James froze as a wolf stepped out not to far ahead of him. He watched as it turned slowly and headed towards him. "Hey! Go away!" He yelled, backing away as it approached. He continued backing away, never having been one that liked animals much and especially not the kind that could rip him apart. As he backed away, a tree, which he was certain wasn't there before, met his back. "Shoo. Go home." He called to it, inching around the tree.
Sade continued to watch from the shadows of the trees, surveying and watching. 'Powers?' she pondered. 'curses? This has to be a fever induced nightmare.' she thought, shaking her head. She stepped away from the shadow of the tree, intrigued to see it follow her, clinging to her as if wishing it was apart of her. "Do you know what our 'powers' are?" She asked aloud, quoting the term powers in the air. If they did have special abilities, she was certain hers had something to do with the shadows now following her.
I wish to be the Ice that so Haunts me...
Red listen carefully to that the strange spirit girl had to say about the whole entire situation, which was already hard to believe to begin with but hey he was willing to believe anything so far, it not like he had a choice not to. “So let me get this straight, our bodies are in a coma back on earth and the reason why everyone kicking the bucket is because something is wrong with…whatever we are now, and we're here to fix it? Humph, and here I thought the whole sickness thing was prelude to a Zombie apocalypse and our soulless bodies was munching on everyone right now. Whatever, so when do we get to see our power…or how it activated and what up is with this curse thingy. Damn this is all just too weird to handle.”
Red gave his head a good gruff scratch, not paying any attention to the spirit girl's warning of the sun going down and appeared to watch nervously as though she was preparing for what’s to come. Oddly, his hand no longer feels the sting of the cut early…actually it fell heavier for some odd reason and ached with a new kind of pain, but his head was too muddled with confusion and the sheer weight of all of this crazy information. So when he heard someone mention X-men, a common earthly topic, though meaning and off course, served as a great way to get some of his mind off of this insanity. But has he move his hand away for a quick look… and realized the horror of what’s about to happen as twilight began to fade into the night.
“Hey man, I think I know which character you talking about, his name is-wait a second why is my hand all furry… MOTHER SUPERIOR WHAT IN GOD'S NAME IS GOING ON WITH MY HAND!!!!”
Like that Red stretched is hand far away from his body like a diseased limb as it painfully became furry is the fingers began to crunch and shape into a more paw like structure as he nails became thick claws and his palm started to thicken into a black pad. He also soon notice a wave of what appeared to be dark magic began to crawl away from his hand…and straight towards the rest of his body, at a (unusually) and very painfully slow. Red had no idea that unlike the others, who will be experiencing the same thing shortly, something was very wrong with him but that has yet to be reviled. Besides, he saw this as a perfect time to panic.
“Oh god! What that hell! I think I’m turning into a werewolf or something! Ah, it hurts! Wait minute, why is everything hurting now. What happening to me!” Red, like anyone else would, had no idea how to react to his predicament and began to shake his paw-hand around like he was trying to fling something off of it, or shake it back to normal. He desperately wanted to run, flee, run away from all this and this weirdness (at least, that what was his body was telling him to do now) but the pain he began to feel all over kept him from getting away from the others…and utter confusion made prance all around in a crazed and panic manner randomly around everyone. His eyes began to tear up with pain and fear. He wanted to vomit as he left rather queasy (thankfully it never came to that) to his stomach as he continued to feel like his body was bracing up for something big as the darkness on his arm began to spread. His infected hand as now a full red paw as the curse magic fulled away from it like a small moving flame. Was it a surprise that he now wished this was all but a terrible dream?
(Aw, sweet human hysteria, you gotta love it.)
"Be calm," Ruga said to the lost boy. He was trying to be as soothing as possible, and yet urgent, but he had a feeling that was going to be a challenge. Wolves are stereotyped as ruthless killers after all. no one really understands how majestic, and gentle they can be. Especially magical ones that used to be human. Ruga longed for Alena to be at his side. She would have known how to handle this with subtle grace. He approached the now cornered human, and put his head under its hand. A harmless gesture that any domesticated dog would perform. He hoped the familiarity of the act would gain him the humans trust. It was then that he felt a dark energy taint the scent of the wind. "Quickly, " he implored, "climb on my back, we must go to them.
