-- and yes, Elke and Darren can know each other. Maybe they can even find the Underland together... like they were working on a school project together in the park and discovered the entry? --

Footsteps echoed though the empty Hospital hall way as Paige made her way through the mazes of hallways looking for the exit. Her white hair was spotted in red, and there was a bandage wrapped around her forehead covering a gash. A old pair of worn goggles in her hand. She sighed to herself as she walked to another dead end. She had been flying around on Tobias when they had spotted some rats at the edge of the city, she had flown down and she had gotten off and started to attack the rats before they could try and break into the city. With her sword and a knife she had drove most away but when she turned to get back onto Tobias a rat came out of nowhere and dragged her off him, hitting her head hard on the ground and opening a gash in her arm in the process. She was able to kill the rat before falling unconscious, Tobias then had flown her to the medical wing. As she made her way back down a hall she turned a corner and hid as a nurse walked by. She then walked down that hall and opened a door hoping to find it was an exit. She ran through it quickly, smiling glad to be outside again and out into the fresh air and out of the hospital. She glanced around the sky looking for a familiar black form. She smiled as the form of Tobias came into view as he flew closer to the balcony." Good morning Paige, glad to see you have once again checked yourself out of the hospital early." Key smiled and walked over hugging Tobias's neck." Hmm yeah...you know how I feel about hospitals..." Tobias laughed and hugged her side with his head." Well come along then... lets get going before a nurse comes to bring you back inside." Key laughed and nodded, and looked over at Tobias who nodded and turned taking flight. Key pulled her goggles over her eyes and ran to the edge before jumping off the balcony. Tobias swooped down beneath the falling Key. She landed on his back roughly with a laugh. He smirked as he flew faster, she could not help but smile as the wind blew through her silvery white hair. She only ever felt alive when she was flying. She felt better then she would have if she just had sat in the Hospital bed slowly letting her wounds heal.
They flew through the skies until she smirked seeing a bucket of cleaning water on a window edge. She grinned feeling like making some mischief. She grabbed the bucket as the flew past the window she then steered Tobias who understood his fliers idea and landed on a small nearby roof. She got off and walked to the edge, waited till she saw a couple hand in hand walk by and dumped the water on them. There was a startle scream and then a string of curses aimed towards Key who was laughing to loudly to hear. Tobias took off in the air as Paige ran over the roof and onto a balcony and then onto the street still laughing. She looked back to see the couple walking away mad, She gave a sharp whistle, and soon Tobias flew down and landed on the road in font of her " Lets go...." She said pulling her goggles over her head and then climbing onto Tobias who took off again. Tobias gave a small pur as he manurvered through the city towards the small house Key lived in by herself. After a while they soon landed a balcony of a small house in the city. Key got off and nodded walking through the door and into a sitting room." It's quiet tonight..."She said as Tobias walked into the room and sat by the door looking out at the city. She grabbed some food and brought it back to Tobias, she handed him his and walked over to sit on the edge of the balcony.

OOC: Urgh...I'm so bad at intros...xD Is the Underworld the same thing as the Overworld? Like, with all the houses and buildings and stuff?
-- The Underworld is the whole underneath. The city where the Underlander humans live is known as Regalia. It is a beautiful city made of stone, and no wood anywhere (besides the door to the prophecy room- that's the only wood). I imagine it to be like a small, quaint town :)
If you ever need to check up on details: The Underland wiki

