Well, I don't know that it wouldn't work on brown! I think it could. Like a nice fade underneath with blue. I'm too chicken to ever dye mine. But I think it can look so nice. :)

What kind of snakes do you have ? LOL It was my first time seeing a rattler without a plexiglass cage between us fortunately they were in a very chill mood

That is so not helping my discomfort with snakes, Sis? A buddy of mine had a boa constrictor and made the mistake of not washing his hands after handling mice...his snake bit him in the webbing between his fingers. Ouch.

Your brother can be a pain in the butt sometimes

I was being sarcastic. 's babies are super cute and honestly my dog has done worse to me than the little nibble her snakes did to her. Hermes once was playing with me and almost scratched my eyeball. I moved at the last minute and ended up with a gash on my temple. That really hurt :/ to tell you more I had a worse bruise from the can of paint than Katherine had from her snake. Not all snakes are bad and your friend should know to wash his hands all the time. That was instinct for the snake a huge oversight for your friend.

Corn snakes :D A bite from these guys definitely isn't as scary as a bite from a boa. I hope your friend is ok!

Improper handling during feeding is how I ended up getting bit too. I've kept snakes for six years without so much of a strike and got careless. Snake or not, getting bit is always a possibility when you own a pet, though!

Wow, what does improper handling look like? Did the bite hurt?

It's harder to handle corn snakes improperly than you'd think! XD In my case I'd just thawed out a mouse and was holding it (using tongs!) and the snake at the same time. She got so excited when she smelled /saw food that she just chomped down on the closest thing she could find, which was my wrist. I've thought about doing the same thing when tempted with a hot pizza.

It didn't hurt much! It kind of felt like when you pinch yourself with a clothespin.

, It was certainly on Tom not to have washed his hands after handling the mouse, for Ambercrombie it was a natural reaction to smelling prey and unfortunately he ended up giving the snake up for adoption, twas a pretty gnarley looking bite

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I bite for much less than pizza!

That is the problem. When you adopt a pet you also adopt their instincts and accept their way of life. The snake knew this >.> your friend should have known too! lol

Absolutely! I'm always careful to wash my hands after handling the mice (because yuck, germs) but that doesn't do much to dampen the smell of a mouse in the room. This mouse came from a fresh package, so I think the smell was a little stronger than it usually is, as well.

It's too bad that your friend had to give up his snake! Was it because of the bite, or some other reason? I know a few people who've had to give up their pets because they moved into a state that restricts ownership.

ahahah, I'll remember that for the future.

Growing up, we didn't have snakes. Mr. Joy wishes very much that I was afraid of them so I would remember to be careful where I walk. I'm trying!

My twin..I could not have said it better myself. Tom was idk, I'm inclined to say it was a silly oversight on his part but you know how human nature is, Luff, you know you did something stupid but you defend your actions anyway. His take was that regardless of what his hands smelled like, he should have recognized him

TBH I think getting bit was the turning point for their relationship, even though it was easily avoidable and no one to my knowledge made an issue of the fact, but at least he put him up for adoption rather than having the snake destroyed. In a way Tom wasn't the most mature 22 year old, would feed Ambercrombie in front of people he knew were squeamish

LOL I would be very surprised if they did have snakes in AK, but definitely agree with Mr Joy on that one, childhood exposure to poisonous snakes teaches caution or overcaution lol

Tom would be faaar from the first 20 year old dude who bit off more than he could chew in regard to owning a big constictor ^_^ Craigslist is littered with ads for Boas owned by the Toms of the world. I place partial blame on whoever gave / sold the snake to him in the first place :/ . I can't imagine selling a boa constrictor to anyone without giving them the full score.

I agree with you in that it's far from perfect, but I'm glad that he was at least mature enough to realize that he was too scared of the critter to care for it properly and handed it off to someone who could (instead of just setting it free or killing it O: )

Thank you! :D

That's a neat idea for the contest! You're right though, it does sound pretty ambitious. XD

I wandered all over the whole patch to pick these out, i do think they're pretty unique. I can't just pick the first one i see no matter what...it doesn't feel right unless i've explored the entire field lol. That's cool that you have snakes! I used to have pet snakes because i was staying in this house where they were always getting in and i'd find them in the kitchen all the time. Since they were insisting on living in the house, i set up a nice habitat and put some of them in there. It was a better place for them to be than under the sink or around the stove where i might step on them. :o

That's always my problem too, i can't seem to get it even. I don't know anything about styling and i don't really care about doing anything fancy, i just want it short and even, but i can't even manage that on my own. And i never can figure out what's going on in the back lol.

I do cook but only because i have to eat, lol. I'm not super into cooking so while that's probably a great analogy, it would actually work better in reverse for me. Perhaps if i thought of cooking as an art (which i know it totally can be) i would enjoy it more. But i really only think of it as a chore. Anyway, i'm still considering doing a Squibly, i think it would be super cute and it's specifically Subeta-themed as opposed to the octopus they already have so i think that justifies using an idea similar to something already on site. As for being checked out before adopting, in my experience, the process is pretty rigorous if you're going through an actual shelter. I had to fill out a big questionnaire about my home, family and lifestyle and be interviewed to adopt a dog from the shelter and they sometimes do home visits too (and to be honest it was a big PITA, although it is a good thing they check people out, but i hope the extent to which they go doesn't hinder adoptions more than it helps).
