This is awesome and I can't believe that this is approved for CWs as well! I will admit to be a tad sad about all the old backgrounds with cutouts - I would love for some of those to be full fledged backgrounds. Regardless, this is an awesome change and better (much) late than never for sure.

Sorry, but no. This would require a lot of extra work for us, and we would essentially have to charge you in order to do this. So for now, no.

Yeah I figured as much. But are we allowed to say, submit recolours of existing backgrounds and not have the cutoff in the recolour version?

I already announced you don't need them for BGs? Just a few posts above this one. But yes, you'll still need to conform other items to go properly around the HA
[edit] If you want to submit a version of an already-accepted BG without the HA cutout as a new recolor, that's fine, but it won't replace the old one (repinging)
I meant BG items XP Sorry, shoulda specified lol! So if it's a BG item, are cutouts still needed? Or is it fine the way it is? Like if the item is drectly behind the HA and not curling around it in any way
I don't understand what you mean. What differs a "BG item" from a "BG"?
I think she means like something slotted in the background spot, that is not a full blown out bit of scenery. Like fate's summoning cloth or something.

Nothing needs the HA cut out now, regardless of what it is.
Addendum however, that if you DO want to continue removing the HA, you can - some people like to use them to create certain looks, and we're not goin to punish you guys if you do decide to cut it out! It's your choice :)

Partial BG items - companions, partial BGs, trees, any item that would fit the "BG" category but doesn't take the full BG area up.

Would examples like these also be exempt from the HA cutouts moving forward? Because the way they are right now makes it difficult to have them used in an HA-less HA.
More simply, what would still need an HA cutout apart from actual clothing and accessories? Because from what I'm understanding, although I could be wrong, anything that used to need an HA cutout doesn't need one anymore if the artist or commissioner chooses not to?