ooc; Back from being grounded.. e_e
- The only thing is, Darren already knows about the Underland.. but maybe they could be in the park (working on a school project, like you said) and they come across the gateway to the Underland? But Darren has already been down there, since his grandfather told him about it. ;]
- What Nebula said :] Regalia is made out of stone, its not nearly as big as New York, and there's no skyscrapers or anything like that in it. There's a palace with a hospital wing, an arena for training (learning how to fight/fly) and the rest of the town. Surrounding Regalia is a big stone wall to keep out the gnawers.
- Btw, a group has been made :]
bic; Darren walked through the hallway, heading for his next class. He sat down, checking the time. He couldn't wait until school was finished so he could go to the Underland. He went almost every second day; through a passage under a boulder in Central Park. He learned how to fight and fly, and was friends with lots of the locals. His grandfather had told him about the Underland when he was 15, but his mother didn't know. He was snapped out of his daydreams when the bell rang; the last class of the day. He grinned, standing up. He'd be in the Underland within an hour.
Darren closed the front door of his house behind him as he walked inside, taking off his bag and leaving it in the corridor. He walked into his room, and saw his mom standing by his bed, a dagger and a script in her hand. "Darren, why do you have these?" she asked, thrusting both the items towards him. They were both from the Underland. "Um.. well.... its kind of hard to explain," he mumbled. "A knife and a scroll. Are they for a project in school or something?" she asked, frowning. Darren sighed and looked away. He didn't want to lie to her, but explaining the Underland would be difficult. "Ask grandad," he said, "I have to go." he turned, heading for the door. "Darren, I'm not finished! Come back, where are you--" his mom's voice was cut off as he closed the front door.
Darren slid the boulder to one side, slipping down into the gateway to the Underland. He pulled a mini flash-light out of his pocket and turned it on. He had arranged to meet with a flier here, to take him to Regalia. After he waited for a few minutes, a grey flier appeared. They greeted each other, and he climbed up onto its back. He felt bad about leaving his mom like that, but he hadn't been to the Underland in almost a week, and he was aching to go.
ooc; Asdfghjkl sorry for the crappy post, it didn't really make sense. My brain is tired.. :/
OOC: Thanks!! :D I'll read the Wiki haha, and I'll post an intro later. ^^ Gahh homework... x_x

Nodding her goodbye to the teacher, Elke hurried out of class a minute after the bell. Light pink backpack slung over on shoulder, she joined the mass of loud kids streaming out the front doors. Once out in the fresh air, she walked at a speedy pace down the steps and to the crosswalk on the corner, smiling and waving politely as someone called out a greeting to her. Elke made her way to Central Park, where she hung out and read some books everyday before her brother picked her up.
She decided it was time for a change, and sat on a park bench farther up the path, where there were less people. Elke was opening a book in her lap when she saw and recognized a boy from her school. She studied him as he crossed the grass and disappeared behind a bush, trying to place a name to his face. What's his name... Dan? Darwin?.... Darren. Yeah, that's it. What business could he have over here? I almost never see kids from school around here... Before she could even consider her actions, she found herself walking after him. She slid behind the bush and was just in time to see him disappear from sight. She jogged forward, mouth gaping open in shock. "Darren?" She yelled into the darkness below. "Hello?" All she heard was her voice echoing around the dark tunnel. She placed her foot on the first step down, peering down. She could see a light down below bobbing as Darren made his way down. Curiosity got the best of her, and she inched down. This is crazy! If this is like some hangout place, that would be so cool! she thought as she descended after the boy. The little heel on her brown combat books clicked and echoed around her as she took each step further into the darkness. The last step was before her, and Elke found herself on a platform. She also found Darren hopping onto a huge bat's back. What. the. hell. She thought, leaning against the wall for support. "Darren?" She called out again.
Terran caught up to a grey bat with an Overlander on his back, and matched his pace. "Greetings," He purred, dipping his head respectfully to Darren. He recognized the boy from his previous visits down, and even flew the boy himself to the arena once. "How are you?"
Ambrosia poked her head around the corner, making sure the coast was clear before she darted forward and slipped quietly into the Museum. She looked around in wonder at all the objects that had ended up in the Underland. She was here because she heard that they had just found some new items, and Ambrosia was dying to check them out. Walking over to a bin, she peered inside. Some more batteries, those green little papers with old guys faces on them....The usual. She frowned at the lot. Ambrosia had been hoping to find something cool this time, but there didn't seem to be anything interesting. She was about to turn around to leave, when something caught the torch light and sparkled. It was a necklace, a little circle charm on a silver chain. She reached out and stroked the charm delicately, then closed her fingers around it and lifted it out.
It had a little engraving in the back, but she couldn't make it out. She turned it around and was captivated by the front of it. It was a sun, right in the middle. Yellow and everything. Ambrosia held it up to the torch light, admiring it's beauty. Without really thinking, she pulled the chain over her head. The pendant rested against her chest, and she smiled. A noise in the hall startled her back into reality, and she quickly jammed the necklace under her shirt and out of sight, before whipping around as someone approached. "Ambrosia? What are you doing in here?" A guard narrowed his eyes at her. "Oh, just looking...." She said, giving a bright smile and laughing a little nervously. "Just going," She fast-walked to the door and slipped past the guard, giving him an innocent smile as she passed. She darted back around the corner, her heart beating. She couldn't stop smiling, and she pressed her hand over the pendant as she made her way to the training arena to wait for Terran, who was late as usual.

