I used to have a lot of trouble falling asleep, but now when I get back after 10.5 hrs shifts it's not so hard anymore :P I'm so tired I can fall sleep if it's hot, cold, dark, light, quiet, noisy etc. But if I wake up at any point after falling asleep it's really, really hard for me to go back to sleep.
Moderate sleeper during slow wave sleep and light sleeper during the rest.
When I was younger I felt like I didn't know 'how' to go to sleep lol. I really wanted to be able to will myself to sleep like others seemed to be able to. Instead I just stared at the ceiling for hours until I didn't remember when or whether I even fell asleep.

I love to sleep! I work full time (7 am to 6 pm every weekday) so I have to be up at 5:30 am to get ready and get my daughter ready and let my dogs outside and give them their breakfast. When I come home at night, I get a shower and feed the dogs again and take care of Ariel again, all that along with my boyfriend who is quite needy... we fall asleep by 10 pm on the weeknights and around midnight usually on the weekends.
I sleep on my stomach with a flat pillow and my arms wrapped around it. I don't like to cuddle while I sleep but my two little dachshunds do sleep weaved in between my legs. I like my room to be cold. And at 5:30 am... alarm clock!
Depends. If I'm tired as hell I'm usually a heavy sleeper, otherwise I'm light~ And also, if I'm really tired I fall asleep as soon as I touch the pillow, otherwise, it takes hooours!!!! And you better not wake me up or I'll be grumpy for the rest of the days. I insult, kick, and get agressive. No wonder no one ever bothers me. I wish I wasn't like that tho :( I miss so many things

It used to take me a long time to fall asleep but now I can fall asleep in minutes. I think I'm in-between with heavy or light sleeping. I always sleep on my side and I like to pull my knees up.
This is kind of weird but I like to sleep with extra pillows on top of my face. When I was younger my mom thought I somehow suffocated myself in my sleep one night cause I was under the pillow

I sleep like the dead, but I stay up hellishly late to the point I pretty much just pass out lmao. I also surround myself in pillows so i just cling to those and curl up.
If I'm not exhausted, it takes 20-60 minutes to fall asleep, which sucks, especially on school nights. But if I'm exhausted, it takes just a few minutes.
Uh, I used to be able to fall asleep on my side or on my back pretty easily, but these past few years, if I'm desperate to fall asleep, I have to sleep on my stomach. Freefaller!
I don't understand you people who can sleep under pillows! Doesn't it get really hot/stifling under there? Isn't it harder to breathe?
I stay up to the point I pass out, but I'm a very light sleeper so any noise will wake me up and if there is any noise I won't fall asleep
It takes me ages to fall asleep but once I'm out I'm virtually impossible to wake up. Haha.
I sleep in the same position! On my tummy with one of my arms under the pillow. Super comfortable, my boyfriend is always confused on how I sleep like that but I love it.
Oh wow, that is impressive! I can sleep easily through alarms and massive storms. Also light doesn't bother me, I can sleep with every light on in my room.
Fortunately, if I'm having a good sleep pattern, I will sleep in one position and wake up in that same spot,... I never have had to worry about strangling myself with headphones, although I never fall asleep chewing gum in fear of waking up with it in my hair! XP My favorite sleeping position is on my side or on my tummy. I've heard sleep paralysis is caused by sleeping on your back sometimes! Never had to worry about it, personally :F

it takes me a while to fall asleep, even if i stay up all night. it has to be completely dark and quiet or else i can't sleep. and yeah i usually sleep decently heavily. i wake up easily enough when called or shaken, but i'm not one of those people who you shift in the bed next to them and they're awake. i mess up my sleep schedule so badly though, poor body i am sorry
oh also i can literally only fall asleep on my side
It's by far the best position in my opinion, aha. High five for us! People are confused over my sleeping position as well...They don't know how I can just fall asleep like that. It's way more comfortable than sleeping the other way.
I could fall asleep anywhere. What the current situation is depends whether I am light to it or not. Ever since i was little I always fell asleep in the booths at restaurants and I had to be shaken awake. I've been working on staying awake when I am tired, but when I am out - I am out nothing can really wake me.
I go through cycles of all kinds of sleep. But usually it takes me forever to fall asleep and I stay asleep well. Just within the past few nights though, I've been falling asleep within minutes, which has been great. Probably because of all the stress and chaos from the holidays. The only thing that really wakes me is if I get too hot (whether from blankets or a pile of cats) or if the cats decide I'm a trampoline in the middle of the night or if one of them/both of them start fighting/playing/randomly meowing. I sleep best sprawled out on my stomach with my limbs every which way and I never wake up in the same position.
It takes me a long time to fall asleep. I toss and turn alot but once i am asleep i sleep good. I am not hard to wake but not to easy either.
I generally take a while to fall asleep. I usually spend this time tossing and turning, re-arranging the blanket, moving my panda plushie around, and thinking about the day and life in general. I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, but shining a bright light in my face and being generally loud is generally enough to wake me up. I'm pretty sure I snore, and I think I toss my plushie and blanket off of myself while I'm asleep.
I usually fall asleep quickly and once I am asleep, I sleep deeply. I'd say that I'm pretty lucky in the sleeping department. ❤️ I'm not an affectionate sleeper though, sadly. I'll take all my affection before it's time to sleep, but when I need to actually sleep, I want my space back.

It depends on the setting. If I'm in an actual bed, it needs to be completely silent and dark. I've taped over all the lights that don't go off (like the flashy one on the smoke detector) because it WILL wake me. Someone walking outside across the street will wake me. If I'm at school and trying to take a quick nap between classes, all I have to do is find a chair/desk to sit at, put my head down, listen to some metal, and I'm out.
If I'm a passenger in a car/bus? I'm out like a light the instant it starts moving and I will sleep through the apocalypse as long as the car doesn't stop. I got stuck sitting in the back of a tour bus surrounded by a group of drunk rednecks who were screaming at the top of their lungs and saying really obscene stuff and I still had no trouble falling asleep.
I have no idea why there's such a major difference lmao, especially since I have the most trouble sleeping when I'm in the most comfortable and peaceful setting. I also have a habit of just napping in 1-2 hour blocks at random points through the day. It usually adds up to about 5-8 hours of sleep per day.
How I fall asleep really depends on what I'm doing during the day. Since I have a two year old her actions affect my sleep schedule. So sometimes it's right out, other times I'm staring in the dark.
My boyfriend tells me all the time I steal all the blanket and has actually started bringing his own when he stays over haha
And I'm EXTREMELY heavy sleeper. When he's here he hears Avery wake up and practically punches me awake. I also apparently talk in my sleep a ton and confuse him constantly.
Aha, isn't it great? Oh gosh yes, weird rhythmic patterns will keep me awake for hours. Not so much because I don't like them, but because I'm trying to figure out what they would be written down. (Music theory was clearly the most useful class I've ever taken.) And the fan too, but more because I'm always mildly afraid that one of these days, it's going to fly off my ceiling and murder me in a freak ceiling fan accident. That's a thing, right?
