It was bought to my attention that there's a Portuguese site that is stealing various art from around the internet, and advertising the stolen artwork as coloring pages. The site in question is here.
http://pt.imagixs.com/ The english site is http://imagixs.com/
I was able to search for my old internet handle on the Portuguese site and found one of my sketches on their site. They appear to hotlink directly to images, so deleting said image hopefully helps a little. I advise anybody to search for their deviantart names, tumblr names, etc. to see if anything if yours was also added to this site.
If you find your artwork on this site, I strongly recommend contacting these people to have your artwork taken down. Since they hotlink to images, moving or deleting your image should also help for an immediate fix. If you're unsure of how to send a request to have stolen artwork removed, I suggest looking at this article, since this is something I'm going to follow myself.
I would preferably like to see this site taken down, considering how much stolen content is on their site.
@ Yoshi First I've heard of this site. That's not cool. :|
Found out through Twitter that they have a French site too: http://fr.imagixs.com/
Tried some other countries and found Italian and German too. http://it.imagixs.com/ and http://de.imagixs.com/
There are probably more.
Edit: Yep. There are more. Links right at the bottom of the page. xD There's one more I missed out "es" leads to a Spanish version.
Couple of entries on Tumblr people might find interesting. One person got their work removed from the ENGLISH site, only to find it was still available in the other languages. Someone else found that the site is hosted with GoDaddy, and there is an email address you can try contacting about any stolen work.
Oh wow, that's gross... Some of those things they have there advertised 'for kids' are kinda...questionable??
I'd love nothing more than to see this site taken down.
Thanks for the link to the article. I'm sure it will come in handy. :)
Woah, found a friend's piece there. I'm sure she does not know about this either, thank you for this warning. What are they thinking??
There are some coloured pieces finding their way on there too, so even if you've never posted lineart online, it's worth checking anyway. You might even find some other work you recognise. I was looking up one friend's username, which bought up nothing directly related to him, but in that same search I did find a piece ripped from another friend's dA. D:
If any of you use the Change.org website, there is a petition against the site.
They have a Twitter account, but it doesn't seem to be in use. No tweets: https://twitter.com/imagixs They also have a Tumblr page. Just one post advertising the site: http://coloringpages951.tumblr.com/
Thanks for those links . I added my signature to the petition site, and had already contacted this site prior to have them remove my work that I've seen.
An admin on another site advised me to do a WHOIS search on the domain and look for the host (which is godaddy), then send the host a DMCA takedown notice. I'll be doing this if I don't get a response from them within the next few days. For anyone interested, there is a guide on how to report a website for art theft here.
If anybody sees their own or a friends work on this site, show them the link so they too can file a DMCA notice against this site. I'm hoping that the site's host will act faster if they get multiple complaints against this site. Unfortunately I don't know if this will affect the mirror sites outside of the US, but it might.
pinging arteest friends
I mean the things on this site are lines but still. could be anybody :| (though... a bit skeptical about "searching" for things because there was that other site that grabbed things that were searched :x )

wtf is this?!? brb searching all my friends stuff there -_- it looks like they claim they're just a search engine but really?! people dont even /know/ that this exists and is pulling their images like that without permission ughh
Well, it is a search engine of sorts, I guess. They're not hosting the images. Just providing a way to find specific pieces. I've seen several people point out on other sites that they're not really stealing the images. The site links to the originals.
But they ARE giving visitors the wrong impression. The site is telling people they can find colouring pages there, but a lot of the content they link to was NOT created for others to colour! It's encouraging people to take and edit work that they have no rights to. They link directly to the image alone; bypassing any description left by the artist. People who visit the site looking for colouring pages are given the impression that it's fine to take and use the pictures, unaware that the artist may actually have said NO. No you may NOT take and alter my work!
So maybe the site hasn't actually stolen any art, but what they're doing leads to art theft. It's just as bad. They need to either rethink their whole system, and ensure they have permission to share art as colouring pages, or shut down.
Completely agree with you. I liked the sites proposition, but they're just doing things wrong! They haven't provided any direct link to my personal gallery or the original deviations, and while the drawings they're displaying from my artwork (at least the ones I founded) are ok to be edited, I found another friend's works which I think wasn't. I'm getting in contact with the site by their main channel.
Well, well, well, seems like they've got a nice little collection of commissions I've drawn, there. :I Each of my commission has a written description saying that it can only be used and/or edited by the commissioner alone so by advertising the pictures as free colouring pages they're actively encouraging art theft without the site's visitors even being aware of it. -__-
Edit: Or perhaps I should say that they're making everyone using the art a thief without them even being aware of it so really, that's even worse.
Thanks for the heads up!
I haven't found any of my work there yet, presumably because my old dA accounts had very little quality lineart on it, and I upload small to Tumblr (or water marked) but I'll definitely keep looking. [edit] Nope, found some, but stuff I was going to be taking down anyway. some of your work is on here.
did you upload this set of images anywhere? I just cleared out my tinypic account but this is still showing up. (EDIT: I'm having this with a few of my older image hosts, might be a cashe thing.)
Every single image I have found on there of mine so far is one I've draw for someone on Subeta, or one I've posted on Subeta. There is one here of an original species of mine, and the 'title' showing up on the site is what I posted on the forums, I just found it again via google search, I need to delete those posts to get rid of the images I think. Might be worth pinging artsale or the news ping to spread the word, since this has to be someone scouring Subeta specifically, not just Deviantart and Tumblr, and only a member of Subeta would think of it as a place to go looking for art.
just to give you a heads up.
This IS a steal-as-you-search!
I didn't search my stuff yesterday but searching it today from my DA they come up. I'm very disappointed that my suspicions are correct.
they are hosted by GoDaddy and their WHOIS says they're registered in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. (so yay they would be under jurisdiction of US copyright law?) ... though I hate to think that this might be some student who is playing/pet project-ing data mining with this site, because it seems to be what it's doing. They might think it's okay to hotlink and "it's not actually art theft if I'm not hosting it". gAH

I know a lot of you either post your art online or know people who do.
That link just takes me to tinypic's website so I assume it got taken down? Sorry about all this happening to you!
Ah good, they must just have a longer cashe than my Puu.sh account. Thank you ^^
I have also found some of your work on there, at least that that happens to come up under my username when it's searched x_X
I've taken down all the images of mine that were up there. The one that was on my Puu.sh account is now a dead link. But apparently Tinypic and Upload.ee, though the images are gone from my account, are still showing, which is a bugger. Though Dippy says I liked to a dead image (but I can still see it) and that was the same URL as on the website, so presumably still cashed somewhere. I hope this swine gets closed down.
Not sure if it affects any of you guys personally, but this is a rather important issue.
@ Chen Well damn. I never saw the other site you mentioned in your previous post, but that sucks if this is the same sort of site.
I've yet to get any sort of response from this site when I asked them to remove my work. I deleted the picture they hotlinked on my own, but to me it's already apparent these people don't care, even if it is a steal as you search site. I'm going to send a DMCA notice to their host later today.
[edit] For anybody else who needs to file a copyright claim against this site, godaddy's instructions are here, and I would follow this tutorial if you're not sure what to do.