"Demitris, why don't you take a break?" his father called to him, taking the plow away from him, he clasped his son's shoulder affectionately as if to say You've worked hard son permission and gratitude in one simple action. Demitris grinned broadly, "Thanks dad," he dashed out of the field towards the house in the minimal light, "Matias!" he called, he could hear the loud flapping of wings as the large black bat landed on the other side of the house, he could vaguely make out the top of the bat as he skidded around the house. In Regalia, it was easier to spot the large black bat, there was enough light; but out in the tunnels, where light was scarce, they were as clear as the night sky during a storm.
Demitris grabbed at the Matias' shoulder, using the momentum to throw his body on top of the bat, "Let's go!" he whooped as the bat pushed off of the dirt floor, heavy wings pushing them forward and up. They plummeted towards the field, blowing the hats off his father and mother, only to pull up again sailing higher than before. Elation coursed through him, he always got a rush out of flying, an endless wind that slipped and slid over his body.
Matias loved flying, but not like the younger bats did it, not as a warrior, he flew because it was his passion, because it held this endless hope and desire, and every time he flew, it was like breathing in all the dreams of the people. He curled to the right, his human laughing in pure joy on his back. Matias had chosen Demitris for a reason, because they shared the same joy of flying, the passion bouncing between them was uncontrollable. He let out a call, the sound of it bouncing off the buildings of the city, a saw where the humans were looking at the flier, children with admiration and dreams of one day joining with fliers like Matias, adults who though claim otherwise, still harvested the dreams of connecting with fliers, and the elderly, who though lost the chance, still view the bats as a commodity. He saw a lone bat on a porch, Matias though, could not make out who the bat was from the lone call, likely it was one of the younger bats, those with fighting spirits who held resentments for the Gnawers though they knew not why. Matias had no wish to entertain the potentially young bat, soldiers where Matias' least favorite.
ooc; Nooooo!! I just had a super long post and my internet decides to crash :'(
bic; - "Greetings," a voice purred. Darren looked up to see Terran, a bat he had seen and talked to before in Regalia. "Oh, hey Terran," he grinned. He wasn't used to the formal regards used in the Underland. "Um.. greetings, I mean," he said, flushing. "How are you?" Terran asked. "I'm fine, you?" Darren replied. He opened his mouth to say something else, but stopped when he heard another voice. "Darren?" He looked up, and his heart skipped a beat. Crap! he thought. He slid off the back of the grey back, trying to hide the bat by standing in front of it. "Hey Elke, I was just... looking for my shoe," he said, forcing a smile. It was too late though: judging by the way she was leaning against a wall for support, she had seen the bat. "Never mind.. I'll explain when we get to the city," he said, taking her by the wrist and leading her towards the grey bat. He sat on Terran's back. "To Regalia, if you don't mind." he said to the bat.
ooc; I guess I'll make a male Underland character.. the boy girl ratio isn't very equal XD
Name: Luke Cinders Age: 17 Gender: Male Race: Underlander Species: Human Appearance: Luke is average height, with scruffy, dirty-blonde hair. He has pale violet eyes, with darker specks of purple in them. He's toned, and has a scar on his jaw from an encounter with a Gnawer when he was younger. Personality: Luke is guarded. He's not very friendly/outgoing around people he doesn't know well. He's hard on the outside and soft on the inside. Once he gets close to someone, he's extremely friendly, caring and protective towards them. He hates small talk and will go out of his way not to talk to certain people. He's very honest, wich comes off as rude to alot of people. Other: His father abandoned him and his mom before he was born, and his mom died of a sickness when he was 7. Panthea is the only one he's really close to, as she's his bond.
Paige and Tobias were soaring through the air, she let out a few excited whoops as Tobias did a few mid air spins which made Paige grin wider. She loved flying, it always put her in a new mood.l Especially doing different maneuvers, she was not one to just sit idly flying, she loved to do different stunts in midair. Her silvery hair blew around her wildly as they flew past buildings. She relaxed against Tobias' soft back." Your very calm today Key... any ideas of what we shall go do?" Tobias asked, his smooth voice spoke in almost a pur. She smiled and shrugged I'm not sure, I was thinking of going to the training arena ." They headed to the arena and landed softly next to a familiar girl. " Hello Ambrosia." Paige called to the other girl as she slid off the large bat. She pulled her goggles off, unable to sat them on her headn since she still had a bandage around it. ( love your new character!)

