I love you and you know that but I think you just went mental. Don't spend money here and donate it to an animal organization instead,Your request is ridiculous.
soz i was about to buy $500 worth of csc, but i'll just donate it to try and save the unicorns instead
i am hoping i can get a horn for nose picking

that will make you horn-y, but if it's for a good cause!
@ topic, no thanks, I don't think it's really our business. If people don't like the way things are being run, they don't have to support subeta.
Can't say I'm not curious, but no this is just a silly idea.
another thing to add, it's not really our business to see financial records, that stuff is kind of private. Especially in terms of salaries, etc.

Extras go to the person who owns the site. That's what a business is. The owner hires people, pays them, pays fees to maintain business then enjoys his money he made. Perhaps we should ask for a breakdown of things he's done with his profits? 8 dollars spent on bit glasses. 1000 dollars spent on anti-ladybug lotions. 100 dollars bent beyond recognition during "swim in the money" pool parties. No, let's not. It's not a charity. If you want to donate and still get things in return, you might see about donating what you spend on CSC to something like WWF (or similiar places), where you can buy plushies which a portion of the funds go towards animal saving ventures, or donating the money outright and not worry about getting anything in return. (I usually throw them at children for Christmas. The plushies, not the animals. That would be wrong.)
I don't think there are any extras. Keith recieves a salary like the rest of the employees most likely. Benefits probably go towards upgrading Subeta

Subeta is a company, and as far as I know, no company that I've seen releases an annual report or any type of fiscal report to random people that buy their products. As others have stated you buy subeta products, in much the same way you buy something on gaia or something on world of warcraft, you're paying for products that subeta releases and neither of those companies releases a fiscal report to their users stating where the funds for their companies go.
So, with that in mind, and since subeta is technically a company, why do they need to release anything to their users? That's private information that belongs to the company itself only.
Seeing as Subeta isn't a publicly traded company, I can't see what incentive they would possibly have to provide access to their financial records. Actual publicly traded companies don't have to release that information more than once a year anyway (in the States). If the law didn't require companies to release that information, do you really think Pepsi would be putting out their financial records in a place where their competitors could see them? Really now.
As far as giving to non-profits, "any extra leftover" even for major corporations isn't just given away to non-profits. The majority of any cash flow has to remain with the company, so they can still be around the next month and next year. If you want to see "some good being done with your money," then I would suggest you make a cash donation to an organization of your choice, rather than purchasing a product from a for-profit entity and then demanding that they pass along the profits to your designated non-profits.
I do agree with , though, that some sort of update on progress that's made with upgrades and stuff would be kind of nice. Especially if it was actually organized in one place where everyone can see it, rather than just wherever staff has chosen to post on the forums about it. But that's really tangential to the original suggestion.
I don't want to see a break down of privet information. But what I would love to see, would be a year end new announcement saying 'we broke even and can pay for another -coder/programer/staffer/artist servers etc...' something the backing of subeta needs or could use (or coming soon), maybe even some advertising. Keith and his staff knows what they need, and what the user base needs to see or hear.(read). But that is all, and he does that now and then just not in that exact way. Subeta has staff applications. has news updates on upgrades and plans, so it's just looking at the bigger picture of what is going on rather than thinking Subeta is ran like the Canadian government.

lol this thread

You're too late unicorns are extinct So put that money to Subeta anyways?

Just echoing everyone else that this is not needed.
Nobody is donating to Subeta, they're buying a product. Despite the product being virtual, it's still a product. It's the same as someone buying FarmVille cash or something. That's not a donation to the company, that's someone buying a product from that company.
Subeta is part of a business. A business exists to make money. If , as the owner, wants to donate some of his own money to a charity of his choice, he is free to do so of course. Why on earth should he have to give "extra" cash (aka "profit", the reason for a business to exist) to a charity?
If you want to go save some animals, volunteer at a shelter or give some of your own money to them...
ANTI-LADYBUG LOTION. YOU WIN AND FOR THAT I GIVE YOU 1000 INTERNETS.
I think it would be cool for a general breakdown. Like 50% goes to the servers, 25% pays salaries etc etc. We don't need any real specifics or details though, really. At the end of the day, it's just not necessary.
And as for donating to animals? LOL. I can imagine the uproar when that extra $3000 went to that instead of towards the recode. I'd rather every extra cent go towards getting the site functioning like a grown up.

Yeah, but without hard numbers what would that information actually tell you / what would you get out of it?
💖 ✨ 🤗
There's also the issue (for any company) of income and bills not being exactly the same amounts every month, so one month you might have "extra" and the next month you might need that money to cover a higher bill or make up for a slow month of sales.
This thread and I found it this post can be closed are getting good!

Personally IDK. But I'm guessing it might appease a lot of people who are questioning just where the money they give to the site actually goes? Like I said, it wouldn't have to be all that specific. And I sure as hell wouldn't do it monthly. Or even quarterly. I would just be like "Over the past 6 months, this a a rough breakdown of where your $$ went: xx- servers xx- recode xx- salaries etc.
There is always the chance that if some people get more regular updates on like, the progress of certain areas/how the breakdown goes and that's why it takes so long/a general idea of what it really takes to keep Subeta on its feet, they might actually donate more.
Even an annual report would be interesting. Without hard numbers Subeta's privacy is protected and user curiosity is satisfied. Users also don't "donate" anything, they purchase. :)
Along the same lines, some Subeta updates on the technical end from programmers would be awesome!
