I was named after my great grandmother. My son's first name is my husbands name, but he goes by his middle name which is a family name, Logan. My daughter's first and middle name were names we just picked because they were nice, Chloe Faelinn :)

Im named for my great grandmother, apparently she was much feared as she was thought to be a witch and the family were all scared of her. I dont remember her but apparently she hated babies but came to see me on the day I was born and she just turned up out of the blue no one had actually told her I had been born she just knew somehow !!!

She apparently really liked me (dont know why ) and Im told I look very like her, though she died when I was 4 and I dont remember her.

I got my name from the song Maria in the West Side Story.

I was named after my aunt, Eleanor. I hated the name for YEARS. Some of the hate was because I couldn't stand my aunt, lol. I've grown into it, but I still go by my nickname, Ellie. :)

I WISH my parents had found someone with a dignified name and named me after her, but no!! They named me Wendy Lynn, ugh!!!

I knew that I could NOT grow old with a child's name so I legally changed it to Gwendelynn when I was almost 35, and that was over 20 yrs ago. I am still called Wendy by ppl who knew me before, but I moved 2000 miles away a yr after I changed it, so I've been firmly Gwendelynn for a long time.

I didn't name myself AFTER anyone. I simply looked in baby books for yrs and discovered that one of the many names that Wendy is derived from is Gwendolyn. I made up my own spelling. I didn't anticipate that I would have to ALWAYS tell ppl that my name is NOT Gwen, I hate that one, so if ppl forget I give them the whole story about having changed it, and that I already HAVE a nickname but ppl who didn't know me before I changed it are not ALLOWED (yes I am bossy) to call me Wendy. It just sounds wrong!! :)

Technically. My mother wanted to name me Hanie or Heidi, and my dad wanted to name my Violet. When the doctor asked for my name, they basically panicked and went with Andrea after Andrew from the bible.

My middle name is Ami-Lee after my Korean and American grandmothers' middle names.

I've been heavily considering changing my name to Violet because I've been really attached to the name since my parents told me.
