How goes the job hunt?

Very early then. Though they don't seem to do as well when they get a losing start :P

I got a very, very tentative offer from a big phone company over a week ago, which would have been a pretty big bump up for me. But I haven't heard back, yet, so hope is waning. I'm not really applying to anything at the moment. I was waiting on that one offer. I'll probably resume looking this week or next.

Wait.. you got an offer, but now they haven't responded back? I'm confused.

Work is work. I'm trying not to get too bothered by it or too caught up in it.. I'm still planning on leaving in the spring when the mat leave is over.

It was a headhunter. They get to propose 3 different candidates. They make an offer on behalf of the company. The company then chooses the one they like best, for the price. So I'm assuming my offer wasn't chosen.

You're planning on leaving? Are you looking to line something up, or just seeing what happens?

I'm just gunna see what happens. I'm going to see what they offer me when the mat leave is up and if I don't like it then I'll start job hunting at that point. I check out the postings a few times a week just for curiousity sake to see what's going on.. and places I like and can unsolicitedly send a resume when I'm hunting xP

Haha I've actually thought about trying a yoga class at some point. I took a dance aerobics class in college and I really liked it. And my body could definitely use the stress relief xD I've yet to get any of the new subq, either. I'm too scared to see what it's going for on shop search.

Oh my, that's so adorable. You guys are going to look wonderful! Did you come up with it all on your own? Josh and I want to dress up, but we still don't know what we want to be yet, or where we would even go for Halloween. Plus we don't want to spend a lot on it.

Hahaha I feel you on the parental hoarding. My mother has a bad habit of buying things when they're on sale, even if she has no use for it at all. And we live in a pretty tiny apartment, so it adds up quickly. As for my job, chdvbfhfuegvgrd!!! haha today was awful. I'm glad I'm off tomorrow. It's my birthday and I don't want to spend it there. Even if I have a dr appointment first thing in the morning. At least I'll be getting the results from my bloodwork back :)

aaa thank you so much, Dot! art school is very fun, but also a ton of hard work. it's like any other challenging undergrad program in terms of rigorousness and workload, except most classes are studio classes. I like it a lot!

what sort of stuff do you do as a Communications major? :O do radio/news/advertising fall into that category? I imagine it's a pretty broad field.

on the chronic illness: ehh, I don't think, at this point, that weather affects me too much? it's mostly random, and I have my good weeks and bad weeks, hahaha

Sounds like a plan :) The spring is quite a ways off so it might be a touch early to start planning an exit now. How long have you been working there in total? It seems like you've been there about as long as I've been at my current job (a little over 3 years for me) And I'm starting to get restless knowing there is nowhere for me to move up or likely get much of a raise.

(Also YAY the Jays won! My meeting when over long, so I didn't catch any of it, but I'll take a win.)

Hehe, I channel my inner-lifetime movie occasionally. I'm a huge proponent of choosing a career you enjoy though. And not being afraid to change it if you're not happy.

My mom's family is big, but my Dad's side is very small. It's only his sister & her husband. They have no kids and both my my grandparents are now passed. So I know both sides of the coin.

I only complain to you guys. I'll leave real complaining to the professionals, purely because I can't be bothered to find the board and they said they're still working on lots of things.

AHHH thank you guys so so much for the birthday wishes and pretties! I've been having a pretty hard time lately and having you guys here to talk to has been a great go-to help for me. And I really appreciate it. You guys are great. :') I had my dr appointment this morning and they prescribed me a low starting prescription of Zoloft, which is a depression medication. I'm a little afraid to take it, but I think it's time to try. So once again, thank you guys for being here. :)

Haha I completely understand; I don't really like black and orange together. I don't like orange much at all unless it's fall time. But I have so many spooky items for HAs, I think I'm set for the month...or year xD

Besides my dr appointment this morning, I had planned a lunch with my dad and Josh. We just got back and it was nice. Josh got me a stress relief adult coloring book, my dad got me an amazon gift card, and my mom got me super soft jammies. As for the rest of the day, I plan to relax :)

Antidepressants will probably help you to get through this hard period, and hopefully you can slowly wind down on them when things get more settled.

That's EXACTLY how I feel about my job. It's a good job, and I'm lucky to have it, when so many people aren't working... but it's a starter job. It's not somewhere you stay.
