8 years ago today, I created Elfric, a little Kumos whom I coloured Dark Matter immediately after. He didn't have much of a character, but I trained him as often as I remembered.

I don't know why, but I think I always knew Elfric would be my main battle pet. He's the only one I've kept from the original bunch of pets I created in my first year. I could never justify abandoning him.

Summer of 2012 introduced tiers, and I discovered Elfric was a Tier 4, thanks to all that previous training I had been doing simply for fun. Just like Joey thought his Rattata was in the top 10% of all Rattatas, I thought T4 was something to be proud of. Til I realized he had a long ways to go to reach T12, and eventually the 22k cap. xD

It was then I decided to join the ranks of the battle community.

It's been three years since making that decision. Y'all have been a great influence, a fabulous inspiration, and the most encouraging and loving bunch of people I've ever met. I finally found where I truly belong on Subeta.

Elfric, now a Glacier Kumos, would have probably remained a T4 if I had not gotten invested into battling. And at times, T12 seemed like an impossible goal to achieve.

...until now.
