I guess it worked :) At least there are two users in the channel with known names xD
(oops, me and my long replies)
Some people can understand Spanish to a certain degree (especially "Chavacano" speakers, I think that word meant something like "poor taste" in actual Spanish, though.) :D
Farmaceutica (pharmaceutics) and farmacologia (pharmacology) are subjects for us! It's so strange, because the university I'm in was around when we were colonised by Spaniards. The faculty is referred to as "Faculdad de Farmacia", and the program has the same name. "Farmacia" also means a drug store, but the person is called "farmaciotico" in the license certificates.
Maybe they made it match "quimico" (which we spell as "kimiko"... looks very Japanese that way!)
I thought bionic engineering and biotechnology were the same, omg! q__q All of the specialisations sound very cool, though! :D Congratulations on getting through some of the tougher parts of the program, too. I think the most complicated math we have are logarithm computations for drug dosing, but all the calculus I learned in high school was USELESS.
I'm surprised I picked up English, too! The usual word order here is verb - subject - object, so English felt so strange at first. We also have no separate pronouns for different genders, so I used to mix he and she... xD
Chabacano? Omg, that's a fruit to me, what a funny name for a language! Althought wikipedia does say it means something vulgar. I had no idea.... Guess there's more languages out there in the world than I thought there would be!
So I am kind of guessing we all catched the words from a common source and we used it as we found it more convenient, that'd explain why the words are the same but the meanings are slightly different. You know, Farmacia might actually exist here because all what you just mentioned about the subjects made a lot of sense I am probably wrong on that one. Farmaciotico sounds like a psycho farmacia guy! How fun! On this one I am 100% sure, for the person it's a farmacéutico.
Quimico, that makes me remember!!! In the bachelor school here it's very common that they offer you to get your certificate for "TÉCNICO COMO LABORATORISTA CLÃNICO" which is kind of similar to farmacia. It means "Technician as clinical laboratorist", something like that. QuÃmico, quimico... oh, there's a career called "QuÃmico farmacobiólogo" (Chemical farmaco). Everything's so weird to my head now!!
Logarithm computations? Oh, I know that one! Useful but very troublesome for derivatives and integrals, ew! hahaha Calculos kind of helps but not that much indeed.
In spanish is all subject verb object! So I guess that's why it was easier for me..... And in spanish we do not only have like she and he but also the objects are he or she, the chair is feminine for us and the bookshelf is masculine.... it's not like in english where all the objects are just an it!

Taking the words from a common time period may be possible. I think most people didn't get the opportunity to actually learn proper Spanish, so a lot of things we took are butchered! We also have some words I thought was Spanish but turns out not to be... like "palenque" (which we use as "market" here,) but some people use "mercado" instead.
For the Chavacano language speakers, it's said that the Spanish parts of the creole language seem to be medieval Spanish that sounds weird to speakers of modern Spanish. xD And yeah! I misspelled the Spanish version of the pharmacist title -- it is farmacéutico (That's no longer the spelling used in the modern spelling, though.) xD
I think we have an equivalent of that certificate here, but it's not under the same/similar name! "Quimico farmacobiologio" is probably what we call "biochemistry" here. Sorry for the weirdness, too!
I may have forgotten all my calculus now, except for very basic things.
Ohgoshthat is why I struggled with French, and why my friend trying to teach me told me to learn Spanish first. We have very few feminine/masculine words, so finding out which word should be "male or female" is confusing for me unless I memorise the vocabulary. I just wing it and see things ending with "o" as masculine, and "a" as feminine.
I am not sure I've tried it before. In the pictures looks like a peach, but I've heard it so it's probably around waiting for me to buy it and try it 8)
Mercado is a market for us but we use palenque too. Actually the Palenque Ruins are around 3-4 hours away from my state of origin. here, it's a beautiful place and there's a lot lot lot more ruins around the one in the picture. That one's very interesting because there's some kind of toilet in a place, and it's epic! And there's a fightint arena and inscriptions and draws and here in Mexico you can travel and get inside of it all the way :D
No, biochemistry is different for us! BioquÃmico, it exists!
There's even a career called "Industrial Engineering in Chemical" and another one called "Industrial Chemical Engineering", they are different, I just can't remmeer why. ("IngenierÃa Industrial en QuÃmica" and "IngenierÃa QuÃmica Industrial" are the names in spanish).
The 'o' and the 'a' are very helpful actually! There's some exceptions, for example, water is "el agua" (masculine) because if you said "la agua", there's a conflict with two followed 'a'. And there's also some that don't end up with neither as "el mueble" (the furniture and that it is masculine). I am very glad to have spanish as my native because it has a lot of stuff that most languages don't use so I just taken them away from me when learning something new. But not german, german's a bitch haha

