I don't think anyone really likes seeing the cs pushing, but im pretty sure you can't pay staff with sp (or at least they won't last very long if you do), so i dunno. If they can't make money as they were before, and they need to do this now, it's justifiable isn't it? to keep bringing you a site that we all enjoy? The point still stands that buying csc with usd only speeds up whatever you can do with sp.

If they start to release pet colors, or features that are only purchaseable in the cash shop without being traded amongst users, thats another story, isnt it? until then, though, im sure subeta and all these other types of games will walk the line between being a free service and feeding its staff.

I understand your frustration, I really do. I felt frustrated on multiple occasions with the cs and how it seems like csc was getting harder to attain, but I think that I focused too much on the bad. Like take a look at how much non-cs stuff got released this week alone since they announced last weekend's csc bonus: cavern of curios ornate bottles, plushie parlour experiment plushies, new jobs, eyebrow and eyeliner stuff, token shop release, new starter sets, one week GA for first year here, new saggi quest shop items, mystic spindles book prizes, cake contest, new iku-whatever fruit and revamps. ALL IN ONE WEEK. Not one of those cs or csc related. Man, I don't know about you, but that's a lot of stuff. ;O; I was on another site for years and we'd be lucky to get that many updates in three months' time. And subeta's doing all of this in a week's time.

Sure, there was a reminder of the csc bonus ending and another reminder that teiss retired in the cs, but that's only because people have complained about not getting reminded (though I think teiss should have been a warning, instead it seemed like a pointless oh this retired already no last minute warning btw but I'm digressing here). I think we all can appreciate being reminded in case we overlooked the original news post or we just forgot.

About cws, there's a really, really great thread with really nice people offering their very own cws for lend in the human avatars forum. :) Sure, you do need collateral, but if you can get your foot in the door with one cw, you can technically try borrowing others with it as collateral. Speaking as a wardrobe obsessed fiend and as someone with very picky wig standards, I get your cw lust (is it okay if I call it that? ;O; /flails), especially after those shiny wigs. If it makes you feel any better, the hair coupons subeta releases (while yes, they can be expensiveeeee themselves) are really decent substitutes. I can't tell you how many times I see a new and pretty cw wig and think oh this one is similar to x hair coupon's style. And that makes me feel loads better. Maybe strange, but it does. :'D

Ah no..anger was probably the wrong word. I just mean I worry people will think I'm bashing the site! Which I'm definitely not try to, I love subeta! (That's also why I didn't put this in bragging/complaining, I'm not trying to complain, just put my opinion out there? If that makes sense? Haha I'm getting a bit frazzled by this, since none of the threads I've made have gotten this much response in such a short time. I worry)

Yeah, you're really right :) I feel like I'm giving such a short response to your comment, which is so big and well-put, but there's nothing I can say besides that. You've definitely got it

On the topic of feeling as though the site is suddenly money grabbing, I think it comes from the site making so many bad decisions for so long, now they are trying to turn to a better direction that it feels like overkill.

Yeah, I think the recent CS/csc pushes are making quite a bit of people feel like this, but I also think that can't be dissociated from other site issues. Many older users have felt disincentivized when it comes to buying csc, for a number of reasons (there are other Feedback threads on that) and, as a result, staff has to advertise more (maybe pull up more CS features too) to get enough sales to keep the site up. Since the userbase seems to have minimal growth rates, there's hardly any new people willing to spend straight away.

One could argue that people with cash to blow will go much faster than those who may play all day, or that some csc features could've been up for sp, but this is a different issue and mostly related to the reason above, as I see. It's all about the site trying to keep its balance from being on the red. (That's also what triggered some users' concerns about the future of Subeta, financially speaking.)

I think improving the newbie experience absolutely isn't something that should rely on older users, as much as many of us would be willing to help even without receiving anything in exchange. People already have too many guides on the forums, that's actually part of the issue: they're all scattered apart and unintuitive. It goes from making site navigation more intuitive to having easily accessible guides (preferably in one place), also touching old issues like "why does this item do this", bug fixes and general item availability. Given staff has been putting some effort towards newbie retention lately, I hope more will be done in that area on the near future. c:

@ CWs, I feel much like , there has been some great non-CW content lately AND when it comes to wigs, well, I don't have csc to buy every hairstyle I like in every color I like, so I invest in coupons ^u^ But I do agree people put a crazy emphasis on the CW market, especially when it comes to some items, like fantasy ones. :x

[edit] On the "older users helping others" topic, my eternal respect goes to the people who run Subetalodge and Arvee (despite the new image host issue). Subetalodge in special, I really wish one day Subeta would incorporate some features similar to the ones they have! If they ever shut down, we'd be doomed, haha.

It's okay haha. :) I had a bunch of cw stuff wishlisted (either actually on site or just in my head lol), but then I realized that 1. might not work with rest of wardrobe 2. can be technically substituted with non-cw 3. can't justify the price ....and after applying those 3, it turns out I don't nearly lust after as many as I thought I did. I know logic is hard to replace lust with, but heeey, it can work and I personally felt loads better, so good luck to you (and if you ever want to borrow a cw I have - from an admittedly small collection haha - just poke me :3). (totally not meant to sound sarcastic at all btw ;O; )

I actually use that logic with almost everything, subeta or not! Don't need it, could get it cheaper, or would never use it? Don't buy it. It's saved me a ton of money! XD

(And lol if there are any CWs I have that you need to borrow from a most likely even smaller collection, I'd be happy to oblige!)

I don't think Subeta will ever go pay-to-play. One very simple reason is that it would drive almost everyone away. Most users can't afford to buy csc with real cash. They contribute nothing to the site sticking around, yet make up the largest portion of the userbase. So, how would driving the biggest group away help the site stick around? If Subeta went pay-to-play it would be the end of it.

To be honest, this idea has come up before. It's unfounded, quite frankly. It's come up on other sites as well and most -- if not all -- of them have never gone pay-to-play.

But I mean as a forum and HA heavy user, CWs are a huge part of the site. One that without CSC, you can&;t really take part in at all.

Yes you can. You absolutely can. You want CWs? Buy them with sP or buy csc with sP and then buy the items. There you go! Don't want to buy CWs or don't want to pay for them? You have thousands of official items to use. Tbqh, you're whining because you can't/don't want to buy CWs. You're blowing not using CWs out of proportion. Nobody needs to buy CWs to participate in making HAs.

I will love you forever if you trade me:

One of the reasons I love this site and no longer Neo, is because the CSC items are available to everyone. And you can use SP to obtain them. While I can be crazy and squander real $ occasionally on CSC, not all my friends can and I've enticed them to come by pointing out that they can still play fully without having to spend money.
