I am the absolutely restless kind that has only one comfortable position, cant stand certain smells, sounds, or textures... Aaaand I always need to be up against my love. So. A tortured sleeper.

It takes me a really long time to fall asleep unless it's super freezing or raining. When I was little, once I fell asleep I was out forever, but now I get woken up by the slightest creak. I should probably use earplugs but I feel safer with my ears on alert. Guess I'm the paranoid sleeper :P

If I'm really tired, I fall asleep almost immediately, but if not, I tend to start thinking and I find myself still awake at 4am. That's why I usually read a book until I feel sleepy. Once I'm asleep, I'm a heavy sleeper and noise doesn't bother me at all. I'm one of those people who need at least 8 hours of sleep to be able to function.

I think I sleep quite peacefully, though sometimes I mumble in my sleep. I also have this thing where I hear my alarm going off, get up, do some morning chores, and then look at the clock and realize it's something like 3am and my alarm was really set for 8am, so I actually just thought/dreamt I heard the alarm. It makes me feel so stupid, especially when I finally notice it's still dark outside so it can't possibly be morning. XD

I don't need a lot of space for sleeping, probably because I'm not very big to begin with, but I do like to have enough space to spread my legs and arms to the sides a little. When I sleep next to my man, I cuddle him at first, but at some point I always turn away, still unconsciously making sure our bodies are touching in some way.

I'm a very light sleeper. Strangely, I could still find myself being able to fall asleep even with the lights on, but just a tiny sound or certain smells, will wake me up immediately. I tend to toss and turn a lot, and when it's super cold, I always curl up into a ball sort of like a human roly-poly hahaha.

Since I do design work, my sleeping habits and schedule are pretty wacky. Often I go to bed in the early hours and wake up around the afternoon (when I don't have class), and often after major project deadlines I'll just sleep for 15 hours or more straight after going back to my dorm. :P

Oh gosh yes, weird rhythmic patterns will keep me awake for hours. Not so much because I don&;t like them, but because I&;m trying to figure out what they would be written down. (Music theory was clearly the most useful class I&;ve ever taken.) And the fan too, but more because I&;m always mildly afraid that one of these days, it&;s going to fly off my ceiling and murder me in a freak ceiling fan accident. That&;s a thing, right?
Yup! That's it exactly, not that I'm really up on music theory so much, but I anticipate a rhythm the whole night until finally I manage to fall asleep. And ceiling fans do seem rather dangerous -- I could imagine them pummeling as they fall toward their slumbering victims, haha. :)

I do the same thing -- I love cuddling as I fall asleep, but I still manage to turn myself as I sleep. My guy is a pretty deep sleeper so his kitten rarely wakes him up in the wee hours of the morning when the urge strikes to play, but I get bombarded with his kitten kneading into my belly, eating my hair, or trying to snuggle under the blankets. It's cute, but definitely puts a damper on getting a restful sleep through the morning, haha

I relate everything to music, so I'll stay awake questioning myself whether that was an eighth note or a sixteenth note the whole night. /facepalm Ceiling fans are a true menace. I've always wanted to put one on a wall instead of the ceiling just to make them look goofy. Payback for threatening to murder me every night, aha.

Heh, I guess I fall asleep somewhat easily. Lights can be on, sound can be going (to an extent). Or it can be pitch black and silent ~

Once I'm asleep though, I'm a light sleeper and wake up easily. When I hit a heavy sleep cycle though, it takes a lot to wake me. ^^;

Lately I have to wear earplugs to bed so I can actually have a full nights sleep, else the fruit bats or possums outside my window wake me up while they munch on our figs :I

I feel like a lot of us are posting in this thread because we all have weird sleeping patterns, haha.

I tend to take a long time to fall asleep, unless I'm REALLY tired or I was drinking a lot, haha. Normally it doesn't help because I tend to browse forums or play games on my phone way past the time I should put it away and try to sleep. I'm also a very restless sleeper and if I DON'T wake up at least once sometime during the night I am very surprised in the morning (I've had an uninterrupted night's sleep maybe once in the past month that I can think of).

I take forever to fall asleep it's awful and then once I am asleep depending on the night I often wake up at 1-3 hour intervals over and over, sometimes I take forever to fall back to sleep and sometimes I fall right back to sleep.

I am also an extremely light sleeper so EVERYTHINGGGG wakes me up, thankfully I don't wake up to the house noises though. When we first moved to our new house back in October. The house is noisy, the pipes, the sound when the heater comes on. The sound before it's coming on etc. I would wake up so much to these sounds and be all startled but I sleep through them now.

I wish I had the sleeping ability of my fiance, seriously he lays down and then within minutes you hear SnNnOoOOORRRReeEeE XD

It usually takes me about 15-30 min to fall asleep, faster if I imagine something pervy (idk why haha). I'm also very sensitive to noises during this period, but once I'm asleep one has to try really hard to wake me up. And I move around a lot in my sleep, sometimes even to the point of sleepwalking, sleeptalking and things like that! I also usually wake up in a terribly bad mood.

Hmmm... I got to think about this... xD Unlike a good number of users in this board, I actually am a heavy sleeper. I don't wake at all around thunderstorms or even if someone's talking next to me. :P I think I'm slightly narcoleptic, it runs in my family apparently. I have talked to people or was doing something and and gradually just fall asleep. O.o I have slept in class, cars, couches, friend's couches, tables, and even my parents' walk in closet. Though if I have an unregular sleep pattern, it usually take me a few hours to unwind from the day and relax and then sleep. And as for sleeping position, I usually am a log sleeper or a yeaner. I'm such a light sleeper, if anyone so much as breathes around me I wake up like a shot. My mom had a fucking impossible time trying to put 'tooth fairy' stuff under my pillow as a kid. It's annoying when I live with loud flatmates, but it's also nice knowing it's impossible to sneak up on me if I have to sleep on like, the bus or something. As for position...no matter how I fall asleep I wake up every single morning lying on my back. Not sure why.

I fall asleep pretty quick but it doesn't take a lot to wake me up. Just the dog moving around in the house will put me wide awake. Though, I fall back asleep just as fast.

I think I sleep pretty heavily but if I'm too hot or too cold I will wake up. It sometimes takes me 45+ minutes to get to sleep so that's frustrating. I usually sleep on my side. Also, I snore, apparently.

I haven't heard any stories of me talking in my sleep so that's interesting. Except for -- a few times, when I was younger, I'd wake up in my parents' bed and be confused. And my mom said I had been screaming in my sleep and they carried me into their bed to comfort me.

Edit: Oh no, what happened to the forum?

I sleep like a rock and it's a pain in the butt to wake me up. Except if I'm at someone else's house, then if they get near me I'll wake up.
