I'm sure you've probably already seen this, but my sister-in law shared this link with me today.

Haven't seen it, however I don't find it funny...didn't watch all of it, just the first verse was enough...wouldn't sharing it be like giving it more power though?
Well the point of it is that a lot of Israelis are embracing it and in fact mocking it, giving it no power. I mean there are a lot of songs that don't really have much of a meaning to their lyrics and sound like a whole bunch of gibberish in the end, despite being catchy, and I think that's what they're doing with this song. And yeah the words are offensive, but I love how the Israelis are basically just throwing it back in Hamas's face and showing them that this propaganda failed.
Personally, I think it's better than fearing or hating the song, because it would have more power if it was able to actually scare us. But of course that's my opinion alone and I'm sure there are people who think otherwise.
I apologize if my sharing it offended you. But again, hopefully this whole thing will end soon.
Yeah, maybe you're right, definitely not fearing or hating it, maybe ignoring it. And don't worry, I don't offend so easy ;) We're talking, makes me feel good :) she says, not at all selfish
Spreading anything other than positive energy over this sort of thing is just unacceptable. There's enough hate in the world without people perpetuating it online or anywhere else for that matter. shrug I really just don't understand why people can't get along.
Totally understanding your comment about having a nice place to play and feel safe. There aren't enough places in the world where someone can feel accepted and free to say and do whatever without being persecuted.
How's everything going? Last night one of my stupid neighbors set off some kind of explosive device and it scared the hell out of me. And my poor cats. Made me think of you though and how scary that must be to have it happen so often and not just once from some drunk moron. :/ Hope you're doing well! Since I'm at work and have the time, I thought I'd check in.
Thank you! Yesterday, after a 3 day ceasefire, of course they're at it again...Now we're waiting for the other shoe to fall :/
Israelis (Mostly Israeli who were born here) have a different sense of humour. Very mocking in the face of what other people would consider terrifying. Amazing people. used to be here no one was afraid anywhere. One of the nice things about Israel, always felt the safest place in the world. I can't see the original letter I wrote you on subetalodge, but I guess things worked out here? Things were messed up a few days with the new achievements pages. How are you today? Was it a quiet Shabbat for you?
-km Yes, things have worked out, it was something with the achievements, the new coding-Subeta "toy" :D Fortunately, up until now, 10:35PM, things are quiet (knock on wood! :D )...it still seems as if waiting for the other shoe to fall...Thanks for your concern :) ❤
Ugh, why can't they just stop and talk about it? Does no one ever try a peaceful solution first? I'm not just talking about Israel either. It seems like anymore, all people do is jump right to the fighting. Wouldn't it be a better idea to cool your temper and talk things out instead of being all 'Nope, just gonna bomb the hell out of my enemy!' But then I guess I'm being a logical person and logic doesn't really apply here. shrug At least you're doing alright. I hope this will all be over soon.
Israel does have a badass military...you'd think it'd still be a safe place because who'd want to mess with that?! It's like messing with a US Marine. Unless you're into pain and death, it's not something that's done, lol.
that's sweet. When I was 20 I went to college in Ohio. I got a job as security on campus. In one of the dorms there were a lot of BIG BOYS, much bigger than my 5'2". A couple of times in the beginning one or two of these giants would tower over me and challenge my authority, why should they listen to me. I always smiled and shrugged and said my training in the Israeli army didn't hurt. They always backed off and after those few incidents they never challenged me in any way. teehee Jews and Arabs lived here together since time immemorial (also the name of a great book that explains this region). There has always been aggression towards in Jews in our history. For many years we would be okay in an area, then some change, a new king or a plague or war between 2 countries or random stuff and then Jews would be persecuted again. In the 20's when the British were the Powers that Be in Israel, Jews were attacked by their neighbours. Then when Israel became a UN recognized state to self govern, the arabs had all the areas that they want and more than they have now and yet the PLO was formed in the early sixties. There is sop much history here, the most recent of which is bad communication already decades old. Hard to figure out how to talk.
