I agree with you completely! I hate all this warring going on ba'aretz. I was born there but my family moved to America when I was 6 years old. I still have lots of family in Israel and I'm scared for them every day. Mostly my maternal grandmother because she's hardly able to move let alone make it down 11 flights of stairs to the sealed room all the time the alarms are going off. My Aunt and Uncle were actually visiting us in America just two weeks ago and they went back just before they temporarily banned direct flights from America to Israel.

I haven't lived there in years, but I visit almost every year (except the past two summers because I've been busy). I was there in the summer of 2006 and I remember the alarms and running to the sealed room in our apartment complex. There was actually a rocket that hit a bank maybe a mile away from our apartment complex and I was so scared because it basically felt like it landed on my building. It was the shortest visit I've ever made to Israel because my mom was scared for us and we left after only two weeks. I've been wanting to come back for a visit in the fall but I know my parents won't want me to go with all this going on at the moment.

My thoughts are with you and your family and hopefully this whole mess will be resolved in some way soon. ❤️

It means a lot to me that you know what I'm talking about, last time (2012) a rocket hit less then half a mile from my home, the whole house actually jumped, most horrible feeling ever! Tonight they HAD to take an other round at Beer Sheva, ears covered to muffled down the sirens, then holding my breath to hear where the BOOM lands...UGH! And here in B"S we had it quite "easy" this time, in Ashkelon the sirens went off every 30 minutes...Hopefully it will all end soon, people's nerves are quite on edge...

Thank you for your kind thoughts, needed them :) ❤

We only had one rocket, a stray out here but it freaked my friend out and she claims to have PTSD. PHFFT! Compared to you guys in Beer Sheva and Ashkelon... My sonis over there now in the army and I am not sleeping for a different reason than yours... We should be well. Hashem Willing, have a peaceful Shabbat !

My niece came 3.5 weeks ago, just as it was all starting, and we got an extra 5 days with her because of the FAA decision to stop planes. It was great, and she said she never felt safer anywhere in the world than here. : )

Wow...I really hope all of this end soon and your son is back home safe and sound, as well as all sons, brothers, fathers, people that try to keep us feel safe with their own lives...words come hard to me when I think of this tragedy of nerves-war that could have been avoided, if only we were dealing with human beings...capable to think, to negotiate, to stop the fanaticism...

How are things going? We haven't heard anything on the news here in a couple days and I was thinking about you and wondering if you and your family/friends were alright. I don't know if no news is good news or not. We prayed for you at my church last Sunday though. Well, our priest asked for prayers for everyone in your region and I personally prayed for you and your loved ones. And your kitties. :) Anyways, I hope everything's well with you.

Things are pretty much the same, just this morning I was woken by the lovely siren "music", at 5 AM, (&&%#@*(&%$#% :D Unfortunately we learned to cope with it all...some days are tougher then others...but...it is what it is. Thank you much for your interest and prayers, it means a real lot to me, to us. Kitties thank you also ;)

I worry about people. I annoy them sometimes with how much I worry. ^^;; But I'm glad you're doing as well as you can. :)

Don't let the people who you think are annoyed with you for worrying bother you one whit. Your concern makes this world a better place than all the numbness going on.

Sorry you had a siren today. I hope the rest of your Shabbat was quiet. I have a friend in Beer sheva, her boys are in Netivot. Not simple. Be safe. We all want the boys home, on the other hand, I read a slogan that said you don't stop a doctor in the middle of an operation, so I do not really know what to think. I hope they all come home well and soon.

-km I don't let them bother me...other than making me a little sad that they can't care more. Some people are just...ugh.

Yeah, that makes me sad all the time. I have to not think about it. Then I worry that I am getting to be like them too...? I still care, and still emote. I ask my husband all the time how he manages not to react to everything. I will be moderate someday... not likely because my 90 year old mother still seems to care about everything (especially when people WASTE things) ;)

I'm really happy to see so many wonderful and supportive people in this thread. On a regular basis, I hear a lot of people saying bad things about Israel and it really hurts me because even though I don't live there anymore, it's still my home (birth) country and it is part of who I am.

It is my home country and I support their decisions. I know it's a hard situation to be in, but it's hard when you're being attacked and you have to attack back because otherwise you'll just be stepped all over. I don't really wish to start a conversation about what is right or wrong about everything going on, because that's not the intention of this post, I just want to thank everyone posting here for all the support and positive energy going around in this thread. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Yes, I second what said 1000%, thank you all for your words of strength and support, it really makes me happy to have this much positive energy and feedback, although I was born in Romania, Israel is my country now and has been for quite a long time. Thank you guys! ❤

totally! It's great to have this alter universe. They even stopped the random stealer which was driving me nuts and making me nervous about losing things from my inventory. It is so nice to just have a nice place to play and hang out and feel safe, even if it's just a fantasy world like subeta. But such good people here!!!

I agree. I'm not sure about the history (I'm a horrible israeli for not knowing), but even so, the Israelis have always been more than willing to share the land amicably with others, but then others get greedy and want to take control of it as their own.

Although I'm pretty certain it did "originally" belong to the palestinians (maybe, again bad with history), but land changes hands all the time, I mean a lot of the roman empire changed hands multiple times and they're not still fighting over it nowadays. I'm just sick of all the fighting for everything. People should be safely at home with their families not overseas fighting and not fighting to defend their home country.

Also my parents are from Romania. My dad was born in Bucharest and my mom in Yasi. Where were you born?

It's okay for not knowing. Most Americans know nothing about US History. I know about it because I'm a History major. The land originally belonged to the Israelis (they weren't known as Israelis back then. They were just the Jews) but they were chased out by the Assyrians. After the Assyrian Empire fell, the Palestinians moved into the area. They then scattered and a large number of them ended up in present day Europe.