ooc; -Thanks ^^
bic; Luke was in th arena with Panthea, practising his flying skills. He was trying to learn a move called 'the coil', a complicated and dangerous spinning manouver. "Its not working," he muttered, cursing. "You'll get it eventually," his bond, Panthea, said. "Eventually." he sighed. "Oh, look, there's Ambrosia, Paige and Tobies.. I forgot to ask paige if she was ok, she was in a fight with gnawers. Let's go say hello!" Panthea purred. "I don't know them, lets just go home," Luke said. He was always uncomfortable around new people. But despite his protesting, Panthea flew down to them. "Greetings," she purred as Luke got off her back. "Hi, my name's Luke," he said quietly.
Paige turned around when she heard Panthea speak." Hello Panthea! I haven't seen you in a while... I guess cause I've bee in the hospital." She laughed nervously and then looked over and saw a guy get off of her, she guessed it was her bonder. Her smiles softened as she smiled at him." Hello Luke, I'm Paige Masters... you can call me Key though. " Tobais turned and nodded a greeting towards the other bat." Hello Panthea. Pleasure to meet you Luke, I'm Tobias, Key's bonder." He spoke softly and smooth.

Elke was dazed, and barely heard Darren try to cover up his mistake. "Never mind.. I'll explain when we get to the city," Elke gasped as Darren took her by the wrist and pulled her closer to the bat. She tried to resist by driving her heels into the stone floor, but she was very weak and was pulled easily. "To Regalia, if you don't mind." Darren said to a large gray bat.
Terran looked over at a young girl with blonde hair leaning against the wall. "Darren?" She called out, looking confused beyond words. The overlander wasn't careful... Terran shook his head. "To Regalia, if you don't mind." Darren said, once he got the girl and him situated on his back. "Of course." Terran purred, giving one last look to the girl. She didn't seem very strong, and Terran doubted she would be able to hold her own against a rat. She looked fragile as a butterfly. Terran pushed down hard with his large gray wings and took off, heading north towards Regalia.
"Hello Ambrosia." A voice called out nearby. Ambrosia dropped her hand from the necklace and turned, smiling brightly. "Hello, Key!" She waved and smiled respectfully to Tobias and her friend Key. Just then, Panthea and her bond dropped in. "Greetings," Panthea purred, while the guy slid off her back. "Hi, my name's Luke," He said quietly. He had dirty-blonde hair and was pretty attractive. Ambrosia grinned. "Hello, Luke. I'm Ambrosia," She introduced herself, then said hello to Panthea, who she knew by name, but not much else.
Elke shrieked as she was pulled onto the back of the bat. "What- but- how-" She stammered, clutching the back of Darren's shirt. Her tan hands were shaking, and she released another shriek as the bat launched into the air.