Ila, just as several others were sure to be, was terrified at the sight of the cocky delinquent looking boy changing form. It was morbid. He was clearly in a lot of pain, and was thrashing about in shock. Then she realized that the ghost girl had said they were all cursed. That made her panic. She stood, and grasped a handful of her girl-crush's sleeve, clinging to it for some kind of reassurance. There was nothing she could do, she realized, but wait.
Alena's powers vibrated all around her as she turned transparent for a moment before remembering her duty and becoming solid again. "Please," she spoke out in Red's general direction, "try to stay calm. The first change is always painful; if you resist it hurts even more!" She closed her dark blue eyes a moment, remember the first time she had changed. The pain, how she thrashed about the ground, and screamed. She looked towards the setting sun again, only the soft glow was there now. The rest of the heroes would be changing shortly, she had run out of time to explain. It would be difficult to explain to them in her nightmareish wolf-form. They were already frightened enough, the night's darkness only brought more fears.
Jupiter blinked, confused completely. "Powers?" He glanced over to the two girls he had touched earlier. He still couldn't quite figure out if that light from his hands had hurt them or not. But.. He stood quickly and jogged over to Red. If his assumption was right, he had the power to heal and he could ease Red's pain. "Let me help. "He spoke quickly before setting both hands on Red's shoulders. His hands radiated with light as they had before. He wasn't completely sure what he was doing, or how he had managed to call his power up again, surely the ghost girl could-- He turned his head slightly to see Alena backing towards the river. Surely she had experienced this before, right? What was she afraid of?
(Where is everybody? O.o)
[I know right. Thus time its not the thread though. This story is juicy as heck Cx their probably just busy]
Holly twitched as another girl spoke up from the trees, she gripped her branch tighter before turning to looking, having nothing to say about whether or not they were cursed, it was obvious some of the people already had abilities. Her attention turned back to the main area as Red started screaming and panicking. Holly's instincts told her to run but her feet weren't responding. Why was the ghost lady backing up? She wondered, but before she could put any more together she noticed a pain in her feet, like her shoes were pinching her. She kicked them off, screaming as claws pocked through her socks. The rest of her started to snap and crack as grey colored fur started to spread along her body. She didn't want to think about what the parts of her that she couldn't see looked like. Holly wanted to scream out like the other guy was doing but all she could do was whimper. Tears began to stream down her face as she collapsed into a ball, whimpering quietly to herself.
Elena spun as another voice popped up, the flames that had been playing at her fingers sprung to a flame that engulfed her entire hand. She continued to watch her, suspicious as the other girl trailed shadows behind her. Her eyes flicked back to the screaming boy, barely registering that his had was turning into a paw with all of his flailing around. She didn't notice the one girl backing up, but the yelp of the branched girl made her turn slowly. "Great, just fantastic." she grumbled, the flames slowly dying on her fingertips. She didn't know anything that she could do to help either of them, instead she sat down, accepting that the ghost girl had been telling the entire truth. Although Elena was a fighter she knew when things couldn't be avoided, and apparently pain was unavoidable. Small tremors of pain raced down her back, slowly increasing in intensity and frequency. Her body was forced forward and she was sent to the ground by a particularly painful burst. She didn't want to look at was happening, knowing that if she saw what was causing the pain she'd want to panic and scream. Another shot of pain pulled her into a ball. That was when her bones started to break and she screamed, but her scream slowly turning into a howl. She could feel her hands and foot bones snapping and moving, pinching nerves as they rearranged, wishing that she was back at work where the biggest danger was dropping hot metal on herself. Her eyes opened at the sound, the scene around her looking as if it was daylight. She fought the pain, trying to ignore the signals that were being sent to her brain. Elena closed her eyes again, trying to stand only to discover that she could no longer stand on two legs. Carefully she opened her eyes to discover she had furred paws rather than hands. She looked around with fear and anger in her eyes, searching for the one who had warned them of this.
Sade stared in horror as one boy yowled in pain, her eyes wide. "What's going on here..." She mumbled. Her attention was pulled to her feet as something cold touched her leg. A shadow crawled over her, clawing at her. She screamed and tried to run but it held her, pain ripping through her body as she fell to the ground. Her body arched as it began its shift. Shadows crept from the tree line to slide over her skin, molding to her newly forming body as she screamed again, new shadows forming her pure black fur and her white eyes peering out from the darkness. As the shadows disappeared, she lay on her stomach, whining softly. She blinked, her newly white eyes seemingly empty yet full of life as she looked at the others in the group.
