Hey, what's up, I'd love to join. I've been an on-and-off Neopets player since 2002... mostly off, but I recently regained access to my main account there after being offline for several months and it'd be nice to have people to chat with c:

- anyone getting this when they visit the crypts? (I've finished the scavenger hunt and decided to punish myself by visiting them.)

It must have been a glitch, because it let me punish myself as per usual when I tried the link again. LOL

So what does Alegarten entail? I hear it's starting today. This will be my first.

I somehow totally missed Keel Hauliday. What was that about? Did I miss anything good? I did the scavenger hunt but didn't realize it was related to anything.

~ Keel Hauliday is when you can buy things from the Pirate Ship Freyalise for 2 weeks, as well as battle her crew. It is really hard to catch a restock and I managed to grab 3 things in two weeks. I was SUPER frustrated. Alegarten is similar to Oktoberfest. The Subetapedia has a good article on both that goes into more detail.

Thanks! I'm not much of a battler and I can't be on the computer enough to catch random restocks so I guess I didn't miss much!

They mentioned in the news that Carl was dropping special items? Anyone get anything interesting?

Do we do anything for Alegarten? Or is it less of a participation type of event.

I received a couple of the sharks, plushies and clothing from the Freyalise that I couldn't catch on the restocks.

Alegarten is a little different each year. There was a design your own beer contest last month leading up to Alegarten and there is always the opportunity to grab some Alegarten items (clothing, plushies, food, and stickers)once they are put back into the shops to restock.

Keel Hauliday & Alegarten are more "minor" holidays around Subeta. Moroside at the end of October usually has more going on.

I gave up on restocking anything from the Freyalise the first or second day. I got some stuff from Carl but nothing I actually wanted... which, luckily for me, wasn't that pressing. I just wanted the sharks for my minion gallery. I think I got one shark from vending, otherwise, nothing.

Alegarten is kinda boring imo unless you have pets you're trying to get to gourmet or you need German or alcohol-based things for their TCs (or your own collections), or you like dressing like a German LOL. It can get pretty expensive but at least Gunter's shop is always stocked, the items just rotate depending on the time of day (drinks at a certain time, clothes at a certain time, food at a certain time). This time of year is REALLY busy, we have Morostide and then Fireside and then Luminaire, so you'll have lots of fun things to do coming up really soon!

- I got quite a few things from Carl and a few more from vending at Ocean's Depths. I think Maleria gave me something as a quest reward, too. I never restocked one damned thing, though. I hate keelhauliday.

Alegarten is just an excuse to buy Octoberfest crap. Kind of a placeholder til Morostide.

I'm having a disproportionate amount of fun with Alegarten XD I wonder if my avatar would be compatible with an Oktoberfest costume.

I can't wait for Morostide to begin. I've never participated in one before but I'm all about all things Halloween-esque. waits not-so-patiently
