Yeah that can definitely happen with meds, is there a reason you didn't take them for 2 days, do you want to elaborate. I don't want to be nosy, but if you want to talk about it? I take a lot of meds (pain, depression, anxiety to name a few) so I'm no stranger to medication.

I'm sorry that you don't like looking younger. Even when I was 20 I enjoyed it, lol!! Back in those days the legal drinking age was 18 so I pretty much always got carded and that was sort of fun. It was weird though, cause I was in college and all the ppl I hung out with were partiers. We never got too serious about the academics. I kept dropping out and then I finished when I was in my 30's. Being at the University was a great education in life though. That part was really good, and now I rarely drink.

I'm on things for my bipolar depression, anxiety, and add. I take some in the morning and certain ones at night.

It's not that I don't like it it's more that people I don't know want to help or take care of me since I look younger and I'm really not good with people

My husband was bipolar so I know a bit about living with that from HIS POV and being with him every day for over 4 yrs and being very close, and simply seeing how it affected him, though everyone is different (and I might be bipolar as well, the jury is still out)

I'm sorry to hear that. I hate it when ppl try to take care of me and say stupid things that don't apply to my life, etc. I used to be good with ppl but I'm a hermit now. Joe had a very hard time with ppl and I think the bipolarism truly made it hard for him to be around ppl, he always said he felt that there were electrons firing in his head so he couldn't deal with being in the world much.

I know it's hard to get stabilized with meds too. He took one that made him sleep ALL the time, too much, and that bothered him a lot. If you missed a med and it was one of those type, or one for anxiety it could definitely affect your sleep. Sorry, it sounds as if you're going through a rough time.

It's VERY hard to get anything right with the meds. For me it's never perfect. One thing too much keeps me up and always tired. the other too high and it messes with my liver... my add med it so expensive but otherwise I get edgy...

You definitely have my sympathy and understanding with how hard all of that is. I've never found an anti depressant that really works, and it's my pain meds that actually are helping for anxiety but my doctor wants me to stop taking them, even though I have a physical disorder that causes all over pain. He doesn't realize how very much pain I'm truly in, and that is just the physical part.

Also, as far as ADD and other stuff, I was born in 1955 and I think (and my doctor is starting to "get" it) that I've had PTSD for a LONG time, as well as ADD, but when I was growing up those things were SO overlooked, especially in girls. I've been anxious and edgy since I was 3, and I don't even know what happened to me that I would have PTSD, it might have been cause I was a sick baby and had to be re-admitted to the hospital when I was only about a week old. They never picked up crying babies in the 50's, they had this misinformed idea that it made children worse if you comforted them, which is of course the exact opposite. Sigh! I was a basket case and crying and reacting hysterically to everything when I was young and getting yelled at for being too sensitive.

I know how horrible that feels. I was constantly yelled at (by my father) from the time I was only 3, for being too sensitive and it only made me MORE sensitive. People can be SO ignorant!! Sorry that you suffer from that too! It's just not right!

BTW, I really like your user name. It reminds me of these candies they made when I was a kid. They were pastel dots on paper, and we would buy a strip of them and then peel them off. I don't remember what they were called. I doubt that they make them anymore because they were not wrapped up, they were open strips just sitting in the candy bin. Back in those days nobody worried about someone poisoning products in a store. The good old days.

Thank you!! After I wrote that I had a vague image in my mind of those candy's wrapped in cellophane. I think I DID see them in a convenience store in the last 10 years. When we bought them unwrapped, well that was 50 yrs ago, god I'm old!!

OK I think I'm vaguely familiar with those. I don't think they had those when I was a kid, and if they did I probably didn't like them since I'm a chocolate fiend. Now that you've described them again I can see them in my mind, though. I wonder if they made those years ago, probably. I think they're the exact same size and shape as the chocolate ones.

