I have 14 males, 5 females, and one genderless.
Mostly because most of the characters in my stories are male, and those that are usually not gender-important, like a plant, robotic Mailbox, or beaver seem to make better males then females.
Though... a female robotic mailbox terrorizing town does sound amusing... ponders

I have: 4 females 4 males 1 zap (so he's always changing. He's going to be male in the end though.)
And it wasn't intentional. xD I created four pets (Sam, Imunique, PhD, Bumblebee; 1 f, 3 m) and adopted the others; picking them up as their gender by chance. xD
Out of 11 pets 9 are male and 2 are female. It was completely intentional, because for some reason I'm shit at designing female characters.
I've got 8 males: Xaarin, The Melodious Nocturne, Brain Damage, Desterò, Flurry of Dancing Flames, Ghost in the Machine, Zakkusu no Tsubasa, and Riku Replica.
And I've got 2 females: Mirifice and Aeryth.Corrupt
And the next to pets I'm planning to get are going to be male. xD Key of Destiny and Freddie Highmore. owo
Although, I might be changing Ghost in the Machine to a girl. Not positive. I think boy works better, though. And Riku Replica was originally going to be a girl. Except he wasn't going to be Riku Replica. xD He was going to be someone else entirely, but then I got the idea for him and just put him in the role of the character I would've created. owo He fits quite well, actually.
I guess I have more guys than girls because a) several of my characters are fan characters/cosplay characters/whatever you call them from Kingdom Hearts, and, well... there are no decent female Kingdom Hearts characters. ._. Except Larxene, but I still like the guys better. xD b) my stories are more action-y, and guys fit better into that role than girls, and c) I like to focus a lot on friendship instead of sappy romance, and when you've got two guys it's a lot easier to make them friends than if you have a guy and a girl. xD
2 females 7 males 1 genderless
The gender of each pet was determined by the name, for the most part. If not the name, the color and species of the pet (whether I thought it looked more masculine or feminine). Hellhound is just genderless since I wanted a genderless pet, and his/her name didn't really call for a specific gender in my eyes.
8 Female 2 Male
I don't like to work with male character... because all my self created characters are female. The only 2 male pets is requested by my brother, so i didn't do it myself. First i had 10 females, but a male pet was missing. xD I think the reason is im female, so my pets must be female. XD

I've got 7 male and 3 female; I know I tend to lean towards male names when creating pets, for whatever reason, but that's about as far as it goes. I haven't/probably won't develop my pets into real characters, but I've got a reasonable number of male/female OC's so I think it is just chance that I've ended up with what I've got.
I was planning on changing Arrowe from female to male, but I think I'd rather spend the SP on something else now. Heh.
I have 7 gentlemen, 2 ladies, and 1 genderless.

I find it interesting that most people tend to have male pets. I have a 50/50 ratio, 5 female 5 male, and that was pretty intentional. Most of my pets are adopted, and most of them for the names, but I did take into consideration the genders before I adopted. Maybe it's because I make the pets, then make the character for them, rather than the other way around.
Well, I have all male except for one...
...Who was turned Female by the zapper.
3 Females : Juliette, Amoretta, and Mottle 9 Males : Vosovic, Malandrino, Garevani, Engelo, Gautier, Bui, Micahs, Munari, Nicolau
I don't know why this is. I like making male characters better, I guess. Females are harder to work with. Although I think I'm going to pound Nicolau soon and adopt another female pet. I just got Juliette and Amoretta recently and was really pleased with how their characters came out c:
Female: 12 Male: 8
It just sort of worked out that way: adopting pets with names I liked and coming up with personalities. Gender wasn't something I paid much attention to unless I had a character I wanted the pet to specifically fit into.

Males: 3 Female: 0
Well... I pounded my last female a month or two ago because her story and background was really CHEESEY. They kinda just came out male... I wanted a 50:50 ratio though. :P
Genderless: 1 (Mensa) Female: 4 (Astra, Titania, Etain, Juneau) Male: 15 ...
I even tend to consider Mensa to be male most of the time, so that could almost be 16/4. :P It's completely unintentional, though I do prefer male pets. D:
Mostly, I think I just happen to find more decent male names available when creating/renaming. On other sites I have made it intentionally 50/50, but I've never had just one of either gender. I don't really have a problem with female characters, it's just kind of funny because I do prefer male pets in real life. I tend to get along better with them, for some reason.
3 females to 7 males.
I just like dealing with male characters better, I guess. x3
6 are male (Banchi, Ecllipse, Nycl, Yukih, Smuk and Gurakee. And 4 are female (Oceanyce, Selkye, Kanwal and Niairu). I think the choice was involuntary xD
Please do not bite me more, I want to be with the virus of love, Thank you :D
Out of my 17 pets I have: 7 Females 10 Males
My strongest and most spoiled pet is female, oddly. Hey, girls can fight too ^_^ but I always wanted to keep mine even then I found out the names Spartan, Johnny Blaze and Prowler weren't taken/ used yet So much for it being even.
Out of my 14 pets, I have only three females: Scout, Allegory, and Swan. The rest are guys.:P
...
Lessee, I have 1 genderless, 4 female, and 5 male pets. I haven't perfected their characters yet, but all three of my battle pets are female.
And I have done a bit it of genderswitching: before I settled on personalities, Ettin was a female and Grendel was a male. Fredericka is actually based off of one of my male OCs, but the name "Frederick" was taken when I made her, and then I realized that the gender wasn't as important as the cold-hearted ruthlessness so I just threw and "a" on and called it a day. Sphericus is my on-again, off-again lab pet, so "his" gender's still up in the air. Everyone else is set at their intended gender.
Cruthiar would like to have a word with you. :P
six females and five males for me, when I make a pet I decide on a name I really like (I can be a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to names) and then the gender is usually decided by how the name sounds (Trevor=male, Veronica=female, ect.)
