No, it's very useful. I'm on tumblr a lot and even then, I didn't know about this new forum interface. I really like what we have right now for the forums homepage. :/

[Quote=metroid] Jfc that's nice and all, but how about fixing everything that's glitched or broken at the moment? Ping history; Ice King RE (can we please have a day of Ice King to make up for the broken RE?); wishlists; amount of people we can ping...these are way more important than drawing up a new forum re-design. Considering the site is basically in shambles for me (can't access spoilera, Autopricer won't load, all navigation tabs are broken) all I cN say is

Offtopic again, but looking through this thread it seems we'll be able to opt out of the new forums interface. (I know the thread is on the first page of this same area, but just in case anyone else didn't notice it and also wants more information!)
The point still stands that it was an important change and there was no information available beforehand, so people got annoyed and confused.
See, I understand the reasoning "Well we need data" about it - but surely if you go "We're going to change the forums tomorrow" its not going to stop the data. In fact it might give you a better idea because some people will just go "Nope!" and not log on that day.
Anyway, communication has been much better as of late. Its not great, its barely even good at times. But by subeta standards, it has improved.

Just wanted to say that I've only been here since June, but even I've noticed that communication HAS improved. Plus I heard about some things that happened recently before I joined which make the current state of Subeta seem even better. I too like the siteupdate group because I'm nosy :3 I also would love a beta test forum... and notification on site about changes. I have a Tumblr but no interest in following Subeta there. So yeah, a lot of good changes have come about just since I joined, even though some things still need work.
I do wonder about staff communication on the forums... it seems rather random in who gets a reply from staff and who doesn't. I think someone has replied to me directly once out of the times I've pinged staff, whereas others tend to get multiple replies on the same thread. Maybe it depends on if the staff member knows you or not? Keith's comment about not replying to problem users on the threads made me feel like one of said problem users, so no more staff pings for me :(
Oh, but tickets have worked great for me! I always get a response quickly... like usually within 15 minutes. And the staff there have all been very nice and helpful.
[edit] Edited for typo. You'd think as an English teacher, I'd be better about proofreading posts -X-;
