I joined Team Dolly because I thought that the participation prize would be both a food and wearable (and I guessed right) so I knew I'd want two copies. I liked knowing what the participation prize was ahead of time.
I think that the staff did the best that they could by going with the snowballs divided by team members scoring system. Of course I hate being on the team with so many layabouts but that's just the way it goes. Those users are on my team, whether I would have picked them or not. I don't see any reason to exclude them from the final scoring. That's like excluding them from the event: "Sorry, you didn't participate enough. We're going to kick you off the team and exclude you from this Subeta event." That just seems wrong to me.
At this point I'm just throwing as many snowballs as I can. What I really want is the top 10% achievement. That's the only thing I can't get ever again. I want the winter-themed wearable, but I'm sure I'll be able to buy it from another user at some point even if it's expensive. The achievement for being in the top 10% can't be gained later and I am SO thankful that there isn't an achievement for being on the winning team. That would irk me. Because we have so little control over our team and whether or not we win.
BLAMES THE VICTIM XD

Hi guys - the side conversations are fun, but this is a board for feedback on the participation prizes for the event. If you want to talk more generally about the event or joke around, please take your conversation to sMail, comments, or the correct forum.
Thanks!
I think simply because of what the userbase is, there were going to be more people joining Dolly's team no matter what the item is.
Rough-looking boy vs. kawaii girl.
She would have had more supporters anyway, because of who the majority of the userbase is and what they like, I think.
I think the necklace is super ugly so I am excited that it's a food... ha. I thought I was doing good by throwing 500 snowballs... then I saw that some of you threw more than 14,000?
I'm just hoping I read the rules right and that all participants get a trophy. That's all I care about.

Yes, everyone who participated will get a trophy. :)
The original announcement for the snowball fight said there would be prizes for top scorers.
Oh I know that! I mean item prizes. As in, staff could've been surprised by the amount of snowballs thrown in the end and decided to add some last-minute prizes to make up for people's efforts. Would be a sweet idea, but would feel a little awkward for everyone else who doesn't get it and didn't know it was going to happen :x That, and I'm paranoid, haha.
But you're right, since they said there will be an achievement and title, I think that's all there should be c: Supposing everything goes as announced (namely without brand new collectible items), I think it'll be fine. ^^
Now that I think of it, this is really a lot like BotB. People who worked like crazy for their team are going to be less rewarded than freeloaders on the opposite team; now I see many Dollies quitting because there's no chance of winning and there's no reward based on personal effort.
I'm all for clarity when things start, but I'm afraid the concept of "team effort" hasn't been working so well on its own. Idk about changing the rules of the game in the middle of it, but I'd like to see some tiered rewards next time at least :/ It's an entirely different issue than the one presented in the OP (different uses for prizes) though.
