I lived in the Southern US for a while, honestly unless it can kill you in under 20min or make giant chunks of flesh die and fall off, I wouldn't worry too much. It's not a new spider, just one that's becoming more common, so they've got anti venom for it. Freaking out won't really do much. If you do find a nest, burn it. That's what we did with brown recluses. :)

I was totally thinking 'It won't come as far north as Scotland, it's too cold', then I read the bit about the woman in Egremont and I though 'Awww, shit!' because that's only a few hours drive from here. I don't want deadly spiders. D:

we are run amuck with black widows and other here in california and then the rattlesnakes gak..englands nightlife is to be feared like LAs more than the spiders!
