The mosquitos! Omg, those little demons. Fourth of July last year. I played corn hole with my cousins in my grandma's backyard. The game lasted five or seven minutes. By that time, I was super itchy. I go onto the patio and observe my legs. 27 bug bites covered both of my legs. In just seven minutes? Oh and an obnoxious looking one on my cheek. Cool life.
The temperature/humidity. I have an outdoor summer job, so I really get the brunt of the weather. Always have to keep hydrated. That's not necessarily the bad thing. The bad part is that I can get really dehydrated and, well, I have fainted due to the heat and dehydration in the past. Just, stop making me pass out, Mother Nature.
Jean shorts. I typically prefer athletic shorts because they keep me cool. I wear em a lot for work, since I'm allowed. But sometimes, I just want to wear a nice top and jean shorts (or similar) just look better with the top. But whenever it's too hot outside, I get all sweaty and I feel the shorts sticking to me which makes me feel hotter. This is probably stupid to complain about haha. I need to find nicer looking shorts that don't cost like freaking $30 because I'm cheap and appreciate my money.
I always feel almost left out when it comes to summer. I find it way too hot, and bugs are annoying. Plus most of the stuff people do in summer can be done year round here. It doesn't get very cold and it essentially doesn't snow. xD
Edit: If I go outside for 5 minutes, any mosquitoes nearby WILL find me, and WILL leave itchy bumps. Them jerks. ):
As for the price of shorts, did you consider looking at thrift stores? Certainly wont cost you $30 there.

Yeah, it's basically the same here too.

it's hot and humid and entirely too bright i also like coats and pants and scarves a lot and i can't wear them in the summer without dying and there are mosquitoes and snot-nosed neighbourhood kids running around everywhere and the sweating and the dog breath of death (because my dog is old and really fat, he pants all summer long. and when our air conditioning isn't functioning as it isn't right now, it wafts through the room.) and people telling me "you're too pale! get a tan!" and it's like, i will literally burn if i do that
summer can fuck itself and send me a postcard.
It's an all round year thing really, but those people are worse in the summer. They've shown up at my door in blizzards as well.
I'm going to let my dog eat them one day
Then I would have to pay for the hampers and it would just be a mess. So I just glare at them evilly from behind the deli counter XD Thank you for the items c:
So hot I stayed in all day yesterday and I probably will stay in today and ya my younger brother doesn't want to go out because someone told him about melanoma and yah now he is trippin all day every day. lol

I'm glad I stumbled on a thread about this. While there are good things about summer (like my birthday) there are so many bad..
I live in Florida. It's super hot & it's the worst kind of hot - a humid hot. You can't walk outside without sweating. Also the Mosquitos! Ughhhh. My boyfriend lives near a lake & I can't wear shorts outside without getting eaten alive. It's also hurricane season & there have already been tornado warnings. It rains every afternoon too.
I work in a library. I never knew so many kids went to the library, ugh. Crying kids & rude parents all day. It's not even that, even in my neighborhood loud kids are just running through the streets. Um, I guess I just don't really like kids lol - stranger kids at least.

You're welcome (:
BRING ON FALL AND WINTER AND SPRING EVEN. BUT SUMMER NEEDS TO GTFO. :D
I hibernate more in summer than I do winter.
For those who love summer, there's ten of us who don't haha I could NEVER imagine living in Florida. That sort of heat is just silly. I get rain all year n such but it could neeeeveeerrr get anywhere near that hot or humid. Just... ew.
Kids go to libraries? Really? I was starting to wonder if kids even knew what a library is :| It seems to be random kids are always the worst, they never seem to shut up.. Siblings, cousins, own children, whatever seem to be far more bearable.