I remember when candy was sold in bulk bins at candy counters in department stores. They probably had the pastel wafer candies in those bins. When we shopped at those stores (a big treat since they were about an hours drive from where I lived) my mom would always take me to the candy counter and I'd usually get something chocolate. Then when I was a teen I discovered white chocolate with almonds in it: almond bark, and I was a goner. It's not really chocolate but it's rich and fatty like chocolate.

I'm a huge fan of the flavored tootsie rolls. It's hard to find them around though... They usually show up in bulk random candy bags around this time of year

I don't think I've ever seen any flavored Tootsie rolls. And I'm "old" so if there is something that is just like a tootsie roll, but not specifically a Tootsie roll brand, I probably wouldn't even think about it as being a tootsie roll, even if it's essentially the same thing. I guess just cause when I was growing up the only candy like that WAS the original Tootsie roll. It's sort of like when we all refer to any brand of tissue that you blow your nose on as Kleenex, even though it could be Puffs or some other brand, you know?

Oh!! I just remembered this: there are some candies made by Brachs that I used to see in bulk bins in the grocery store that were just like tootsie rolls and they had different flavors that were in the center. There were vanilla, maple, raspberry, chocolate, and maybe coffee and perhaps another fruit flavor. Are those the ones you meant? I had completely forgotten about those candies. I LOVE those!!! I don't go out to shop anymore so I have sort of forgotten what's in stores. I mean, I rarely go, someone usually shops FOR me, and I pay them out of my little income from disability.

No the things I'm talking about are tootsie roll brand. I don't know how recently they started making them but for me it's a big treat to find a place that sells them.

Grrr candy is making me hungry so I'm gonna change the subject. I just got a new pair of boots as a present from one of my best friends because their expensive and it would take my whole paycheck to buy them on my own. They're a beautiful pair of Dr Martins I love them to death.

Oh wow, I had no idea that Tootsie Roll made flavored ones. Thanks for clearing that up for me!!

OK no more talking about that...shhh. Wow, that sounds like a wonderful present, and what a great friend. :)

I actually have no clue what those boots are, but I've heard of them. Can you post a photo? Are they for snow and cold or are they more of a dress boot? I lived in a snowy place "most" of my life (til I was 36) and now I live in Sacramento CA, so there's no snow here. I don't like it here at ALL. (not anymore, I only liked it for about 5 yrs and now I want to go back and live where there are seasons, real seasons)

So, I'm going to bed now (I hope) I've been awake for over 24 hrs. I'm not sleepy but I'm going to watch something on Netflix.

I'd love to see your boots if you can show me a photo! I hope you're having a nice day or night? It seems you usually post at a time of day when it's night (or late afternoon) here, and I was wondering if you're in Europe or Australia. I often end up finding friends from places other than the US cause I'm usually awake all night, but now I'm going to try to go to sleep in the evening. It usually doesn't work, but we'll see!!

I hope you're having a good one!! :)

If I could figure out how to post pictures then I will definitely show you. But they're the most famous pair of combat style boots there is. They're so comfortable too.

And here I thought that everyone who was under 30 knew how to post links!! I guess that's an assumption that I made, since almost everyone who's younger than I am knows so much more about computers.

OK that's very cool!! Do you like to wear dresses? I think that combat boots look really cool with certain types of dresses, though I rarely wear dresses these days. I have trouble with shoes (fit, comfort, support etc) but I had a pair of hiking boots once that were pretty cool looking that I wore with dresses. I'm much older than most ppl who dress that way so I got a lot of weird looks, but at the time I still looked good (I was in my 40's) and I liked being trendy in SOME ways, but only if it results in something that's comfortable that looks good on me. I won't wear something trendy that's NOT comfortable or NOT me!!

I HATE heels (dressy girl shoe heels) and they're terrible for your back. So many fashions are NOT good for the body. The combat boots were MADE to support your body so they're a good fashion statement as well as not being something that will ruin your feet, knees and back. :)

Truly a very very cool gift from your friend!!!
