I'm trying to think what I'm gonna carve for my pumpkin, too.. i doubt I'll come close to winning but at least I'll get the participation prize(s)

in RL, nope we don't celebrate halloween over here.... which is why I'm thinking entering the carving contest is a mistake...

1. I hate knives
2. I've never carved a pumpkin before
3. I wouldn't know what to do with the pumpkin after that XD

We don't celebrate Halloween in Estonia and I've never carved a pumpkin but in the news post it said that it was ok to carve a foam pumpkin so perhaps I'll find one (but probably not).

that would be my choice as well, seems cheaper and cleaner too but... where do they sell those here XD

Random post. Heard something in my yard and looked out expecting to see a raccoon washing it's lunch in my pond and instead was greeted by this I call it Booger 'cause it drags the neighbors trash into my yard and poops in my driveway.

I need to find a place that sells fake pumpkins over here, hopefully a white and a traditional orange one so I can use both in the design, I just like white!

the best faux pumpkins for carving are the Funkins. You can buy them at craft stores or on-line here

Hey everyone! I'm glad this chat was made. It's nice to see you all outside of an event because we're all plugging away for things then. :)

1-2) There are pumpkin carving tools/kits that you may find helpful. I'd just read reviews first. 3) They look nice in the front with a candle in them at night. You can use the "guts" as compost and/or roast the seeds in the oven with salt. Pumpkin pie seems like an obvious choice but I think canned pumpkin works a lot better, so I'd try other pumpkin recipes if you like the taste and like to cook. People even make dog treats with pumpkin.

All in all, a foam pumpkin definitely seems like the way to go for you. :)

There are a ton of oak trees around the house so there are always squirrels going after the acorns. They always make a mess trying to eat away at the little pumpkins and gourds we decorate the front steps with!