((Sorry for the shortness guys, I'm having issues with posts right now >.> ))
I wish to be the Ice that so Haunts me...
Lee had been silent taking in the information. He just couldn't wrap his mind around it. He understood the coma but would have thought it was because he drowned not because he was supposed to save the world, he wasn't cut from that cloth. "I don't want this. Send me back." He thought he was dead, and sure the coma was far better than death, but he had a life, things he wanted and this was certainly not on that list. "I have things to do, I have a competition in three weeks, I have to win. Send me back." He crossed his arms, hips cocked slightly. He gripped his hands digging his short nails into his palm trying to ignore the energy buzzing in his veins. He could feel it, the power. Part of him wanted to keep it, so much power more than he could ever hope to achieve back home; but the other half, the sensible half knew that all power came with a price.
He opened his mouth to argue further but was cut off as the boy from the woods began a slow and painful transformation to a wolf. "Oh hell no! I am not doing that, send me back." Lester was acting like a child and he knew it, but he didn't care. It was against his will and he didn't want this. He was determined not to have this. Watching in horror and fascination the wolf began to talk.
Lee shook his head, walking up to the spirit he raised a finger like his teachers used to do when they scolded him, "Look Lady." he'd only shifted his finger but saw through the wisp of a woman as the river detoured to crash into a tree. Stunned he attempted the feat again making a punching motion towards the river. The water moved away from him yet again returning almost to his feet before continuing its course. "Water..." he mused. He shouldn't have been surprised after all he was the one standing in a forest with nothing but his swimming trunks on.
"I-" Lee began again and again was interrupted this time by an excruciating pain. It felt like every bone in his body was breaking tenfold. He fell to the floor of the forest writhing about dark spots appeared before his vision. He fought the pain and it was all the more painful. The pain was everywhere in his arms, his legs... he cried out in agony as his leg twisted, it was as if it had a life of its own. As his other limbs followed suit, it didn't take long for everything to go dark.
When he awoke the sharpness of everything startled him he backed up turning this way and that, he felt as if he'd shrunk. Around him were several other wolves, all of them with different colors. He reached up to rub at his face expecting his callused palms only to find rough brown almost black fur surrounding a hard palm. "Oh hell no!"
(so yeah Lee passed out cause he's weak. WEEEAKKKK)
The light from Jupiter’s healing touched made the pain much more…tolerable, for Red was already doubled over with pain and was literally drooling with misery as it began to spread all over now. The small black patch that was once only on his warn soon mushroomed all over his body and practically enfolded him, clothing, shoes and all as it began to spread a little faster. Once the darkness completely covered one section of his body it almost instantly transform into a much more canine like form and soon fell from Jupiter’s hand and began to come close to finishing his transformation.
His wolf like body soon began to take its final shape but then… something went completely wrong. Once he opened his mouth again to make a sound, instead of it being a growl or a howl…it was a snicker…then a giggle… before it became a full blown inhuman cackle. For some odd reason, Red could stop laughing, he probably lost his mind to madness now, he just kept on it as a wave of visible but unnatural purple energy swept through his body as though it was some sort of signal for what is about to come.
And with that, what was going to be a wolf-like anatomy quickly mutated into something else entirely. His legs became thicker; the through limbs were a bit longer than his hind legs, giving him that top heavy look. What could have been an elegant wolf body became larger than that of a normal wolf and oddly a bit heftier as it began to bulk up with muscle and fat. His bushy tail shrunk down and became shorter. His neck became longer and long jaws reached back into a shorted but stronger muzzle. As one last additive, his ears became large and round and a scruffy mane soon swept down is long neck. With that, his coloration finally came in, he was a vast orangey red with a creamy under body and his coat soon became speckled with dark red spots and his mane became an even darker red with a black tip.
Soon once he was done and the pain finally subsided he soon ceased his maniacal laughter and began to realize that something is not right about him. First he looked at the others, all becoming normal wolves, then to himself and his awkwardly large body and the repeated this action several times more. Eventually he became satisfied with his looks and finally said this.
“I think I need a refund.”
Turns out, Red doesn't even have a wolf form to call to like everyone else. For, standing before thing, was an ungodly huge, pot-bellied, scruffy, giraffe-necked, ugly, smelly, almost unrealistically Lion king like Spotted Hyena!
