I don't agree at all that these articles make the pets seem "dumbed down". This is just general information on each species and doesn't say much about your particular pet other than what is is at its very basic level.

It's like reading an article about the basics of human beings. That would probably make us seem dumbed down too lmao. It's up to us to define our own unique pets via their pet pages, if we so choose.

edit: Can I raise my hand for a "History" / "Past Events" / something like that section?

Yay!! I also say a history(past event) section would be awesome....perhaps link to the event books (http://subeta.net/event_omen.php) and news articles :)

I actually like the exclamation marks -- it makes the entries more friendly. At least it does to me. And I don't mind commas, but commas are my favourite thing ever.

I think these entries are a really great start to a feature users have been hoping for!

I don't really see why some people are so disappointed in the pets being written more like animals, tbh. They're not talking specifically about YOUR pets, just the species. Subeta has magic and advanced technology that makes sentient beings, it's not unreasonable to think that the species as a whole as it roams Subeta is more like Earth animals, but once you adopt them you as their owner (or friend, etc etc) could cast a spell on them that makes them your peer or family.

To me the entries seem like they'd be good building blocks for people, that they can either utilize or toss aside for their own purposes.

OMG I was just thinking this exact same thing! Not as much about the magic but... it's kind of like someone else was saying, that the Subetapedia has basic info on the species itself. Our individual pets (and their character traits) could have very reasonably developed due to the specific circumstances of their lives, and because of things you have done with them after you adopted them. It's kind of like the nature vs. nurture idea... each pet naturally has certain traits, but they develop special personalities over their lifetimes. I think it's kind of more special that way, because I like to think that my pets are super awesome because they're mine, like I helped them reach their potential.

I mean Subeta is sort of a land of make-believe, after all. Especially when it comes to our pets :*

The whole idea of these is NOT to change your own personal canons though! I keep stressing that everywhere! You guys have your own ideas about our pets for so long, and that's absolutely fine. Shoot,I have things in MY head that differ from what we decided on would be 'official'! You guys can do whatever you'd like with pets your way :D some people will want to do stories based on the 'official' stuff, and that's fine, but i know a lot of you have your own ideas - embrace them! I sure do!

Also the doll version of the Tigreans are much smaller than what's depicted in their article :(

I don't think the sizes for the new wearables are meant to be exactly spot on for size comparasions. I don't even know if you could make a wearable Lain tiny enough to fit the actual size, it would lose so much detail! These are just realistic dolls, some more so than others. Heck some have little plushie strings sticking off them.

I understand that the dolls aren't meant to be to scale. I just think that the lain is too small in the Subetapedia diagram. I thought the size was off before the dolls were released, but the doll is a good example of what I think it "should" be. (Even though there's not really a right or wrong here.)

If the sizes are meant to be close to pets' real-life counterparts, I'm afraid to see what the bumbus and illumis will look like. They'll be practically microscopic.

Question:

How will anthro NPCs fit into Subeta lore? Please be something like: Magic gem that cursed some pets to be super sentient and humanoid. :D

- Considering magic exists in the world of Subeta, it probably will be something like that, or some sort of experiment gone wrong (or right?).

I do think though that if these dolls are going to be touted as dolls and not to scale, perhaps consider renaming them to remove the "Lifelike" to save yourselves a lot of grief, , , especially in light of the scale in the Subetapedia articles now. Really, just "Carnival" or "Ruffie Raffle" would be an okay prefix.

YEah, I found that out via SD/Tumblr after I posted and felt a little silly... That said, if you are the one writing, than perhaps another member of staff with a lot of writing experience should be reviewing and editing your work to ensure errors are caught, because, as you said, after writing a lot, it all kind of blurs together

I really hope we see more articles added soon. (Like one about Morostide, before that starts, haha)

I like that this is getting worked on, I just hope it doesn't get forgotten/left behind when the novelty wears off. Like I feel the subetapedia did last time :(

Also, yeah, too many inappropriate exclamation points. Maybe just delete them? I usually use them toomuch and have to go back into email, essays, writings, etc and change them out.
