Hey guys! As you probably know I'm in my final year of Uni so I'm not really here for very often. I'm trying to make an effort for masquerade though, lots of those wearables will stack up nicely on my hunt to 15k wearables!

How is everyone? I'm on/off for a lot of the day and all of masquerade to dance and such, I need about 3000 tokens to get all of the 2012 stuff that's retiring! I probably won't make it because there's a lot of the 2016 stuff I want in my wardrobe now haha

Management is idiots. We're SO overstaffed at the front desk right now that everyone's shifts are getting cut left right and center. This week I'm supposed to have worked 27 hours by the end of today and I'll have worked only 18. We had an esthetician quit so they've been having me cover some clients which is fine.. but they're scheduling me to do services that I've never been trained on before and then cramming training in like same day. Tonight I have to do an indian head massage and I got one the other day and mildly saw how one is done last night.. like.. come on. Client experience is compromised when that happens and it's MY reputation on the line.

Oh wow that's awful! Especially because things like that cost a lot of money and you can't give the best experience possible for them. I'd defo look around and try and find somewhere a bit better haha

There are some good browser extensions for Chrome, and that's pretty much it.. so I just used that web based one C: The only thing is you have to check every once and a while 'cause the link will expire.

Yeah it's pretty brutal. The thing is, though, that I've only been here a month.. so I can't really look for anything else yet cause it looks so bad on my part to a new potential employer. What's to say I'll join their team and not leave after a month again, you know?

Yeah I think they expire every half an hour or so? But it's great to just leave it to run haha. Chrome doesn't actually open on my laptop for whatever reason? I downloaded it and it opened and closed again straight away, but safari is easy to use as I can fick between tabs really easy which is great for quests haha.

Very true, but could you possibly blag it to a potential employee by saying you were more on the desk and wanted to actually be more hands on or something? I have to start looking for jobs for once I finish Uni and I'm not excited to start that haha

I could, I'm sure.. but I'm going to stick it out a little while. They're pretty cool about time off and in the winter I'm going to be curling competitively again, which is weekends away so that's a definite perk for me. I'll give it another month to sort itself out and we'll see what happens.

I guess once you're trained on most treatments they could start using you more and eventually have you training other people, which would look great on your CV haha

OMG YES. Do that. Unfortunately for me a lot of my decision making has to include the fact that I have rent to pay. Otherwise, at this point I would have probably already quit xP But it pays more than my lost job.. so even though I'm getting less hours my pay is very similar for the time being. Live at home and SAVE!

That's the plan. I've been geting some training this week.. and I'm happy to take clients. I actually make more money by doing it cause I get tips on top of my hourly wage.. And this spa has a GREAT reputation in town, so it will look good on my CV for sure when I go to go somewhere else.

Very true! It tends to be the bigger names that treat their employees pretty badly though. Over the summer I worked at a branded restuarant waitressing and we were doing 12 hour shifts with a half an hour break. We'd be closing up at like 12am and the tube wouldn't be running anymore so I'd have to get an hour and a half bus back, and then sometimes start again at 7am. It was insane and I couldn't do it haha, we get a student loan in the UK though, so I don't need a job to get through uni granted I budget well haha

BRUTAL. I have that tonight. I work til about 8:30 - takes me an hour to get home, and then I have to be back there for 8:30 tomorrow morning. So I'm home for all of like 10 hours xP

I had a loan in uni too xD Felt so good to pay it off finally!

I feel like I'll never fully pay mine off haha, speaking of loans I get my last loan payment ever in April. It makes me so sad :(