And want to know the weirdest part with all this? If he was a female…he would have been even bigger! Boy the animal kingdom can strange at times.
Hellig was able to push down his skin changing into metal by taking deep breaths. If he lost in, he’d lose control. Simple enough. His red hair fell over the scarred right side of his face, his icy eyes focused on the ghost. He looked at Alvania and she glanced back. She bent down, protective over the smaller female.
“Shhh,” her voice was fluid and warmth, smooth and gentle, like sunshine on a hazy spring day, “Just stay close.” Golden honey hair cascaded in waves over her shoulders and she felt a molten warmth flowing through her veins. It was like she was slowly being set on fire from within.
They were here to save everyone back home. They were cursed here. But they had to do their best. Alvania’s eyes shot to the shouting punkish male. His hand was getting... furry. Hellig seemed to notice too. Wonderful. There were going to change into animals.
“Keep calm,” Alvania murmured to anyone who would listen to her, “Just stay calm. It’s best to watch what happens and not to panic. Just stay together and stay calm.”
“You’re taking this well,” Hellig hissed, “Stay calm?! We are talking about turning into-” A girl’s scream from the treetops cut him off. He sank back into the shadows of the trees, eyes scanning each person for signs of change.
Alvania remained calm on the outside. She turned to the other girl. “No matter what, stay close,” she said, eyes locking with the other girl, “Okay? No matter what.” She looked up at the girl near them, once she too started to turn. “Everyone calm down,” she said in a clear smooth voice, “Stay calm!” People were changing one after another. And Alvania could feel her own change coming on, like fire eating her inside out.
Hellig growled and groaned, the icy in his veins paralyzing him. It felt like a thousand blades cutting him open and breaking his bones, fitting and crunching them back at their own will. All he saw was black spots, his teeth elongating as he cried out. Arms and legs withering as fur pushed out from his skin. The pain overtook him and when he came to he was close to the ground and breathing heavy.
As a wolf he was so many mongrel shades of brown and grey, he growled, rather insulted. But his eyes were a deep cold shade of black, practically unforgiving and with no light. And his paws were small, with long sharp ears. and his eyes were a deep cold lightless pool of blacks. He shot over to the river and looked at his reflection. A jagged nasty scar on the right side of his face and he growled up at the ghost.
Alvania however just stood and closed her eyes. Meditation was something her family practiced. It hurt, the fire in her veins, but she could try. With only a pained but concentrated look on her face, she embraced the change. Maybe it would hurt less if she did that. Her mind rebelled at the thought of changing though. Fire in her blood, she let out a soft growl, her teeth elongating then her bones rearranging. Nails growing into claws, she felt her body bend and twist, the fire consuming her.
When she opened her eyes she was on the ground. Or closer to it. But she stood with all the grace and power she could muster. A majestic wolf that looked like a wintery husky, her white face showed off bi-colored eyes, one emerald green and one sapphire blue. Her strong legs were a pure snowy white, her teeth sharp and her claws black and short. But she had a strong jaw and when she let out a smooth howl, she found she had an even stronger voice. A body built around sound, she let out a soft musical howl once more.
Her voice was strong and clear, like crystalline water, her gem colored eyes calm and gentle. Hellig Wolf whimpered and retreated to stand by Alvania Wolf. She sang a bit soft, a bit more gentle, like a ballad of a mother wolf. It was meant to soothe and calm those who wished to hear it. When she stopped, she turned and looked at where the ghost girl had been. She would give the answers.
Alena stepped back more until she was standing in the river's edge. The water startled her at first, but she was more concerned at the angry looking heroes. She huddled down close to the ground, afraid of what they might do to her if they thought that this was her fault. "Please," her voice quivered as she choked back her fears, "you mustn't fight the transformation! And, you mustn't let go of yourself, lest you be stuck as a wolf!" She glanced over to Red as his transformation started to come to an end. Her eyes widened, she hadn't seen this before. Her group had all turned into wolves. She glanced from girl to boy to wolf to hyena, watching them as they all changed. She could feel the moonlight seeping into her skin calling for her to change, but she knew how to hang on to herself for as long as she could before she turned. As she watched the new heroes, as she knelt in water soaking he ragged dress, her fears began to cease as the wolf in her soul began to cry to be free. The silver ring around the pupils in her eyes expanded, pushing the blue back to the very edges of her irises; this gave her an even more ghostly effect as she began her change from sad little girl into a nightmarish fairy-tale creature.
