Just tested out the newly statted featherweight axe, it's definitely speed based, 30 wind atk, 10 wind block and no heal for my no speed pet.

- is that the one from the tornado guy? I should go beat him and test it out with my high speed pet. She has a bunch of EXP to use too, I should boost her speed again!

yep that's the one. riptide tested it out with the highest speeded pet and it seems to do the same as any ~2.5k+ speeded pet though.

- So it's just speed based then, not like the harpoon? Oh well, it would still be fun to try it out. I should really get on beating Flamagia and Tortyrant

Based on the results I'm seeing, I think the axe goes something like:

2500+ speed for 34-39 wind, 7 physical blocks 50 wind 5% heal

1500+ speed for 31-34 wind, 5 physical blocks 40 wind 4% heal

And anything under 1500 is 30 wind blocks 30 wind no heal

"PetNameHere's speed was boosted by 25!" each turn

Gust of Weightlessness (Curse) 8 wind

Low chance of curse based on my testing. Not sure the range it lasts. Looks about 2-3 turns.

Not too happy with the possible hiatus of the Gelly War. It's an event for battlers, with nothing but battling. I'm not sure how that's supposedly too stale an event, when you have battlers looking forward to it every year. =/ If it ain't broke, don't fix it(especially when it's the only way to get a couple of desirable weapons)!

I will have to say, though, that I'm looking forward to trying out the new challengers in BQs today. ^^

When I tried again the curse lasted about 3 turns for me.

Is Cursed Effigy a normal BQ opponent, even if you haven't unlocked him as a challenger and it's not Fireside?

Yes. CE is a regular BQ opponent. :)

About those low tier weapons… I have some stashed away as well. The highest demand for them comes during plot battles. If you want to rid yourself of them sooner, you might try starting a thread in this forum or maybe scouting the welcome forum. Good luck! :)

Man, Cursed Effigy is rough. Any tips for beating him? I've beaten plenty of opponents with higher HP than him, but he just crushes me each time :(

Yeah, I've been getting 2-3 turns for the curse. Have you gotten 4 turns, though?

You can't heal in a battle against CE, so don't bother bringing healers. Just try to do as much damage as you can, as fast as you can. That goes for scrolls too. Drop your healer scroll and bring in some bombs.

Someone else will have to tell you which icons to block and avoid using, cause I never pay enough attention to take note of what he blocks/deals.

- Thanks for letting me know about the healing against CE. I thought I had read that you could heal against him. That helps me a ton as I can swap out a bunch of things.

- I believe the icons that are not blocked by effigy's scroll are water, fire, and light. Try to hit with those/use those dark potions for extra damage. My favourite scrolls against CE are Perilous Whirlpool scrolls.

@ Riptide I think when I first got it I miscounted. I forgot that when the curse icon shows it doesn't take effect until /next/ turn. So 3 turns seems to be the average. [edit] You Won! WHEW... When you can't blast one of his wands or mighty flex those battles drag out and become a real pain. Thankfully PoBow's curse activated more often than I expected (and I was thankful)