Fresno is stupid hot during the summer. It's already in the triple digits this year. A few summers ago, it was so hot that it killed 36 elderly in less than a month over here. At least I like beer now. I think I'll get a case of Shock Top tomorrow. is 25
or just fall and winter spring is pretty but it makes me sneeze :c
Air conditioning. What? You really think I'm going out of this house during the day in central Texas? 100+ degree weather, humid, no breeze, and you practically have to do a rain dance just to get some damn rain. Not to mention the bugs. Around here you learn to just not come out of the house until evening unless you have to And of course, you can't plan for anything. One day it's raining like hell, no sun in sight and humid with a strong breeze, the next it's a clear cloudless day with slight breeze. Actually, that's kind of a lie, normally sudden changes like that occur in a few hours...
Riding in cars. Riding in cars where people don't have AC. And all the kids are out of school and they're astoundingly bad at all the games my friends and I play together and they just flood the community.
I remember being in Taiwan during the summer and feeling like I'd probably melt at some point, but Taiwan was 94-97 F with 80% humidity most of the time.... You know what that's like...it was insanely hot. The upside, most dept stores and public trans. blasted a/c, but god, the bugs and the humidity...
I hate summer, least favorite season, but I have a high cold tolerance, and actually prefer the cold, but intensely dislike heat.
I know! I never went to the library as a child & when I got this job, I never imaged how busy we'd be. A lot of people don't realize that we have more than books - we have DVDs, video games & computer access. We also have a lot of summer programs for kids, so yeah. I've had a kid scream bloody murder because she didn't want to let go of the book to have me check it out & when I gave it back she said she didn't even want it now lol. My boss came out of her office because she thought spmeone was beating this child. But it's always nice to see kids really get into books, that they still like to read even despite all of the technological advances.

Ew. 100+ is BEYOND too hot. At that point it's freakishly hot, even in California it shouldn't be allowed to get that hot. Just no. No one wants to put up with that. Hibernate with a cold one instead. :p
Aw. Silly allergies. Okay, endless fall and winter it is.
Ah yes.... Texas. Another state that gets too freakishly hot for it's own good. I don't see how people can live there with that sort of heat.... At least it gets cool(er) in the evening...
I bus everywhere, so I totally know how that is, it sucks if it's a REALLY hot day and there's no AC. Lucky for me, I don't play any major online games, so I don't deal with kids that don't know how to play flooding them. :D
I can only imagine... I heard about that sort of heat and humidity from a friend that went to Thailand for a year. You can only hibernate in public places with A/C for so long though before you have to carry on with your day... or give up and crawl into a corner at home.
Summer is my least favorite as well, no heat tolerance, but high cold tolerance. If I get cold, people are shocked and instantly assume I'm sick.
I think I did, but that could possibly because there was NOTHING ELSE TO DO IN MY TOWN. NOTHING. I'm sure a lot of people go for the fact that "HEY THERE'S A COMPUTER I CAN USE" alone, or if they're my dad: "there's nothing on tv, what movies do they have?" I recall seeing summer programs advertised a lot, but there was usually only one or two running throughout the summer. Why would a kid scream about a book... Especially if (they) know they're going to get it back anyway. At least your boss made sure it WASN'T someone getting beaten. lol Personally, if I want to read a book of some sort, I'd rather have a physical copy anyway. trying to read a book on a screen would just hurt my eyes. ): But at least kids still read! :D

I don't really like the heat but I actually like all seasons in some way.
Buuuut, my neighbors make me hate summer and warm weather - because they like to play Ballermann (guess it can be compared to Spring Break parties) in their garden, right under my window 24/7.
It's an inferno here during summer, but I'd never imagine living anywhere else. Besides, no state or place is perfect, they all have their downs and ups. I'd rather live in intense heat than be constantly threatened by earthquakes, tornadoes and hurricanes but have a perfect summer temperature. Though, we are able to get all of those, but the earthquakes here are too small to do any damages, the tornadoes don't get too big and don't usually come around here, and the hurricanes usually curve into Mississippi/Louisiana instead of Texas.
Here is nice. It seldom gets into 100+ and rains a lot all other seasons. The worst thing that can happen is an earthquake or a flood, since it's the coast of an island, but neither really ever happen enough to leave any sort of real impact. The one thing most people wouldn't like around here is that it essentially doesn't snow. Maybe once or twice in a year, at the most. For me, it's great, it's a coastal climate, others though may find it terrible. xD
