like wasn't a Barbie knockoff.
Some of the lists I've seen don't include all dolls out there, cuz I've come across other dolls through other sites that weren't listed on that wiki page or 'toys of the 80's' lists. So... it's still really weird! Trying to not let it bug me. xD;; But... I probably won't ever be happy until I figure out what the heck it was.

Ahh man I hate stuff like this lol. Bugs me to no end. I spent years trying to figure out what this one particular computer game was that I had played as a kid (after hours one night of scouring old internet forums I finally found it). I hope one day you can find whatever doll it was.

I thought maybe, but I've looked at them and none of them came in any sort of kit- like where they were part of a carrying case with clothes.... I looked at the manufacturer too and it didn't appear they made any other similar dolls to it either. So... I have no idea.
Could it be the Kid Kore dolls? I couldn't find a set exactly like you mentioned but they are small and some of the sets I did find come in a clear plastic carrying case. This is an ebay result I found for one still in case.

could it be a Herself The Elf doll,or a Wee Wild Things doll? Herself The Elf came out around the same time Rose Petal Place dolls did.Then there are the Kidgett dolls that are listed also on Ghost Of Doll.If you click on fashion under Kidgetts,does this look like the doll you were trying to find?

Was it maybe a She-Ra doll? I collected the whole set of those. Had the big pink castle at one time too. Or what about a cupcake doll? I'm not sure the exact name of those, but I remember I had one that came with different skirts...the bottom folded up into a cupcake thing and then it had a hat that tied on that looked like frosting. Or maybe it was a Cherry Merry Muffin doll...they had cupcakes that smelled like chocolate, mmmmm. Could have been a Dolly Pops I suppose, but I think the clothes they came with were plastic. OOH, was it a Moon Dreamers doll? I remember I had one of those that had metallic blue/purple clothes that I loved.
Ugh, okay, I'm going to stop now. I'm getting sucked back into the 80s through Google images, lol. Let me know if you figure out what it was!!
No, wasn't a she-ra doll. I never actually had her, was never into her. I liked Jem tho. My parents got me one of those dolls, it was a larger one, I think it was a 14" one.. but man was it fugly. lol! Never thought of later doing a repaint... don't think I have it any more tho or I would totally do that now. lol! I saw those cupcake dolls. I think they were just called Cupcake doll... or something like that. I also looked at Cherry Merry Muffin- and she's so cute, but not it either. I don't think she ever came in a case with a bunch of clothes, considering her thing was baking. lol. The Moon Dreamers also made me think it could be, but I didn't see any sorta 'kits' as it were where one came in a case with a bunch of clothes. I don't think that applies to that doll either. It's so strange. I'm trying to even picture what she looked like, and honestly, all I remember was that she was a 'white' doll (caucasian) with white hair. She sat on the left side of a rectangular felxible carrying case and on the other side there were a bunch of clothes, but not really 'neatly' put in or packaged flat, just sorta piled in there. It wasn't something anyone put together for me like with existing doll clothes- cuz I don't think I really had much Barbie stuff at that time. I've looked at mini-Barbies and that wasn't it either. All mini dolls are just totally wrong. The closest concept was this like, Korean Barbie knockoff that comes in a box with like, 6 or 7 dresses- but that doll was too big and it just, wasn't that type of doll.
sigh I just don't know. I've googled everything I can think of... and even 'lists' don't show anything. I'm just at a loss. Wonder if there's like a toy expert I can talk to... or some old dude that remembers all toys made ever. Where's Santa when you need him? lol.
Maybe you could try this on Ebay like I did recently.You could try to type like vintage dolls 1980's and if you don't find anything just leave as vintage dolls, and add or remove certain keywords.It might help.That's what I had to do to find these vintage pvc bunnies that I had many years ago in the early 80's,and now regret getting rid of them in my teens.
For some reason its listed under vintage Easter instead of vintage bunny toys.It can be time consuming but its worth it.You might try posting in Ghost Of The Doll forums to see if anyone can help.They don't list every doll or toy on that site.Good luck finding the doll.