When I learned of the Palenque Ruins in world history classes, I said, "look, they named ruins after our word for market!" I then learned that the word really came from Mexico, not us! That picture looks beautiful, though. If I get to visit South America in my lifetime, I won't leave without seeing that place. * O *
I'm supposing the correct term for what we call "biochemistry" would be bioquimico, then -- though the specific one here has a lot of pharmacy-related courses too, so I'm not sure! We have industrial chemical engineering, but not the other one. I can't tell the difference. Q_Q I applied for Industrial Chemical Engineering in another uni, but I liked pharmacy a bit more, so I gave up my slot for it. xD
Thank you for pointing out some of those exceptions! I thought water was a feminine word. As for furniture, we somehow bastardised it to "mueblo"!
My grandmother would have taught me how to speak Spanish (she has strong ancestry, I forgot if she was 1/2 or 1/4,) but she developed Alzheimer's disease when I was young. She always thought I was my father's mistress! (Oh, that's another, "querida" here is not a good term because people always thinks it's someone in an illicit affair. x_x)
EDIT: Another ticket :o

Hello :)
What's the name of the dress/bottom under everything you have on? It's pretty
You're not alone in not back reading, I haven't really either. So much chatting D;
Good morning everyone else, or good evening!

Hey guys! I am here for talking. c:
I lost the last post you pinged me to and was searching frantically through pages and pages of posts but finally remembered about recent posts. /feels like an idiot
Hmm. I'll try to pop into one or the other irc every now and again. c:
Ooh, my computer would throw a fit at me if I never turned it off. If I hibernate it too many times in one day it does anyway. I guess that's partly because it's a laptop though. pats fondly I tend to shut it down once daily.
Eee I just made 15m selling mage amulets. :D I feel better now. Still need more for all that CSC though... prices more boosters and does all the quests T12 is so far off... and when I get there they'll change the cap. Eurgh.
Umm, yes. My thumb is permanently damaged and getting slowly worse, and my left middle finger has started acting up too. :'( I'm scared. Everything else is good though... how are you doing? :s
Oh, I see. Here it's done by government agencies to prevent massive bushfires getting out of control in the summer. Still sad.
Also halp I lost the link to the offsite forums /again/. D: I will remember to bookmark it when I next get it, promise!
I'm using a laptop too, and I admit not turning it off might not be too prudent. It serves as my makeshift server too, but if I can somehow manage to get my old laptop work, I'll keep that one on and shut down this one regularly. I make sure to keep it turned off for a long time when I do, though. :D
Congratulations! I've considered selling some of my mage amulets off, but I don't have that many yet. Ah well, I'll do it anyway. I'd have more if I did quests regularly the past month, but it's only recently that I've had the time to sit down and actually do 10 of most of the quests! At least I have slightly more than my intended buffer sP amount now, so I can relax some.
Noo! Let's hope none of your other fingers go wonky... :( My mother told me that I "fell sitting" when I was out with her this morning, but I don't even remember that happening?! We did finally find the medication I needed for my kind of anaemia -- we were beginning to think we'd need it shipped from the US.
Ack, I did see in the news quite a few times that the wildfires there can get CRAZY! The off-site forums are here!
Hi everyone! I lost the link to the other conversation, when we talk about our achievements and goals. Can you link me that please? _

I don't feel pressured - just eager (perhaps overeager?) to get to know people better. I went to a friend's birthday party the other day and had fun, but even though I recognised most people by at least sight I couldn't bring myself to go up to them. D: I like the internet for that.
Oh, I see. Good luck with your old laptop!
Thanks! I like mage amulets because they tend to stay stable at around 500k and to sell quite quickly, as well as be easy to get. c: I pay up to about 50k per quest for Quentin just for them. I've mostly been remembering to do my quests daily, but I've been leaving the battle quests hanging. Poor Feltish must feel abandoned! :o
I do hope not. I guess I could live without those two... I'd just rather not. XD Oh, that doesn't sound good at all. D: I'm glad you got access to your medication though. It may not be a cure but it's always good to have. C: Hope it helps!
Yay, thank you! bookmarks
Thanks to everyone who has been doing things for the cult! I'm just reporting that I'm not quite online yet but I'm rested up and trying to convince my boyfriend to make me a cup of coffee. Once he leaves I'll be on and ready to do some work!
I there's anything you want immediate answers to send me a message. If not, I'll talk to everyone in an hour or two!
No worries, thanks for checking! c:
Whoops I've disappeared for a day and it looks like I've missed everything xD Afternoon, all.
