ummm, I'm sorry for being one who kept crashing the tree page two years in a row. XD

I'm not that impressed with the trees anymore and I don't think this year I'll decorate one. I'm tired of the lagging and freezing after like two ornaments. Though I'm happy to see a limit. This way if I do decorate I'm not going for three years in a row of crashing the page.

I actually LIKE the new limit. The decrease in lag is noticeable!

I'd say it was disappointing, but as it it is, I'm quite comfortably within the limit on my tree. I might feel it later once I've amassed more ornaments, but it still a damn sight better than endless lag preventing me from decorating it at all.

I do miss seeing them on HAs, though. Edit: Oh, they're not lost forever! I look forward to their return.

Can we beg to get an option TO NOT get them? Like disable them? Or if users with a background could get it behind the tree itself? y/n?

Like many others, (and much like !) I don't like the new limits and I'm sad I can't do much with my tree, not everything above 25 = clutter and not all "clutter" means "ugly" either.

admittedly, my tree was just plain silly and not as pretty, but I still liked it XD

But of course I understand it's a wider issue and I've been caught by the horrible lag and crashes last year, too. The trees are hardly ever 100% fun to customize because the process isn't smooth, so maybe this can be worked on as the limit gets (hopefully) moved up later.

...I was going to say that I hoped the forum code for the trees would take long to implement but I kind of promised myself I wouldn't complain about trees this year because of the wardrobe skins change XD ahaha

First off that has to be one of my most favorite trees ever! It's awesome.

And, I just second everything Blanche said. The limit, while I understand and am happy now that it's being worked on so maybe it can increase sometime soon, takes away from my enjoyment of figuring out what I will decorate this year. My tree from last year had far more than 25 ornaments but I think it was pretty and not cluttered even others would think it cluttered.

Clutter and busy can still be pretty if done thoughtfully. :) And really, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

However, if it just causes massive TREE lag and a clusterfucked tree would prevent people from being able to leave me anything then bring back the lag :'D

Your tree looks just fine to me! The ornaments are well organized and actually look very harmonious together :3 Considering HAs can take up to ~144 items, I'm hoping the trees can eventually be upped to 100 (or even 150?) but maybe that will be too much for staff to push this year :c I wish...

I do feel like 25 is a little too small of a limit. I feel like my tree is pretty simplistic yet it uses 22 decorations.

I really like the tree feature, but I'm actually quite pleased that they're no longer displayed on the forums.

Uhhh I'd really like the limit to be raised again! I found it fun last year finding ways to decorate my tree in a CLAMP art themed way. With 25 ornaments you can't decorate a tree at all....unless you want it looking naked/like shit. Plus why are the trees causing lag....aren't they just saved as an image once saved? If not, why aren't they...it'd save a LOT of room, and if not that, then why not remove them from the forums? I personally hate them in the forums, I find them ugly, and annoying when using a bg so I've had coding added so I can't personally see them.

Would it be possible to at least raise it to 100 items?

And yet plenty of people seem to be doing fine. Pretty cold to say all their trees look like shit because you are getting to decorate the way you want to.

I like 's idea :) I'd love an option to disable them on the forums. You guys are releasing all these gorgeous BGs for us to buy; but I feel like I can't use them throughout the month of December because the trees look AWFUL behind BGs.

Mhm. I threw mine there merely to help illustrate my argument that it's going to be much tougher to decorate a tree following any special "theme", as even drawing a silly face might be out of question with the new limit.

Another side argument not directly related to the issue is whether "clutter" looks bad or "naked" looks bad, either situation can look nice but I think most people would rather have a little more room to work with.

I still agree that 25 is a lot more workable than 10, though.

If trees are causing lag site-wide because they're loading like HAs (each ornament at a time, for everyone, whenever we access any forum page), then I'm afraid I'd rather get a plain link to them, like "Put a gift under (username)'s tree!" under HAs (could be followed by a bigger present icon under the HA, too)* or something like that.
