I know, I was just thinking about the Master/Doctor as "canon" thing. Hahaha.
Mischievous Diadem available in my CW shop!
No, I get what you mean. I'm just a sucker for characters like that, lol.
Scream of the Shalka is a webisode that was made when the show was still off the air, so it's "non-canon" because it features an alternate Ninth Doctor.
And yeah, I can see how people don't like Six, but I find him quite fun. "Mark of the Rani" is one of my favourites.
Oh my god, I love Curse of Fatal Death so much. "Say hello to The Sofa Of Reasonable Comfort."
OhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHH I WATCHED THAT -facepalms-
Maybe I was thinking of something else... a Fourth Doctor- oh, Shada. I guess I mixed them up.
man I have not seen nearly enough classic Who

Forget the Master/Mistress theory.
Missy is the one behind Clara phoning the Doctor and meeting him, and the one behind the ad. So she seems to be somewhat manipulative, although for a good cause it seems. Both those things have helped them... But perhaps she's just keeping them alive for the right moment. Anyways, onto my theory. Missy says, "I like his accent. I think I might keep it." I? Did she maybe have some control over his regeneration? Did SHE give him that face, to lead him back to Pompeii? The Doctor thought it was his subconscious trying to tell him something, but maybe it's her. She can't be the Master, can she? But why does she have this much power over the Doctor?
I just realized that "Deep Breath" was the name of the episode. At first I thought the title of this topic referred to deep breathing as you waited with anticipation for the premier.
Don't mind me, my brain is on holiday right now!

That's very true. I'm interested to see where they end up going with their behaviors/relationship.
ah, thanks for the ping!
...and overall I did like the episode, and of what I saw of Capaldi...he surprised me by how quickly I liked him. Actually looking forward to the next episode, and also looking forward to how there going to develop Clara, and even Capaldi as the Doctor...
crossing my fingers for a good season
"When the words weigh heavy on the heart. I am lost and led only by the stars"
Personally, I'm very excited for a grumpy old scot being the doctor (with a dash of sass). I haven't been this excited in Doctor Who in quite a while. The last season of Matt Smith was just ... not the quality I've come to love and expect from DW. There were a few good episodes here and there, but overall it was missing something for me.
Did any of you watch the AfterWho thing BBCAmerica did? Chris Hardwick, Wil Weaton, and others came up with some great theories about who Missy could be. :)
I was too tired to watch AfterWho, but I liked the Preshow. He skipped the fifth and sixth Doctors in his quick recap of each of them, but I thought he was funny.
I watched AfterWho and found their theories interesting. I thought Missy was the TARDIS and she was trying to keep Clara and the Doctor together since she was so un-accepting of him after his regeneration. The TARDIS knows everything, including the fact that the Doctor calls her the Impossible Girl.

So I finally watched it. I was watching it on tardisblue.net last night and the site crashed. Thankfully my sister recorded it on the DVR so I watched it after baking my subeta cake today.
I really liked it. I was kind of dreading Capaldi but I actually really liked him. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. And I loved the trio of Jenny, Strax, and Vastra. I laughed so hard when Strax hit Clara in the face with the newspaper LOL. And again when he fell from the ceiling. And Jenny is a total badass.
And if anyone is interested, I have a Doctor Who ping group. Let me know if you're interested in joining
Let's be real guys, to make the best episode (or season really) ever of Doctor Who, we should have the 12th doctor traveling with Strax, Jenny, and Vastra as the companions. So much sass, violence, and intel going on.
You should look up the special though, . They had some interesting things they pointed out. I liked when they counted back to all the references throughtout the episode to previous doctors/episodes.
I agree with your theory, it's one I haven't seen before and much more plausible than it being Clara or River. I have watched a Classic Who episode with a friend, it was hard to get in to. Though it was black and white, and I have a thing about black and white haha. I will eventually watch them though, I need to. People say I need to start with the Fourth doctor.
I will try to get them to you today! Wasn't on yesterday I was in the middle of writing a huge paper for class.
Aww I love those three! They really need their own show. Strax is hilarious, "We melt him with acid!" Clara: That last part? Strax: We don't melt him with acid!
hahaha
I would give it some time. I don't think Missy is connected with Clara at all, she's sinister and Clara isn't.
Also my favorite quote was from the restaurant when 12 plucked a strand of Clara's hair and she goes OW
Doctor: It was out of place, I'm sure you'd want it killed
This quote killed me lmao
Watch City of Death, The Caves of Androzani, and The Curse of Fenric. Those three are incredible.
that quote was funny XDD
I don't know, she does have a different air to her but come on, how many bitter older women started out that way? most were pretty amazing when they were younger.
that's my theory anyway.
fingers crossed that they pick it up with the writing though, that episode was not their best =/
Really? You didn't like the writing? I loved the episode, I thought it was the best one in years. What didn't you like about the writing?
I loved the season premiere. I thought it was interesting how the two of them interacted throughout the episode after regeneration. I also kinda loved how sad and dark the episode was. It made me cry and made me laugh. What more could you want from the first episode of a new season?
[flower=frizz]
I felt it was too cluttered, too many sub-plots that weren't given enough screen time then killed off suddenly.
They also killed off the Dino, the one UNIQUE thing in the episode! we had the lizard people, we had "old" london about a million times, and we had robots. we never got a Dino before and it was an intelligent one at that so what do they do with that? BURN IT!!!!! ;_;
No pun intented but they could have given us a chance to "breath" during the episode instead of pilling it on.
Edit
to whom ever sent me that Gif. thank you :D made my smile ^_^
Well, there was a classic episode about dinosaurs being carried through time and terrorizing London. I don't think they'd want to repeat a story so closely like that.