As Jupiter's hands parted with Red, he could feel the pain creeping up his legs as he began his slow and painful change. He clamped his teeth down and closed his eyes as bones began to pop, crack, bend, and twist. He backed up from Red as not to land on him as he fell to the dirt. He cried out only once before Alvania's wolf song reached his ears, calming his nerves as his transformation proceeded onward. He dug his fingers into the dirt as they became claws. He opened his eyes slightly, the moon glinting off of the gold streak in his left eye as he clearly saw his mouth and nose become a muzzle. His body ached, but he could tell that it was over, he sank to the floor of the forest and somehow managed to figure out how to wrap his tail around him. The moonlight seemed to glaze his coat for it was bright gold! However, the parts of him that were still shaded by the trees were white.
Ruga didnt miss a beat. He was off the moment the boy was on his back. It was already beginning to change, so he went fast. He flew over streams and between trees. Alena's scent was strong, close. He found his way to the river easily, only to find it was too late. The Heroes were already changing. The wild ripping sounds and bone crunches were nostalgic for Ruga in a strange way. He found a familiarity he had long forgotten. Alena was changing too, though she had never really liked it. Ruga, on the other hand, had liked it too much and look were that had gotten him. He dropped low so the boy was on his feet, and darted out from under its strattle, going over to Alena. "Did you have time to explain?" he asked. Remembering how way back the old heroes had some how linked as a pack and instantly learned each other's names.
When Ila felt fur between her fingers, she let go in fear. Looking with wide eyes at all the others, even Alvania changing into terrifying wolves. Wait, how did she know her crush's name all of the sudden? At that moment she felt a pain of her own, but it was very different from the blood boiling, bone crushing pain that the others were going through. This was in her head, face, and every muscle in her body. It felt like she was doing a year's worth of high-intensity lifting all at once, and her eyes, mouth, and brain were on fire. Once the pain subsided she looked into the nearby water to see that she had wolf's eyes, but they were bright, almost glowing green. Her top and bottom canine teeth were longer and sharper, like a wolf's. Her perception was altered, hightened even. She felt like she could hear, see, and smell absolutely everything, and she could definitely see that her muscles were very toned and strong- looking. She took off her familiar grey hoodie, showing her cami holding firmly against her lean muscles. Thankfully she didnt look manly. She had a body morelike the girl in the dancing clothes. A new wolf, white with magical shifting tribal designs, appeared, and Ila went back to Alvania, Wrapping her arms around her fluffly neck with a sense of affectionate safety.
[ wolf girl. you like??]
((I like~! :D Now... To wait for others to reply, so I can reply. -.-"))
“Okay somebody better start saying something because I seriously want to know what the hell is going on here or else I’m officially aborting myself from this stupid dream… And why am I a damn Hyena while everyone is a kick ass wolf… another thing why are we even animals in the first flipping place! Why isn’t anyone saying anything, this eerie silence is starting to creep me out?”
Red continued to blabber on nervously, breaking the eerie silence that hushed over everyone as they finally achieved their animalistic forms. His hulky body sucked out like a sore thumb. Instead of it being sleek, somewhat realistic, majestic and beautiful wolves while he was… well basically a hyena of all things.
He tried to walk closer to the ‘head honchos’ of this weird predicament but suddenly he found himself tittering over on himself, a basic sign that he had no idea how to use his ‘new body’. Eventually this resulted in a series of silly stunts that appeared to be taken straight from the movie Bambi as Red fruitlessly tried to gain control over his wonky body. “Crud, how does this even work! I thought this was supposed to be easy like crawling but it’s like I’m walking on my fingertips!”
James yelped as the wolf took off, slipping off of his back when he finally stopped. "Where... Who... What?" He questioned, sitting as a wave of dizziness swept over him. He growled softly as he body began to change, a rainbow of putrid colors washing over his skin. He doubled over, his face meeting the ground painfully but the motion was unnoticed by him as he watched his hands shift into paws. Fur crept out from under his clothing, the sound of his clothes ripping off causing him to jerk his head around. His eyes began to fade, turning a sicking green color. His body shuddered, finishing his transformation as his putrid looking fur exposed itself. He lay on his stomach, confused and frightened, looking as if his fur had already begun to rot, a sign of what element the fates had chosen for him.
I wish to be the Ice that so Haunts me...