Matias landed heavily on a jut of rock at the edge of Regalia, behind them was a tunnel, the darkness was unyielding lurking in the tunnels waiting for Regalia's light's to extinguish. However, for now, Regalia's lights were bright and aglow, illuminating up into the cavernous ceiling of the Undergrounds. Demitris slid off the large bat, his eyes never leaving the view of the city, "I always thought Regalia was a beaut' from far away," He said, stroking the bat's neck with the back of his hand absentmindedly. "Do you think the Gnawers will find their way into Regalia?" he asked the bat.
Matias turned to face the human in shock, Demitris had never shown interest in the topic of the Gnawers before, worry filled Matias' heart, would this interest become desire to become a soldier? participate in the pointless wars, beat down and shut out the Rats? Could peace not be found? Matias pursed his mouth in thought, "Perhaps the Gnawers can be reasoned with, should we not first seek to understand, rather than beating them down?" It was Demitris' turn to be shocked, he hadn't expected an answer from his flier as he rarely spoke, and when he did, it wasn't without a purpose.
Name: Arctic Age: Teenage Gender: Female Race: (Overlander, Underlander, etc...) Underlander Species: (Human, Gnawer, Flier, etc...) Flier Appearance: An albino bat of average size for it's age. Personality: No one flies arctic as she is fairly temperamental, it's too difficult for people to approach her let alone fly her. She's very nasty, often seeking out conflict. She refuses to participate in a war against the Gnawers. Other: (history, crush, rank, etc...) n/a
- The girls and Terran greeted them. Panthea knew them all by name, but wasn't close with any of them. "I just wanted to ask how you're feeling," Panthea purred, looking at Key. "I didn't know you'd be out of the hospital so early," she added, fluttering her wings slightly.
Ambrosia, Key and Terran introduced themselves to Luke. He had seen them around Regalia, but had never spoked with them, and didn't know their names until now. "Nice to meet you," Luke said, giving a small half-smile. He looked up when two bats flew into the arena, with two more people. "Overlanders?" Luke said, surprised. "What are they doing here?" Panthea murmured. "Oh, look, thats Darren... he comes down regularly.. but that blonde girl is new," she purred.
"It'll take a while for it to sink in, but its real. This is the city, Regalia," Derren said to Elke as they arrived at the arena. "You have to swear not to tell anyone not your mom, best friend, boyfriend... nobody. Ok?" he asked her. "Please." he added.
Ambrosia looked up to see Darren and some girl land with Terran in the Arena. She immediately felt guilty for thinking Luke was cute. Even though she and Darren weren't a... thing, she always felt a connection to the Overlander.
"It'll take a while for it to sink in, but its real. This is the city, Regalia," Darren said to her as they got nearer to some sort of arena. Elke loosened her grip a little on the back of Darrens shirt as she stared in wonder and amazement. "You have to swear not to tell anyone not your mom, best friend, boyfriend... nobody. Ok?" Darren asked her. He sounded really serious. "Please." He added. Elke looked at him and nodded silently. "I swear," She lost her mom when she was six, but the same probably applied to her father. "This... this is incredible. There's a whole world underneath ours." She saw little figures below that she guessed were people.
Terran spiraled down into the arena, landing softly. "Ambrosia, sorry I'm late," Terran apologized to his bond Ambrosia, she just waved it off though. "Don't fret, Terran," She walked over and scratched the bat behind the ear affectionately. "Greetings, Darren." She said, giving a soft smile. "And hello to you..." She said, turning towards the blonde girl holding on to Darren's shirt. She shook away her jealous feelings; they had no right to be there.

- "I swear," Elke said. "This... this is incredible. There's a whole world underneath ours." Darren nodded. "It's pretty amazing," he said, smiling. "Well, most of it.." he muttered, thinking of the six-foot rats the Underlanders called Gnawers. Terran landed, and Darren got off his back. Elke seemed pretty scared, or at least shocked; she was holding onto the back of his shirt. "Greetings, Darren." Ambrosia said, smiling softly. "Greetings," he replied, grinning. "And hello to you..." Ambrosia said to Elke. "This is Elke, she's in my school. She saw me going into the gateway," Darren admitted, feeling embarrassed that he had been caught.
ooc; Ugh sorry for the short post.. >_> Brainfart again
